What people love about Thailand, Cambodia And Vietnam Tours
- Grand Indochina and Thailand Adventure 25-Day
This trip was an incredible 25 days experience for my husband and me. We appreciate all that Legand Tours Danny Nguyen (our tour coordinator) did to make our experience the best. He really solved every concern we had with an amazing quick response and his expertise and kind ability. There are many people we want to acknowledge. In Vietnam our guide Own and driver “F” were great. Traffic was crazy with all the scooters but we felt safe and arrived on time to each planned stop. We saw the palace and mausoleum, climbed in the war tunnels and cruised the Mekong Delta and Halong Bay to mention a few highlights. In Laos our tour guide Savai was fantastic. He arranged for us to be a part of the 6am morning pilgrimage of the monks and for us to take part in contributing to their breakfast collection with sticky rice and cookies. This was an amazing experience to join this tradition. We had a very good driver in Laos, Keat. We loved the cave exploration and the river cruise and the Khouangsi waterfall. The food at lunch was delicious. Our guide in Cambodia, Sam, was our favorite. Sam is extremely knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. Land was our driver in Cambodia and he always had cold water and infused cold cloths waiting in the car for us. Very much appreciated. It was very hot when we hiked around the many pagodas and temples (Wat) in Cambodia and visited the floating villages on Tonie Sap Lake. Pond was our guide and Jar our driver in Thailand. The days we had in Thailand were some of our favorite: one day was a 5 Mike hike in the National Park, visiting the elephant sanctuary- feeding and giving them a bath in the river was a blast and the white water rafting trip was fantastic fun. We spent a day snorkeling and relaxing at Phi Phi Islands. We ended our journey with relaxing beach time in Phuket. It was a well organized trip with diverse adventures- historical and new. We loved every minute and we want to thank your wonderful staff.
- South East Asia Loop
This tour was an excellent way to see Indochina with great guides and their knowledge, activities, accommodation what more could you ask for.
- South East Asia Loop
The Great Indochina Loop actually consists of three smaller tours. The Thailand Laos tour, The Southbound Vietnam, and the Cambodia tour. If I had to rate the trip as a whole I would say it was a great trip! I had excellent tour leaders, and the travelers on my tours were great as well. Ages ranged from about 23-60 yrs old. But the median age was 30s which was great. The accommodations in Laos weren't the best, but it really got better in Vietnam and (surprisingly) Cambodia. None of the places were gross or unfit for sleeping though! The cities we visited were all very interesting and I had a lot of fun in each one. Even in the stopover town Pak Beng in Laos. However, they were all in very touristy places. Which is good and bad I suppose. Good in that the locals were able to accommodate us better and knew some English, but bad because it felt like an outsider's perspective at best. I think if I really wanted to get an authentic feel, I would have to travel without a tour group and spend more time in each city. Although, that is not to say it was inauthentic, it was just...not as authentic as it could have been. Looking back, I am glad I did a tour group instead of travelling alone through Mainland SE Asia. I just think that the tour guide really adds a lot of background information to the cities and the included activities. It was like having insider information that you would not get going by yourself or with a small group. We went during the Thai and Laos New year which was amazing. We learned a lot about how they celebrate during this time from our tour leaders Arjan and Tui. The tour leaders also take care of you if something happens and they speak the local language which can be super helpful if something happens or even at restaurants. Additionally, I think on an Intrepid tour it is easier to book smaller activities that you may not find out about otherwise. Yes they make a commision, but some of the optional activities were great value for your money. LIke cooking classes in Chiang Mai, bike tours, the bowl boat experience in Vietnam etc. The pace at the beginning of the Vietnam tour was very rushed feeling. A lot of people were just starting the Vietnam tour, but me and a few others were continuing on from Laos. Once we flew into Hanoi, it felt like non stop moving. I thought it was a bit stressful. I preferred the pace in Thailand/Laos and Cambodia. I think maybe an extra night in Hanoi for the people continuing on from Laos would have been ideal, even if it meant a night without a tour leader. I had a not so great experience in Central America on an Intrepid tour, and was hesitant to do another long tour like this one. However, The Great Indochina Loop was completely different. I loved having local tour leaders! They really made the difference. Arjan Boonyoung (Thailand), Tui (Laos), Hoàng Trung (Vietnam), and Sam Pich (Cambodia) were the best tour leaders ever! They all worked VERY hard to ensure we all had a great time and were well taken care of! They all were so patient and listened to each of us and took care of our concerns and questions. I felt very lucky I was travelling with such a cool bunch of fellow travelers as well. Some of my favorite memories were Songkran in Chiang Mai, the white temple in Chiang Rai, the slow boat tour in Thailand and Laos, Luang Prabang markets and local culture, kayaking in Vang Vieng, nightlife in Hanoi, the beauty of Halong Bay, the cyclo tour and culture tours in Hue, the markets and food in Hoi An, the coffee and hustle and bustle of Saigon, and the ANGKOR WAT tour was absolutely amazing. I made many more memories thanks to great tour leaders and friends I met on the way, but these are the ones that stand out the most.
Travel Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam your way
Our multi-country tours through Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia run between 16 and 38 days, combining real cultural experiences with plenty of outdoor activities. Picture yourself paddling through Halong Bay's limestone caves, cycling past rice fields in the Mekong Delta and taking a kayak out to find perfect snorkeling spots near Koh Rong's white beaches. Our travelers often tell us how much they enjoy the variety - one moment they're crafting traditional lanterns in Hoi An's old town and the next they're navigating bamboo rafts through Thailand's northern jungles. The local experiences tend to create the longest-lasting memories. You'll spend time with fishermen learning to catch crabs in coconut groves, join cooking classes to master regional dishes and sleep in floating bungalows on quiet lakes. Ninh Binh's countryside is particularly special - you'll cycle through endless rice paddies before taking small boats through river caves, all while limestone peaks tower overhead. The ethical elephant sanctuaries near Chiang Mai give you a chance to see rescued elephants living naturally. Down in Cambodia's Kampot area, you'll paddle kayaks past riverside villages, explore famous pepper farms, soak in the sunrise at Angkor Wat and visit bustling floating markets. Our customers consistently mention how well these active days complement the cultural experiences.
See all Active toursOur most popular routes really get under the skin of Southeast Asia. There's a fantastic journey that weaves through Bangkok's bustling street markets and temples before heading up to Chiang Mai where the night bazaars come alive after dark. People who've traveled with us talk about how special it feels gliding down the Mekong to Luang Prabang - watching monks collect alms at dawn becomes one of those moments you don't forget. Another route kicks off in Hanoi, mixing overnight train rides through Vietnam with stays in local homes down in the Mekong Delta. Our travelers keep telling us they love how the schedule balances guided activities with time to explore places like Hoi An's old quarter and Halong Bay's green waters on their own. The local guides make it extra special by sharing their own stories that make the history real.

106 tours in Thailand, Cambodia and VietnamOur Indochina small group cycling tours really get you into the heart of three countries over two weeks. You'll find yourself pedaling quiet country roads in Thailand, weaving through Phnom Penh's back alleys and also exploring village life in Vietnam's Mekong Delta. What our travelers really like is having a support vehicle following along - it means you can cycle as much or as little as you want. Another favorite combines cycling with river travel; you'll drift down the Mekong by day and hop on bikes to catch sunrise at ancient temples. Groups stay small at 16 people max, and our customers tell us it creates this lovely family feeling where everyone's comfortable suggesting quick stops at local markets or street food spots.

The 10-day Southeast Asia tour hits all the right notes while keeping things relaxed. Starting in Hanoi, you'll cruise overnight in Halong Bay where the mornings begin with tai chi on deck and afternoons are perfect for kayaking around those distinctive limestone formations. Down in Hoi An, our customers love mixing hands-on cooking classes with bicycle rides through local rice paddies, and there's plenty of time to discover the old town's Japanese bridge and Chinese temples. When you reach Cambodia, we've arranged two full days at Angkor Wat - with an air-conditioned vehicle and cold towels waiting between temples, which makes a real difference in the heat. The journey winds down in Phuket where you can choose between boat trips to nearby islands, waterfall hikes or just taking it easy on the beach. Our local guides are really good at reading the group and tweaking plans to match everyone's interests.

See all toursTwo weeks in Southeast Asia lets you really get under the skin of Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. The journey kicks off in Bangkok exploring local markets and temples before heading to the temples of Angkor. What makes these longer routes special is getting off the regular tourist track - you'll cycle through the Mekong Delta, spend nights with local families and learn traditional silk weaving techniques on Koh Dach island near Phnom Penh. Our travelers tell us they love how the trip mixes cultural experiences with active moments, from paddling around Halong Bay to cycling through quiet village roads. Having those extra days opens up some special experiences too - joining local monks for morning alms in Luang Prabang or cooking classes that start with market visits to pick your ingredients. Our Southeast Asia Discovery tours hit the right notes for solo travelers, balancing guided activities with personal time to explore. Starting in Bangkok, the route takes you through Cambodia and Vietnam where you'll meet fellow travelers while keeping your independence. The experiences range from watching the sun rise at Angkor Wat to trying street food in Phnom Penh and staying overnight in village homes. Travelers particularly enjoy swimming with glowing plankton off Koh Rong island and cycling through quiet countryside paths. The small group size means people often form real friendships while exploring night markets, joining cooking classes and also discovering hidden temples together.
Parents love how our Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand family journey spreads across three countries with activities that work nicely for different ages. The route weaves through the Mekong Delta where kids can explore by bike and boat, plus you'll find cultural moments like Vietnamese cooking classes that bring families together. The pace through Vietnam and Cambodia really suits teenagers, though getting around Thailand takes a bit more travel time. What makes this trip special is how it mixes temple visits at Angkor with practical experiences and also village stops where kids connect with local families.

Summer tours adapt nicely to Southeast Asia's warmer months. Our leading July-August journey starts in Hanoi and includes overnight trains down Vietnam's coast, which customers say adds real adventure to the trip - they love falling asleep to the rhythm of the rails and waking up in new cities. Another popular summer option focuses on water activities: you'll cruise Halong Bay, paddle through the Mekong Delta's channels, waterways and also swim at Koh Rong island in Cambodia. Families particularly enjoy our summer educational tour that includes visits to local schools, cooking classes and also traditional craft workshops. Two different routes combine temple exploration with beach time, carefully timed to avoid midday heat at Angkor Wat and include refreshing stops at waterfalls in Kuang Si and Elephant Falls.

Another favorite winter option runs for 18 days, focusing on Thailand's temples and Vietnam's coastal beauty. Our customers mention the excellent timing since T'et celebrations in Vietnam add extra cultural experiences during January and February. A third highly-rated winter route spends more time in Laos, where cool mornings are perfect for joining monks during alms-giving in Luang Prabang and cycling through rice paddies near Vang Vieng.
