Excellent guide and driver. Saw a lot of things I would not have on my own. Nice bus and great people to hang out with.

We thoroughly enjoyed the Iconic Ireland and Ashford Castle tour due to the energetic Daniel Henry, who was the ideal travel director. He was nothing short of spectacular by imparting his knowledge and keeping us entertained. The tour balances visiting sites and having free time to explore quite well. Did we love getting up early? No, but we were always thankful we did. Daniel ensured we arrived with time to enjoy the sites before they became swarmed with visitors. Our coach driver, Fergel McDermott, skillfully maneuvered the countryside, roundabouts, and narrow roads in the rain like the pro he is. The local specialists helped us further immerse ourselves in the Irish culture by being informed and engaged. The excursions truly enriched the experience, the hotels were comfortable, and the food enjoyable.

Our overall experience was very positive and our guide Brendan was wonderful. The stops on the tour were as advertised, well run on time and covered a large amount of a country we'd never visited before. Our only not as positive experience would be with the Granville Hotel in Waterford. The food was not very good, the elevator was exceedingly tiny that you could barely have 2 people with suitcases in it, and the bathroom faucets are off the age that they're are separate spigots for hot and cold making it difficult to regulate temperatures as they were also not close enough to mix the water streams in the sink.

What our customers ask about Ireland Family Tours
What are the best family-friendly attractions and activities included in Ireland tours?
From coast to castle Ireland's family attractions blend natural wonders with hands-on experiences. The towering Cliffs of Moher provide dramatic ocean views while horse-drawn jaunting car rides wind through Killarney National Park. Children can step back in time at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park or watch border collies herd sheep along the Ring of Kerry's seaside routes. The Irish National Stud lets families get close to thoroughbred horses and explore serene Japanese gardens. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "The tour was perfect for families - our kids loved the sheep dog demonstrations at the traditional farm and exploring the castle grounds". Family-friendly bases like the Clayton Hotel Ballsbridge in Dublin place guests near Phoenix Park Europe's largest urban green space.
What's the best time of year to visit Ireland with children?
Summer months draw the most families to Ireland with June through August offering reliable weather and school holiday timing. Visitor data shows July and August lead family bookings at 38 and 27 groups respectively. The Ring of Kerry and Dingle Peninsula benefit from extended daylight and mild temperatures during these peak months. Yet as one TourRadar traveler noted: "We visited in September with our kids and it was perfect - fewer crowds at places like the Cliffs of Moher but still pleasant weather for outdoor activities at Killarney National Park." Spring visits in April-May reveal Ireland's flowering landscapes with comfortable temperatures for exploring.
How flexible are the daily schedules on family tours in Ireland?
Tour itineraries mix guided activities with independent exploration time. A typical day might pair morning excursions like Killarney's jaunting car rides with afternoon free time based from central locations such as the Killarney Avenue Hotel. According to a TourRadar review: "The schedule is busy so we always left the sights wanting more but our guide was engaging attentive and knowledgeable." This format lets families adjust the pace to their needs.
What are the educational opportunities for children on Ireland tours?
Ireland's rich heritage creates natural learning moments throughout family tours. Children discover medieval stories at the Rock of Cashel marine science at the Cliffs of Moher visitor center and traditional agriculture at working farms. As one TourRadar traveler shared: "Our kids learned so much at the EPIC Irish Emigration Museum in Dublin and the guides made Irish history come alive at places like Bunratty Castle." Interactive elements like music sessions and hands-on historical sites keep young minds engaged while exploring Irish culture.
