Wonderful experience from start to finish! Guides were super knowledgeable and all of their crew very helpful with anything we needed. We trained a lot for this hike, but I give our group at least 50% credit for us reaching the summit. Lemosho Route is beautiful! I loved the forest and seeing all animals, flowers, birds, and giant trees, ferns, and vines. Simply gorgeous.

The Kilimanjaro climb was difficult but incredibly rewarding upon reaching the summit and the wonderful experience of the journey to the top. Our trip was enhanced by the exceptional support from Zara Tanzania Adventures. Everyone of the crew was genuinely interested in making our experience wonderful, safe, and memorable. They helped us navigate through the Lemosho course which had some tough sections. Lema, the chief guide, was a great leader, and he made sure that we were all well taken care of. What's the best time to climb Kilimanjaro?
You've got two really good windows for climbing Kili. January through March brings clear skies and cooler temps which is perfect for those crisp summit views and you'll likely catch some snow up top making it pretty spectacular. Then there's June to October when it's warmer and drier lots of people choose this time and you've got better chances of spotting wildlife in the lower forest areas.
Which route should I take up Kilimanjaro?
It really comes down to what kind of experience you're after and how comfortable you are with trekking. The Machame Route's super popular because it gives you more time to adjust to the altitude and the scenery is just incredible you'll go through these amazing forests and across the Shira Plateau. If you're not keen on camping the Marangu Route's got proper huts to sleep in though it's a bit tougher on acclimatization. The Lemosho Route's fantastic for taking it slow and steady with fewer crowds and amazing views while the Rongai Route coming up from the north side is quieter and generally easier on first-time climbers.
