Everything worked as planned. I had not understood that my wife and I would have a driver / guide to ourselves. Pedro was engaged and very pleasant to be with. He was excellent. The driver from and to the airport was also a very pleasant person. Overall we were very pleased with our experience.

What our customers ask about Wine Tasting Tours & Trips
What wine regions are typically visited on these tours?
You'll explore some of the world's most famous wine areas, each with its own special character. In Italy, tours take you through the rolling hills of Chianti and to small towns like Montepulciano where you can taste Brunello wines. Portugal's green Douro Valley is where Port wine comes from, while the coastal Vinho Verde region makes light, crisp whites. In South Africa, you can visit scenic Stellenbosch and Franschhoek, known for their dramatic mountain backdrops. Australia's Barossa Valley is famous for rich Shiraz wines. You might stay at beautiful places like Villa Cicolina in Montepulciano or Dimora dell'Erbe in the Tuscan countryside.
What types of wine regions and wineries can I expect to visit?
You'll get to know places like Mendoza in Argentina, where you can taste amazing Malbec wines while looking at the snow-capped Andes. In Greece, you'll visit Nemea to try ancient varieties like Agiorgitiko, and in Tuscany, you'll discover the famous wines of Chianti. At places like Kaiken Winery in Mendoza, local experts will show you around the vineyards and explain how they make their wines. One TourRadar traveler said "the wine tasting was excellent and the locations were beautiful." Most tours take you to 3 or 4 wineries in each region, with plenty of chances to taste and learn.
What's the ideal time of year for wine tasting tours?
The perfect timing depends on where you're going. In Mendoza, plan your trip for March through May when they're harvesting the grapes and temperatures are a pleasant 70-75°F (21-24°C). For Tuscany, the sweet spots are May-June or September-October when it's usually 65-75°F (18-24°C) - perfect for outdoor tastings. Try to avoid July and August when it can get really hot, up to 90°F (32°C), and tourist spots get crowded. One TourRadar traveler mentioned that "visiting during harvest gave us amazing insight into the winemaking process."
What can I expect from wine tastings during these tours?
You'll visit top wineries like Quinta da Pacheca in Portugal's Douro Valley and Knappstein Wines in Australia's Clare Valley. At each stop, you'll see how they make their wines, walk through underground cellars, and taste special local wines like Vino Nobile in Montepulciano and Chianti Classico in Tuscany. According to one TourRadar traveler, "The wine tasting experiences were exceptional, especially in Montichiello where their cellars and tastings were top-notch."
What kind of accommodation can I expect during a wine tour?
You'll stay in places picked for their comfort and location near wine regions. These range from friendly local hotels to fancy wine resorts. In Tuscany, you might stay at the Royal Villa hotel with great views of the vineyards, while in Mendoza, the Park Hyatt puts you right in the middle of wine country. One TourRadar traveler said "the hotels were great and very well-located for exploring wine country." Every place you'll stay has comfortable rooms with modern conveniences.
Are meals included during wine tasting tours?
Most tours cover your breakfasts and some lunches and dinners, often matched with local wines. In Tuscany, you might have lunch at a family winery, while in Portugal's Douro Valley, you'll eat at special places like Quinta da Pacheca. One TourRadar traveler mentioned "the excellent meals throughout the week, particularly when paired with regional wines." It's a great way to try local food and wine together.
