Iran Tours & Trips

Once home to the Persian Empire, Iran has lived through centuries to tell its stories. Persepolis displays ancient marble ruins that show the greatness of a lost empire. In Teheran, the Golestan Palace fascinates its visitors through opulence and attention to detail, while Isfahan offers sweeping views of the Imam Square.

Tips

  • The official language in Iran is Persian. English, French and some German is spoken in tourist areas.
  • The official currency in Iran is called the Rial. Rely on cash rather than ATM’s or credit cards.
  • It’s custom for servers to refuse a tip three times before accepting it. Leave 10% to reward good service.
  • All women, including tourists, must cover their heads and dress modestly at all times.
  • Don’t leave Iran without Sohaan candies, Persian carpets and some saffron.
  • Try the national dish of Iran called Chelo. Stick to bottled water for drinking but tap water is fine for brushing your teeth.
  • The largest uncut diamond in the world is in Iran. The Darya-ye-Nur is 182 carats.
  • Small bills and coins are hard to come by in Iran. Don’t be surprised if a vendor pays you back with sweets!

Iran Holiday and Vacation Packages Reviews

  • "Iran is a fascinating country rich in culture and traditions. People are friendly and hospitable. It was the best trip I had so if you are planning to travel, book now!"
    Iran Adventure
  • "As a solo traveller, I was hesitant to to travel to these countries but decided to give it a try and go with Vodkatrain and the tour exceeded my expectations. We were given free time to do our own thing and explore the beautiful places. Aside from that we were also given options on where we want to dine so I highly recommend this tour and travelling with Vodkatrain was such a memorable experience."
The Marco Polo (from Beijing to Shiraz)
  • "The best things that happened on my 2009 trip was visiting the most amazing places. I got to experience Iran which was such a welcoming country with hospitable people, India where there was total madness on the streets and Tibet where we got to see Everest and the monasteries. The highlight of the tour were the nights on the bush camps with campfires and beers where toiletries is a prized posession. I cant wait for my 2015 trip and I thoroughly recommend Madventure."
