Our experience with TourRadar was a winner from the first communication to the final check-in on WhatsApp with our wonderful tour facilitator, Heyun. She was amazing throughout the process of setting up the tour, preparing for travel, and every day while we were on the tour. I feel like we had a connection and an avenue for assistance if something went awry, which it did not. All of the activities were as stated. The drivers all arrived when indicated. The tours were wonderful, and the accommodations were great. We were very pleased with every aspect of our trip to Vietnam, including TourRadar as our tour provider. Since we had experienced a similar system previously with another company and found it very discombobulated, we felt a bit skeptical and cautious about trying this type of touring again. We were thrilled, however, with how seamless it went off. Heyun's careful attention to every aspect of our tour and frequent check-ins made a big difference. We felt valued, and our experience with the tour mattered. We are definitely motivated to give further business to TourRadar as a result of this very delightful and memorable trip. Well done!

Things I liked: The semi-structured style of this tour offered me flexibility to add activities on the free days. Also, I didn't have to be with the same group of other travellers all the time or follow a busy time schedule. My tour manager Diep kept me well-informed about meeting times and pick up times with Whatsapp messages and checked in my welfare. She also answered my questions on the Tourradar website quickly and clearly. Glad to have had drivers and some sightseeing tours pre-arranged and didn't have to hassle at the airport and hotels. The pick up drivers showed up on time and with name cards which make our travel much easier. Great local tour guides that took me to places I would never have found myself. Enjoyed the fact that two motorbike tours were included in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi -- fun and avoided the car traffic. Things that could be improved: The description of the included tour experiences sometimes didn't exactly match reality and were a bit vague in the website itinerary. Expected kayaking in Ha Long Bay with the cruise but didn't get one. The cruise operator brought us back to the hotel 2 hours before the stated time on the itinerary. If I had known that I would have planned more activity on the last day. Two 'Group tours' turned out to be on motorbike and had individual guides for me and my son. If other travellers are wary of being on motorbikes dodging the crazy traffic in the cities they should be well-informed in advance and have the option to change the tour or add traveler's insurance to cover bike accidents which is an extra cost added on to policies (but our motorbike drivers were really expert and safe). Overall, Vietnam Fun Tours provided a rich experience for me and my son in Vietnam and I'm very glad to have chosen this operator.

What our customers ask about Food & Culinary Tours & Trips in Asia
When is the best time to take a Food & Culinary tour in Asia?
Weather patterns across Asia create distinct windows for optimal food exploration. The shoulder seasons of spring (March-May) and fall (September-November) bring pleasant temperatures that complement outdoor dining and market visits. Vietnam's food scene is best experienced from October to March when cooler weather makes street-side dining in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City more enjoyable. Japan's culinary calendar peaks during cherry blossom season while South Korea comes alive in October with events like the Jeonju Bibimbap Festival. Hotels such as the Makmani in Tbilisi and Rooms Kazbegi in Georgia tend to fill quickly during these prime periods.
What are the must-try culinary experiences on Food & Culinary tours in Asia?
The breadth of hands-on food experiences across Asia ranges from sushi-making workshops in Tokyo's bustling Shinjuku to Pho preparation in Hanoi's historic Old Quarter. Food tours often center around iconic locations like Seoul's Gwangjang Market where visitors can sample local delicacies or cooking schools such as Red Bridge in Hoi An. Regional specialties like Beijing's Peking Duck round out the experience. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "A tremendous experience and wonderful vacation. There is no better way to learn about a country or its culture than through food."
What types of accommodation can I expect on Food & Culinary tours in Asia?
Food tours typically feature centrally located 4-5 star hotels positioned near culinary hotspots. In Hanoi the Tirant Hotel puts guests steps from Old Quarter food stalls while Tokyo's Mitsui Garden Hotel Shiodome offers easy access to the Tsukiji fish market. Some itineraries include distinctive stays in Japanese ryokans or Halong Bay cruise boats where fresh seafood dinners are served on deck. As one TourRadar traveler shared: "The hotels were perfectly located for exploring local food scenes especially in Hanoi where we could walk to all the street food areas."
What's the typical group size for Food & Culinary tours in Asia?
Food tours in Asia typically limit groups to 8-12 participants ensuring everyone gets proper attention during cooking demonstrations and tastings. Select programs like Japan's Doris Cruise maintain even smaller groups of 6-8 people. A TourRadar traveler noted: "Our small group of 8 was perfect - we could easily gather around street food stalls fit into local homes for cooking classes and get individual attention from our guide while exploring Bangkok's markets."
How much spending money should I budget for additional food costs?
Beyond included meals travelers should plan for USD 20-30 daily for extra food experiences. Street food in Bangkok or Hanoi runs USD 2-5 per dish while casual restaurants average USD 10-20 per meal. According to a TourRadar reviewer: "Beyond included meals we spent about USD 25 daily trying extra street foods and local specialties our guide recommended. Markets and street stalls were very affordable for sampling different dishes."
What unique culinary experiences can I expect on an Asian food tour?
Food tours blend practical cooking instruction with cultural encounters. Programs often include lessons at established cooking schools like Red Bridge in Hoi An traditional tea ceremonies in Kyoto and distinctive dining experiences such as the pitch-black restaurant Noir in Ho Chi Minh City. A TourRadar traveler observed: "The cooking classes and market tours gave us real insight into the local cuisine - from making our own sushi in Tokyo to preparing pho with a master chef in Hanoi every experience felt authentic and educational."
