Botswana and Namibia Tours & Trips
Africa doesn't get much wilder. Victoria Falls pounds so hard you can hear it from miles away, the Okavango Delta's waterways wind through wilderness you won't believe, and the Chobe River's teeming with elephants. Paddle through channels where hippos lurk, climb Dune 45 as the sun comes up, spot massive herds in Savuti, watch the light change over Fish River Canyon. Truly amazing.

The itenerary was not always followed. The most egregious problem was staying 250 km (3 hrs.) on an extremely rough road from the gate of sossusvlei (dunes). It also made the day before about 150 km longer and the day after 100km longer. Neither accommodation listed on the itinerary was used. We also didn't get a half day in the delta that was on the itinerary. I will send a more detailed evaluation to trip advisor when we finish our trip.

I've never camped for that long before and it was an incredible experience! So glad I got to see so much of Botswana and still Namibia and Zimbabwe as well.

The longer 19-21 day journeys through these countries prove most popular in summer, making the most of ideal conditions. Wildlife viewing peaks from September through November, when animals gather around Etosha's waterholes and game sightings become nearly guaranteed. Safari vehicles set out during the cooler morning and evening hours, perfect timing for climbing Sossusvlei's red dunes and exploring Spitzkoppe's dramatic formations. Our travelers especially appreciate transitioning from active game drives to peaceful sundowners beside floodlit waterholes. The Okavango Delta truly shines in this season - mokoro canoe rides through clear channels bring you close to hippos, crocodiles and countless birds. Autumn timing works perfectly for Chobe National Park, where large elephant herds congregate along riverbanks. We keep our groups intimate at 12-16 people and use elevated safari vehicles with generous windows that photographers appreciate. Most guests choose our mixed accommodation packages that blend camping with lodges, giving them authentic experiences and comfort in key locations.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
September through November really hits the sweet spot for touring both countries. The dry season in Etosha National Park works in our favor - the animals gather around waterholes, making wildlife spotting practically guaranteed. You'll find it's just right temperature-wise for climbing those rusty-colored dunes at Sossusvlei and exploring Spitzkoppe's rock formations. Our clients particularly love how the evenings unfold, moving from active game drives to relaxed sundowners near the lit-up waterholes. The Okavango Delta stays are a highlight this time of year. You'll glide through clear water channels in traditional mokoro canoes, getting close-up views of hippos, crocs and hundreds of bird species. The camping is excellent too - there's something special about drifting off to sleep while elephants and antelope wander past your unfenced campsite. Our guides have perfected the art of positioning vehicles just right for those delta sunset shots everyone wants to capture. The autumn timing works well for Chobe National Park, where big elephant herds congregate along the river. We mix it up with morning wildlife drives and afternoon boat trips. When you head up to Victoria Falls, the water levels are just right - good for both seeing the falls and trying out activities like rafting or river cruises. Our travelers often mention how much they enjoy the balance between wildlife watching and cultural experiences such as walking with San Bushmen or visiting local villages. The most popular autumn tours run for 19-21 days, giving proper time to both countries. We use safari vehicles with elevated seats and big windows that photographers love. Groups stay small at 12-16 people, which means we can stop whenever interesting wildlife appears. You can choose between camping, lodges or our mixed trips that combine both - though most of our clients go for the mixed option since it offers the best of both worlds at key locations.

- Winter 2026 / 2027
Winter safaris through Namibia and Botswana run between 18 and 23 days, giving you perfect timing for game viewing at Etosha National Park during dry season. Our travelers love watching lions, elephants, zebras and other wildlife gather at lit-up waterholes in the evening hours. These longer routes blend camping beneath winter's clear skies with strategic lodge stays, taking you through the Okavango Delta's channels by mokoro canoe and along the Chobe River to see the planet's biggest elephant herds. Many tours start your day climbing Dune 45 for that crisp winter light, before heading out to track desert-adapted elephants through Damaraland. The 19-21 day journeys prove particularly well-balanced, with scheduled wildlife watching, village visits to Himba communities and also walks with San guides. Winter's mild temperatures make it ideal for scaling Sossusvlei's rust-colored dunes and discovering Spitzkoppe's dramatic rock formations, while nearly guaranteeing wildlife sightings as animals cluster around the remaining water sources.
