Adventure & Adrenaline Tours & Trips in Latin America
Latin America adventure tours usually mean Central America or South America specific, and they cover some serious ground. How about Cancun or Antigua, checking out Isla Mujeres, Playa del Carmen, Tulum beaches and ruins, Caye Caulker, Tikal, and Semuc Champey? Or the Galapagos, with Quito, San Cristóbal sea lions, Sierra Negra volcano, and Kicker Rock. The list goes on, and adventure here means variety, constantly changing landscapes, and experiences.

I booked this trip as a celebration of myself, doing a trip that involved every activity that I enjoyed doing plus a chance to experience a new country and culture. It surpassed my expectations! All details were taken care of, the accommodations were homey and authentic, and the ability to see and experience so much of Peru’s wonders was amazing. In addition, our guide, Wilbert, was the best guide I’ve had. He was patient, caring, and intent on making sure we understood the history and significance of the sites in Peru. I am so happy that I chose this tour.
Peru Explorer 8 Days – Lima, Andes & Inca Jungle Adventure to Machu Picchu (with Local Flights Included)Just spent 2 weeks in Costa Rica and had the most incredible time. Ceci was amazing, her knowledge and passion for sharing the country shone through. She went above and beyond, making each of us feel special. The trip had a great mix of nature, adventure and the beach making sure we got to see all that Costa Rica had to offer. Would highly recommend this trip to anyone looking for a great balance of activities.
Costa Rica AdventureThis has been my second adventure with The Dragon Trip, and I would definitely come back to Argentina, it's by far the best country I've ever had the pleasure of travelling to. I cannot thank the adventure leaders enough for taking the time to help us learn about their beautiful country, Buenos Aires - Please make sure you attend Majos Spanish lesson, it's fun and it really helped me learn, she's passionate about teaching and it'll help you throughout the country. Ushuia - Listen to Pamela and her advice about hiking, if she says you need different clothing, get the different clothing, go rent it, it's super cheap.

What our customers ask about Adventure & Adrenaline Tours & Trips in Latin America
When is the best time to go on an Adventure tour in Latin America?
Adventure tours in Latin America are most enjoyable from September through March in most regions. The Chilean Lake District draws visitors from December to March for outdoor activities near Pucon while Peru's Andes are clearest and driest from May to October. A TourRadar traveler shared their March experience at Machu Picchu: "The weather was perfect for hiking and exploring the ruins in March not too hot or wet."
What types of accommodation can I expect on a Latin America Adventure tour?
Lodging options range from standard 3-star hotels to nature-focused eco-lodges. Travelers might find themselves at places like Laguna Lodge in Costa Rica's Tortuguero National Park or Casa Andina in Peru's Sacred Valley which offers mountain views and authentic local design elements. A TourRadar guest noted: "The mix of hotels was perfect - from luxury lodges in the Amazon to charming guesthouses in small towns."
How much spending money should I budget for a Latin America Adventure tour?
Daily expenses beyond tour inclusions typically run 50-75 USD covering meals personal costs and souvenirs. Extra activities need separate budgeting such as volcano hikes in Chile (100 USD) or Costa Rica rafting trips (75 USD). Some destinations have mandatory fees like the Galapagos Islands park entrance (100 USD) while major cities such as Buenos Aires offer more budget-friendly daily costs.
What vaccinations and health precautions are needed for Latin America Adventure tours?
Medical preparation usually includes Hepatitis A Typhoid and Yellow Fever shots particularly for Amazon travel. High-altitude destinations require special attention with places like Cusco at 3400m and La Paz at 3640m. Properties such as Sonesta Posadas del Inca in Puno specialize in helping guests adjust to elevation changes.
What wildlife might I encounter on a Latin America Adventure tour?
The region's biodiversity includes Galapagos giant tortoises and Costa Rican howler monkeys. Specific wildlife spots include Tortuguero National Park where sea turtles nest from July to September and tropical birds appear year-round. Water activities like snorkeling at Los Tuneles in the Galapagos reveal varied marine life.
How much interaction with local communities can I expect?
Tours regularly connect visitors with local culture through indigenous market visits in Cusco and family homestays near Guatemala's Lake Atitlan. Local expertise comes through at places like Deja Vu lodge in Galapagos where resident guides share environmental and cultural knowledge. As one TourRadar traveler mentioned: "The local community visits were highlights - especially learning traditional cooking methods in Peru."
