What an experience sailing around the beautiful scenery that Croatia has to offer. From Kayaking around the Dubrovnik coastline, partying until the early hours in a club just off the beach to taking in the majesty of the Krka Waterfalls there is plenty of great experiences to suit a variety of travellers. Lead fantastically by team leader Becca who’s passion for the tour and sights was matched only by her infectious enthusiasm to make sure everyone was always having a great time. Couldn’t recommend higher.

I am only giving a 5* review because it’s not possible to give 10 ! This was a thoughtfully well organized, incredibly enjoyable, SPECTACULAR tour. Our leaders, Tonči and Toma are native Croatians who are totally familiar with the areas and have well deserved pride in the awesome natural beauty of their country. The amount of cycling was well balanced with time for enjoyment of FANTASTIC authentic Croatian meals and time to relax and unwind at end of day. From the time we landed in Split, Tonči and Toma took care of all the logistics and our needs. They went above and beyond in making sure we were set with accommodations even BEFORE our tour started with them in Split. Even after our tour ended and we extended our stay in Dubrovnik Tonci secured airport transfer for us. The accommodations were all 4 and 5 star and had great views. The cycling could have been quite challenging for me without an e-bike on some of those long hills…. .I am definitely glad I opted for one. Thankfully the support van was never far away and our guides were great in informing us of what was coming up. The group size was key to our enjoyment - Laganini tours are never more than 12. We were a total of 8 including our guides. In no time, we were well acquainted and had the opportunity to talk and have plenty of laughs I can’t wait to share my Laganini Croatian cycling experience with family and friends. They will be seeing us again for sure !

May is really the sweet spot for our island-hopping tours - the weather hits that perfect balance for exploring. We've got several well-rated tours that blend sailing with cycling, letting you pedal through Hvar's lavender fields in the morning and cool off with afternoon swims in quiet coves. The routes run 6-8 days from Split down to Dubrovnik, and you can choose daily rides between 25-45km depending on how energetic you feel. Our customers love stopping at family wine cellars and traditional olive oil makers on Korcula. If cycling isn't your thing, the yacht tours are a great way to discover hidden beaches and ancient harbor towns at your own pace. You'll find the spring temperatures ideal for hiking Mljet National Park and walking Dubrovnik's walls without fighting through summer crowds. The local skippers get fantastic feedback - they know exactly where to find those perfect swimming spots and authentic local restaurants that tourists usually miss.

Our island programs really open up in summer with something for everyone. Sailing tours head out from Split harbor several times a week, with options from cozy 8-person yachts to premium vessels featuring air-conditioned cabins and professional chefs. Most summer routes mix morning swims around the Pakleni Islands with afternoon visits to Vis's Greek ruins or Lastovo's beautiful Venetian buildings. We've created specific routes for younger travelers that combine island visits with evening entertainment in Hvar town and also Makarska's cave club. The summer BBQ nights in quiet bays are always a hit with our customers, along with guided walks through Korcula's medieval center. With support vessels nearby, you've always got a comfortable spot to rest between activities.

Looking at Croatia's top bike tour companies, Laganini stands out for getting the details right - their bikes are properly maintained, you'll sleep in quality hotels and the meals really showcase local Croatian cooking. Our travelers keep mentioning how much they enjoy those regional dishes after a good day's ride. Intrepid Travel's "Explore Croatia" tour has earned solid feedback, especially for their Croatian guide who knows exactly when to add those extra special touches. They're good at keeping everything running smoothly without making it feel too rigid or structured. TourRadar's combo trip "Croatian islands cruise + Land tour with Plitvice" has had some bumps - mainly last-minute switches with hotels and route changes that caught people off guard. But when it comes to the sailing portion, Katarina Line Cruises consistently delivers great service. Their ships are comfortable, the crew really takes care of their guests and they've picked some beautiful routes along the coast. The nice thing about Katarina Line is they've figured out those perfect sailing routes that let you see the islands without spending too much time at sea. Their crews know just how to balance organized activities with free time to explore.

What's the best way to discover Croatia's islands?
You'll want to go island hopping - it's really the perfect way to experience Croatia's stunning coastline. Most people spend anywhere from 3 to 10 days exploring and you've got plenty of options with regular ferries connecting all the major spots. You can either join an organized tour that takes care of everything or plan it yourself if you prefer going at your own pace. The Croatia Island Hopping tour runs for 8 days taking you through Split Brac Korcula and Dubrovnik while the Explore Croatia tour packs Dubrovnik Korcula Hvar and Split into an 8-day adventure.
Looking for hidden gems off the tourist track?
While Hvar and Korcula get lots of attention the Zadar archipelago is where you'll find pristine nature and amazing wildlife. Rab Island has this incredible medieval charm and hosts some really vibrant cultural events throughout the year. If you're into food and wine definitely check out Pag Island it's got some unique flavors you won't find anywhere else.
Want to experience authentic local traditions?
Head to Korcula Island where you can watch or even join in the Moreška sword dance - it's this centuries-old tradition they perform in the town squares during summer evenings. In the village of Zrnovo you can learn to make their traditional hand-rolled pasta called Zrnovo makaruni at a local konoba restaurant the Croatia Real Food Adventure tour includes this amazing experience.
Where can you find authentic spots away from the crowds?
Vis Island is perfect if you're looking to escape the tourist buzz with its hidden beaches and beautiful bays. Brac gives you a more genuine Croatian experience than busy Hvar and you can walk to the famous Zlatni Rat Beach from the nice hotels in Bol. The interior of Hvar Island has these fascinating abandoned villages like Velo Grablje and Malo Grablje where you can hike through lavender fields down to peaceful Milna Bay the Explore Croatia tour gives you a free day to do just that.
How do you get around the islands?
Ferries are your main transport option with schedules that change depending on when you're visiting and where you're heading. Water taxis are great for quick trips between nearby islands especially if you want to reach those secluded spots. If you're after something more flexible private boat tours let you customize your journey completely. The 6-Day Dalmatian Luxury Cycling Tour uses both ferries and private boats to reach Brac Hvar and Korcula giving you the best of both worlds.
