Western USA Family Trips/Tours Reviews
- Spectacular Canyons and National Parks (End Denver)
We were given so much information ahead of time about the places we were headed. Whether it be a national park, we always had info about where bathrooms, snack bars and/or tshirts were! Stephen McNally did a wonderful job of keeping our schedule and Mark, the driver, was always kind and both were professional at all times! We've been on many cruises where you can see unique sights somewhat at a distance. This trip, in spite of living out of our suitcases, was one for the books that we will never forget! Great organization showed itself over and over during our 13 day trip!
- Spectacular Canyons and National Parks (End Rapid City)
We saw many of the most spectacular landforms in the area. Every day was better and better! Thoroughly recommend this itinerary.
- Wonders of the American West (Classic)
Did everything we wanted
What our customers ask about Western USA Family Tours & Vacation Packages
What is the best time of year to visit Western USA with children?
Late spring (May-June) or early fall (September-October) offer the most comfortable conditions for family travel to Western USA with milder temperatures and fewer visitors. During peak summer the heat can be challenging particularly at destinations like the Grand Canyon where temperatures often reach above 100°F. Travel data shows families tend to book most frequently between May and September. A TourRadar review notes: "The weather was perfect in September and we got to enjoy all the outdoor activities without the intense summer heat."
What are the best family-friendly activities and attractions in Western USA?
The national parks of Western USA provide endless opportunities for family adventures. Children can watch the predictable eruptions of Old Faithful at Yellowstone or spot free-roaming bison and elk. For overnight stays the Great Salt Lake Lodge serves as a convenient family base with swimming facilities and child-friendly meal options.
