Luke is funny, charismatic, informative and what I’d consider a well read historian. Although he said he is not actually a historian I learned more from this dude in a week than I have my whole life. His story’s really do make him a perfect person for this Role. He’s helpful he’s professional he’s a master in command of the itinerary and it feels like he knows about something on every street. Luke seems to know everyone everywhere we go and it’s so obvious that everyone loves him. My favourite part was how much he linked Irish Mytholgy into his informative information session.
Basically I don’t think it’s possible to have a better guide than Luke. He truly is the best in the industry.

He always has very interesting stories to share about each spot we visited. I appreciate how he would stop at interesting places of interest that were not part of our official itinerary. One of these was the Torc Falls. It was just a short visit so we can take photos and this was the highlight of the trip for me. The tour was well organized, Luke was very efficient. I joined the tour because of my daughter's recommendation when she saw the tour included the shooting location for Derry Girls and I had a photo of the Derry Girls mural. The tour covered so much ground and every place we visited was jaw dropping, amazing. I truly got my value for my money on this. I also got to know people from all over the world who were super nice and friendly as I was just travelling by myself.

His job was to ensure everyone had a good time and he succeeded in that goal immensely. If we ever plan another trip overseas, we will check out what tours he is leading and it will have a significant checkbox on our decision.

A ton of very full days but Luke was good about gauging the mood of people and his sense of humour went a long way to keep everyone smiling. If the odd thing happened like a hotel change Luke always looked on the bright side of things and kept the tour chugging along. Luke would make a fabulous history teacher with all his knowledge so very lucky to have him as a tour guide. If you get Luke as your tour guide count yourself lucky because I can’t think of anyone being better suited to his job.

He far exceeds…I’ve been a trip leader for many years and know all the hard work and preparation that goes on behind-the-scenes ito become an outstanding leader like Luke. I’ve been to 69 countries.. He far exceeds anyone I’ve ever met.
His enthusiasm is contagious. He has extensive knowledge on every subject in every country. He not only states the facts but relates fun, fascinating stories to make them come alive.
His attitude toward his clients is always positive and supportive. He makes sure that everyone is getting the ultimate good experience. He also ensures that no one is ever left behind or lost. At every stop, he carefully makes sure that we are all accounted for on the bus, at the dropoff point, and the pick up.
He handles any stress or incidents that may occur in a calm manner. I never heard him say anything negative to anyone regardless of the situation.
His great sense of humor is infectious and keeps his clients happy and enthusiastic about what’s ahead.
He goes way beyond what is expected. He took us to roast a sunset with a special drink. The timing had to be perfect!
Some of us will be departing at one point, and new ones will arrive. He celebrated us with special, small drink.
He did a fun Scandinavian trivia game to help pass the time in a long drive.
He plays wonderful music to soothe and entertain us. He took requests and then had to find all the music we wanted. He was prepared the very next day to play what we asked to hear.
His sense of humor includes a change in his voice. He drops to a lower one to emphasize a point. It always cracks me up.
He gives a daily sheet showing all times and activities. He repeats everything as needed to ensure no one has additional questions.
I cannot think of a single negative incident or word to give him a lower score. If this were a 1-10 rating, I’d give him a 10.

Multiple times I would look at my sister and say, how does he remember all this? Everywhere we went he had a story to tell that was always interesting and pertinent to the area we were in. His tours of the cities were fantastic and he somehow was able to keep us all on track.
He really made the trip special and was always available to anyone who had a question, needed help planning, or just wanted food recommendations.
I cannot recommend him enough. He definitely made the trip memorable.
I can’t imagine having another tour leader on future tours.

His knowledge of the areas while on tour made this tour so much more enjoyable and valuable as he wasn't just pointing out a few monuments here are there, he was able to really dive into the history and give you a look at the past like you wouldn't see normally. His wealth of knowledge in the UK is incredible. If you ever have an opportunity to tour with him I would definitely recommend taking it because you will get so much more than just a standard tour guide.

He took us to the best services and towns and had many recommendations at each stop. When there was to be a traffic issue ahead of us that would throw the schedule off by a couple hours, he detoured us to another place and set up a lovely extra sightseeing opportunity all before even telling us there would be a change. It was magnificent. The extra bonus stops along the way filled in our experiences beautifully when the bagpiper met us at a rest stop in the Scotland Highlands or we got to meet the man with the donkey who carries his dog for him. Truly bonus experience!
Because my husband and I were celebrating our 30th, he made it extra special by contacting the hotels ahead to see if they could provide a bonus experience. We enjoyed two lovely chocolate surprises. Luke’s wake up song, Lovely Day, has made an indelible mark on my heart. It’s now my alarm and ringtone as it transports me back to that fabulous experience. When we left our group a few of us actually cried because he made us into a little family in just 13 days! Luke’s sense of humor and thoughtfulness were only match by his incredible knowledge and delightful storytelling. In fact, when we left the group and were traveling to our hotel I kept noticing interesting sights along the way. I was down right frustrated that Luke’s voice was not filling in the details.
I know we got the Holy grail with the guide/driver combo and I hope to have another experience with him in the future.

It's not hard to recoggnise and acknowledge someone who is not only committed to the company they represent but to every person who gets on the bus. Luke handles the different personalities, temperaments, needs and wants of those travelling. He is a master of his craft with history knowledge of everywhere we travel. His constant supply of information to help us get the most out of every stop is all about meeting our needs. His unending and enduring patience is remarkable - nothing was ever too much no matter how many times he had to repeat himself. HIs sense of humour, easy to relate to manner and general nice guy made this an unforgettable experience. So much did we enjoy our first trip that we organised a "Bubblehead" for this legend.

These travelers came aboard sick and coughing. By the end of the tour everyone was sick. The only thing and I mean ONLY thing that made the tour enjoyable was our guide Luke Bubblegum Schwartz ! His knowledge and enthusiasm shined through all the bad parts of the tour. I’m not sure I would ever go on an expat tour because of itinerary and subpar hotels way outside of city centers but I would definitely go on a tour that was led by Luke. He is an Anazing person who does everything he can to make sure his travelers have as much fun as possible. He is a treasure! I hope Expat appreciates him and rewards his excellence. His personable approach to all on the tour, His wealth of knowledge of all areas on the trip and continual interaction with all the people on the bus trip made the difference. He provided tips of where to go and what to do at the various locations that we visited which made all the difference to our trip. No question or request was too difficult for him, and he was always happy.
He was always pleasant to engage and went the extra distance all the time for everyone on the Tour. I have told so many of my friends and relatives of the wonderful experience we had and there is no doubt that he contributed to the experience and wonderful lifetime memories of the trip we undertook. He made the difference and it cannot be understated how much her made a difference to our trip of the UK and Ireland.

Bus tours can be a bit tedious between locations, and keeping, in this case, 46 Australian tourists entertained and informed was a good effort.
Luke made our holiday tour a great rather than mediocre.
One thing that stood out was that the tour bus had faulty air conditioning and it was quite warm at the time. Luje listened to the complaints and advocated on our behalf to ensure a changeover to another bus which had working air conditioning. The changeover took place at the bus station at Stratford upon A on and was smooth and quite painless.
Luke’s a fine tour guide, in fact in my humble opinion, the best I’ve dealt with.

He was very capable and didnt miss a beat with his organisational capabilities and managed to show up with a smiling face every morning to greet us, even though more goes on behind the scenes when we step off the bus at the end of the day.
I was quite sick during the tour and he was very accommodating to me by allowing me to stay in the hotel one day to rest during a 2 night stopover.
Even though hubby and I weren't.at our best Luke made it all worth while and memoriable.
I have no doubt that if we had had anyone other than Luke the outcome of our experiences and memories would not have been the same.
He gave much more to us than I believe was required with his unending tales and history lessons with music to lead us into the next stop.

This was more than a sightseeing tour as Luke took his history “students” back in time with places, dates, events with his drama-filled voice. Getting into Scotland, Luke darned his family kilt and took us up into the highlands, stopping the bus at a road-side memorial to give us a whiskey appreciation and tasting experience. Wishing to bond with his intrepid followers on the tour, Luke would introduce us to centuries old pubs and stood side-by-side with us for a Guinness or two. Finally, the appropriate on-board music that he played for us along the way made “Penny Lane” and the place in Ireland with the longest name, all the more memorable.

What made the trip extordinary though was our guide Luke. We learned so much about Ireland. I was quite impressed with Luke's knowledge of the history, geography, lore and legend. He is also a great story teller and was very entertaining to listen to as he connected his stories to our next destination. Enda was our amazing coach driver; friendly, helpful, and an excellent navigator of narrow roads. Both tour guide and driver were probably the best combo one could have hoped for on this trip. They have topped my standards and will make future trips hard to beat! Hotels were more like 4 stars with breakfast and dinner included. There were also plenty of opportunities to venture on our own or partake in fun optional activities (all of which were worth it in my opinion). Excellent trip overall. Once m…I booked the 24/5 to 6/6 2024 europe jewel tour with Expat through Tourradar, being a single traveller I opted for a single room, there was no facility on the booking page for this at the time. Once my booking was confirmed I proceeded to book my flights. I was informed that there was no availability for a single room when I booked at the end of January (5 months ahead) and also had to book through the "accommodation" page and not the booking page which I found quite strange. (I have all the correspondence to prove this) I then took a picture of another tour's booking page with an option for a single room and sent it to Expat. I was thanked for the feedback and told it would be passed on and believe it or not, the booking page was updated after this. I tried to change the dates but due to penalty on flights, I couldn't. I did mention several times that I was prepared to pay for the upgrade and kept requesting a single room (as I didn't want to share a room with a complete stranger) from the end of January and was told there were no cancellations. There was one space left up to the time of my departure on their website, I mentioned this to Expat with no success, so imagine my surprise when my son decided to join me just a week before my departure and he was given the "one space" which they didn't want to give me despite my willingness to pay for the upgrade. I then asked to share the room with my son rather than a stranger. How did this room suddenly pop up when my son booked it and was non-existent when I requested it but was clearly visible on their website?
The very first night at the NH hotel in Amsterdam was a disaster. Our names were not on the guest list. We were given a room, when entering, had people in it. We were then given another room, when trying to open the door was chained from the inside, obviously occupied. We were given a third room and were about to settle for the night when a man kept knocking at the door at around 11 pm saying he was given the same room. This hotel is disgusting, it gives the same key to 5 different rooms. Is this the standard of Expat?
We hardly spent any time in Vienna, just flew by, hardly did any sightseeing, its such a beautiful city we should have at least spent 2 nights there.
Spending €60 for a dinner in Ljubljana was a rip off too. How does Expat arrive at these prices? There were people who ate better food for much less.
In Switzerland we had help with the bags when we arrived but not when we left. We were up 2 floors, there was no hair dryer or phone in the room, only 1 roll of toilet paper and the food was mediocre.
The trip to Jungfrau cost €210 and was steep, very icy and treacherous. There was no way of playing in the snow as mentioned in the itenarary as it was too icy and dangerous. I was at Glacier 3000 in Lucerne last year around the same time May/June with another tour through Tourradar, and the snow was very soft and fresh and we were allowed to play in the snow for about 2 hrs., it was absolutely free and not optional. Even some of the group from the 2024 tour who went to the 360° restaurant on their own were able to play in the snow!

Coming from Australia and not seeing much snow, there was no "playing in the snow" like I did last year. I couldn't even get to the snow it was so icy, slippery and dangerous. This was false and misleading advertising and I would like a refund of €210 as soon as possible. I found this a waste of money, very annoying and very frustrating.
There was implied pressure by Expat to attend the optionals which were not cheap and not that great after all.
Overall a very disappointing trip from the start of the single room debacle to the finish.
Excellent trip. Great gyude Luke and driver Brian. The group is a fun bunch to roadtrip with.

We found that he kept everything fun and exciting and feel extremely lucky that we had him as our leader. We can’t say enough great things about him! We were also fortunate to have an amazing bus driver Lukasz who was very kind, funny, and helpful as well! The entire trip was a wonderful experience and I would recommend it to anyone. I was worried this was going to be too fast paced, no time to experience anything, with a "Bueller" monotoned, short facts only journey that would have put me to sleep or sent me exploring in my own once we reached the destinations. Boy was I wrong! Luke walked and talked us though these beautiful places while providing elaborate stories and narratives that go along with them. He, and the group for that matter, were so entertaining i found it difficult to split off from them for fear that I might miss out on something they did together or another great story shared by Luke.
I went with my mom to rekindle our relationship and this was perfect since she talked about traveling the world throughout my childhood and I wanted to as well.
Chris was superman with that vehicle and the sweetest guy one could meet, probably most liked individual on the bus, and not just because all of our lives were in his hands, so be super nice to him!
Accommodations were sufficient, it's not going to be the Waldorf Astoria people. It is a nice clean place to rest with very nice hotel staff. Bring your own wash cloth or puff, I don't think alot of these places are used to using them so they won't often have them. The food was pretty good, I have a pretty spoiled palette so what is good for me might be great for others and visa versa.
Americans! It's hard to get a glass of ice 50% of the time, don't be alarmed, ice is just not a European thing.
I would certainly do this AGAIN! I had a blast on this trip and though I couldn't take my very close friends with me, I felt like I made 40 new and great ones all over the world and plan to keep in touch with as many as I can.

If your a travel seeker, city wonderer, and history buff with a curious personality I would highly recommend spending a month in Europe with Luke! From day 1 when you arrive in Greenwich, London to day 26 when you arrive back in Greenwich, London you will have a fantastic experience! Every sense comes alive and every moment becomes a memory you won't forget. Having to wake up between 6:30am and 8:00am is totally worth it. There is no reason to sleep in as there is so much to do.
I have been on other escort tours in the past and out of all the Tour Director (TD)/Tour Leaders (TL) I have met I would highly recommend Luke as a TD/TL. He has very strong communication skills, leadership skills, management skills, theatrical skills, and has common sense. With Luke, there are only solutions, not problems. He uses observational comedy to get the point across which is a skill many people do not have. A good guide can hold a mic and talk about what is outside the window on a motor coach but an excellent guide knows when to talk, what to talk about and when to shut up. Luke is a natural excellent guide!
Tips for USA Travelers:
1.) Bring a months worth of Protein Bars because European meals are the size of the appetizers in the states. Getting a quick bite to eat on your walk is a bit rough since the cities do not have many hot food/sandwich shops/deli's with a thousand options of fresh and hot food to take with you. You can not customize your food in the way you can do in the States. Just keep filling up on food as you go.
2.) If you looking for quality though expensive go shopping in Venice and Paris. You will be thankful that Walmart isn't going to blind you at every corner.
3.) Just do the excursions. This may be your only chance and its worth it.
4.) If you want this trip to be a more of a wild adventure, you can hug the naked statues, go shirtless (ladies too) and stick your body out the train window when riding to the top of Europe in Switzerland, jump into the Berlin fountains, go the Berlin nude clubs, experience the sauna's, do anything you wouldn't do back home ("that's legal").
5.) Find out when and where Luke is guiding and go on that tour.

My wife became ill during the last 2 days of our tour and Luke, Russel and all your staff made her feel as good as she possibly could, offering suggestions for locations to get medical help and or treatments. Extremely well organized, a curated experience-lovely adventure where all was taken care of and a nice balance of free time with included activities and optional activities. I have had bad experiences with previous tours and Luke and this tour has changed my opinion of tours. This tour of Scandinavia and Finland was brilliant and I would recommend it. Two recommendations: 1) Local guides should ALL have Whisper Systems. Some are really hard to hear, especially with a larger group and in some city areas. A couple of these were really hard to hear. 2) The Helsinki walks and local guide, Rebecca, was awful. Awful. We went over 2.5 hours in mid-day heat, was not given lunch break so it was 2:30 when we could finally eat. She walked extremely fast and did not wait for people-by the time the people in the back caught up she was walking again. No whisper system and she stopped in really loud intersections or by machinery so couldn't hear most of it. The pace was horrendous; we had a few older people who really struggled to keep up and I felt I was i training for a marathon; a fellow traveller said it felt like we were in a big hurry to go nowhere, another said boot camp exercise. She dragged us a long route to library when we could have taken a more direct shorter route or even taken tram to library to start. This was worst part of hole trip, 3people dropped out 25 minutes in. 5 of us left before it ended, maybe 30 minutes-found Luke and told him so he wasnt worried-and went for lunch,

We had a grand time—super guide/driver combination, excellent accommodations, great breakfasts and 3 evening meals were included, too.
We travelled Ireland in comfort and safety with Karl at the wheel. Luke skillfully developed our cultural and historical awarenesses. He kept us entertained with tales of giants and the ancients AND shared historical and current events with flair. So knowledgeable and theatrical was our man Luke!

This time was a 12 day Christmas and New Year's Europe Escape 2023/2024 and being the first time I was ever away from home for the holidays, it was truly magical, everything I imagined plus more. Our tour guide Luke was very personable, knowledgeable, caring and simply fun. He went out of his way to make sure each and everyone of us was well taken care of & provided plenty of ideas/options to us to get the most we could get out of each and every single day. Luke even dressed up as Santa Claus on Christmas Day!?! Our driver, James, was very professional, courtesies and when able, took the time to get to know us but always made it a priority to get us to our next destination as well as keep us safe. This tour is fast-paced with plenty of early morning departures and lots of walking but in doing so, the trade off is that you get to experience as much as possible in each of the various destination cities along the way. As a solo traveler, I never felt unsafe or alone and the camadarie of our group was instant. I appreciate that Expat Explorer allows you the freedom to decide between various pre-set excursions in the various destinations or the opportunity to explore on your own and/or even some combo of the two. If you are on the fence about one these tours, I say do your self a favor and just book it :) - Christie Fick

What a brilliant adventure 9 countries in 13 days all crammed into a whistle stop tour so well organised to include river trips (Seine, Rhine, Venice Grande Canal, Gondola), cable car and train rides,…What a brilliant adventure 9 countries in 13 days all crammed into a whistle stop tour so well organised to include river trips (Seine, Rhine, Venice Grande Canal, Gondola), cable car and train rides, bike hire in Amsterdam (optional) and with time to enjoy local cuisine (Waffles in Brugges a must), local crafts, great architecture and natural scenery. One day standing on the snow in a blizzard up a mountain in Switzerland and soon after baking in the Italian heat (well it was August). All in the capable hands of a great team - Luke our informative and entertaining tour leader and courtesy of driver Chris who boldly seemed to go where no coach driver may have gone before. Be prepared for mostly early starts and fighting for your breakfast, a good amount of walking and temperatures from -3 degrees to 35 degrees, but such great fun and still buzzing - would thoroughly recommend to tick a load off the bucket list.

First off, the company would not tell anyone the starting location until 2-3 days prior to the tour departing which was extremely frustrating for travellers trying to organise their travel arrangements and if planning on staying near where the tour commences, you can’t. Not only that, the lack of communication and organised preparation is extremely unprofessional and gives you no comfort or reassurance prior to the tour starting.
The tour was advertised to finish on Saturday the 19th Aug. but once all the travel documents came through, it became apparent that the tour technically finished on the Thursday night. This is poor. We paid for a two week trip. But Friday and Saturday weren’t included. So many of us, then, also had to purchase another nights accommodation (Friday) which was unexpected.
The tour itself was great! The tour leader, Luke was absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend him.
Another downside is that pretty much every “outing” cost an additional “excursion” fee on top. So basically paying for the tour covers the bus travel, hotels (some good, some average) and some dinners.

My husband knew I wanted to visit Europe and chose this tour as our honeymoon trip.
He had been on a tour before but this was my first time. I had no idea what to expect. We met the tour guide and other participants at the meeting point in London. From the get go, we could tell that our tour guide was an interesting guy. The orientation tour of London was a good synopsis of how the tour would run.
Luke, our tour guide, is very knowledgeable on the locations we visited through out the tour. He provided a lot of interesting facts and tips on each city. Even long driving hours were made interesting with select playlists and in a few instances, movies. The "sacred sleeping hours" were a big plus as the tour is very fast paced and we started our drives early morning.
In all, it was a fantastic experience. Be warned, it is very fast paced in terms of switching locations and the amount of walking required. I averaged around 16,000 steps a day. It was great opportunity to see a lot of cities in a short space of time.
We would definitely look into other Expat Explorer tours for future vacations.

The days were too long, we don't like eating at 8pm which happened regularly. This also didn't give us time to have a drink with others before bed which always helps. Because of your covid rules which didn't make sense, we didn't change seats daily which was definitely not fair to the people at the back of the bus (us) or the ones with a curtain blocking the view.

But, it gave us enough info and we visited enough places that we would feel comfortable choosing our own attractions and staying in cities for several days should we go back one day.
What was frustrating was having the tour paid off and then us needing to reschedule due to COVID and needing to pay extra due to the deal that was going on for the dates originally chosen and the sometimes delayed responses from tour radar customer service, though I'm sure that some of it was due to the time change and different holiday schedules. Overall I'm glad we went on this trip of a lifetime. If you've ever thought about going but thought it was too expensive, just do it. You won't regret it, and the payment plans make it much more affordable than you would think.

We loved how Luke regaled us with colorful stories of the places we visited, how he cared for everyone on the tour, and how he never tired of answering our questions. We want to highly commend our driver Lee Cox who brought us safely & jovially through all the backroads & cities we visited! Luke & Lee worked together to help us enjoy our visits! We really enjoyed The Merry Ploughboys but were disappointed with the Scottish entertainment & meal. As the Director for Things To Do in Las Vegas, I would go on any tour featuring them… and I’m notoriously picky. That being said, Merry Ploughboys and the Highlander excursion were crammed so close together, it was a safety hazard. Some of the hotels were not nice at all. The rest of it was really great. It made our honeymoon turn from an ordinary trip into a fantastic one, solely by the positive interactions between the driver Lee and our tour guide Luke Schwartz. You could really tell they enjoyed their work and took pride in what they did. It was a really nice coach with air conditioning and Lee took pride in keeping it super clean. I would go on as many of these tours as possible as long as they’re the ones doing it.

What attracted me to this tour was the itinerary of places being my first time in Europe - it certainly didn’t disappoint with multiple ‘Wow’ moments every day - highlights being the Swiss Alps Experience going up to Jungfraujong, Conquering the Capital (Rome), Paris+ and the dip in Lake Brien!
The travel schedule is quite robust and some days were long with early mornings and timelines, but this was because of well thought out included tours, activities and the option of additional experiences for locations. There was the balance of free time also to be able to do a little exploring yourself.
Some days were long, but this was balanced out by seeing so many things, and having a brilliant team looking after our group of 40 travellers.
At the end of it, the stats were - 12 days, 8 countries and over 3000 miles (if I remember correctly as we were returning to Greenwich)... which is phenomenal!

On tour, everyday brought something new and our tour leader Luke W and driver Chris D were brilliant.

If you are looking for a tour that gives you a taste of Europe, to see new things and to inspire further travel, this is the one.

Most days we left our accommodation by 7:/7:30am and didn’t get to rest until after dinner, spending less than 12 hours in most hotels, some of which were much less than expected. With such a packed itinerary, most of the travellers, especially the older ones, were exhausted by the time we reached Dijon. Verona was interesting but didn’t add to the tour - the walk-in was too long and tiring and the main attraction was just too crowded, and Venice was rushed with no explanation of the more interesting sights. The tour bus was too cramped - my knees were pressed against the seat in front and my surgical scar from knee replacement surgery became quite sore; my daughter who has long legs had to sit with her legs splayed. Fortunately, the bus was not full and we were able to have separate rows and sit with legs to one side. Our bus driver, Samuel, was absolutely the best - courtly, attentive without being intrusive, an excellent driver with an accurate knowledge of the route and a true gentleman. He helped make the tour more enjoyable. As a suggestion, this tour required a great deal of stamina and, I think, is not interesting enough for ones younger than 18 or slow enough for a fit 70.
