- 4 Day Albany, ANZAC, Tree Top Walk and Margaret River
Overall it was a great tour with a driver who was very well informed about WA generally and gave us s very good commentary of the places we visited. The accommodation was all I wanted overall and I enjoyed the food. My only request would be to have dinner by 6.30 at the latest instead of later
What our customers ask about Western Australia Family Tours & Vacation Packages
What are the best family-friendly activities and attractions in Western Australia?
Families visiting Western Australia can enjoy numerous outdoor adventures across the region. At Monkey Mia children can interact with wild dolphins that swim close to shore while Ningaloo Reef offers safe snorkeling spots where visitors regularly spot over 500 fish species. The limestone formations at Pinnacles Desert provide an otherworldly backdrop for family photos and Willie Creek Pearl Farm shows visitors the art of pearl cultivation. Cable Beach in Broome has become a family favorite for its camel rides. As one TourRadar traveler noted "the kids absolutely loved watching the sunset from atop the camels." Educational stops include the Shark Bay Interpretive Centre and Aboriginal cultural programs at Yanchep National Park.
What are the most suitable accommodation options for families in Western Australia?
The region provides accommodation choices that cater to different family needs and budgets. Urban areas offer established hotels like the Oaks Broome while nature enthusiasts can opt for safari-style camping. The RAC Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort places families steps away from daily dolphin encounters. Along the Coral Coast the Ningaloo Coral Bay resort provides family rooms equipped with kitchens. According to TourRadar travelers "the accommodation was perfect for families especially the safari tents at Karijini National Park which gave kids a real outback experience while maintaining comfort and safety."
What is the best time of year for families to visit Western Australia?
Autumn (March-May) and spring (September-November) provide the most comfortable temperatures for family activities outdoors. The region comes alive with wildflowers in September and October particularly around Perth and the Wheatbelt area. Beach activities at Rottnest Island and Coral Bay are popular during the warmer summer months (December-February). Winter (June-August) brings whale watching opportunities along the coast and makes inland exploration of sites like Wave Rock more pleasant.
What is the ideal age range for family tours in Western Australia?
Tour operators typically welcome children from age 5 through teenage years. Activities adapt to different age groups and physical abilities. At Manning Gorge for instance kids can choose between swimming across the river or taking a pulley boat. The AAT Kings Western Wonderland tour accepts ages 5-99 while the Kimberley Family Holiday focuses on school-age children. A TourRadar family shared: "Our guide Sidney and Bianca were helpful kind and knowledgeable... perfect for keeping children engaged throughout the journey."
How long should families plan to stay in Western Australia?
A 7-10 day visit allows families to see key attractions at a comfortable pace. The "7 Days All-Inclusive Touring Grand Packages" covers Perth and nearby areas while extended trips of 10-14 days let families venture north to destinations like Monkey Mia and Kalbarri. One TourRadar traveler noted "The 7-day tour was perfect for our family with enough time to enjoy each location without overwhelming the children."
