We are a group of 8 friends, 50 plus. We travel together each year and were looking for a tour that encompassed all of the Southwest Tours with an active focus. We like to walk and not be stuck stuck on a bus for hours and hours- this tour was PERFECT! We are so glad with found Bindlestiff. We booked the private tour as it was no additional cost with 8 people. The itinerary was exactly what we were looking for- exploring the parks with ample time, great hotels in prime locations and an expert local tour guide throughout. We enjoyed all of the parks equally as well as Monument Valley and spending the night along the rim of the valley at Gouldings Historic Lodge - the rooms have their own private balconies for optimal sunset and sunrise viewing! Magical in every way. We are already planning our 2027 vacation with Bindlestiff to Alaska.
Best of the West 11 Day National Parks Tour Camping from Las Vegas to San FranciscoSuch an amazing tour! my guide was one of the coolest people I've ever met, itinerary was perfect. I would recommend this to everyone i come across travelled alone, 19 years old, female, I felt safe the whole time.
California Dreaming: Yosemite, Death Valley & Coastal CampingWe had an amazing week! Sam was an excellent tour guide-he was friendly, knowledgeable, organized, and went out of his way to be helpful. Each of the hotels booked by Bindlestiff was clean and comfortable. We got lucky and created a great family with the other guests (there were 7 total guests). This trip was a perfect experience for our family to get a taste of multiple, amazing parks. I definitely recommend adding the tour in Antelope Canyon. We didn't do the helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon, but another passenger said it was excellent. The hummer tour in Moab was more intense than I expected- decide according to your tolerance for adventure. Overall, I very highly recommend this tour through Bindlestiff.

What our customers ask about Camping Holidays in USA
When is the best time to go camping in USA National Parks?
The optimal window for camping in USA national parks runs from June through September. Yellowstone sees pleasant daytime temperatures in summer though nights can drop to near freezing. The peak months of July and August bring ideal conditions to Yosemite according to TourRadar travelers. For desert parks like Zion spring (March-May) or fall (September-November) offer more moderate temperatures than the intense summer heat. Park conditions vary greatly by region so checking local weather patterns before booking helps ensure a comfortable stay.
What kind of meals are provided on USA camping tours?
USA camping tours combine campsite cooking with local restaurant stops. Bindlestiff's 11-day Alaska tour includes a $265 food kitty covering 9 camp breakfasts 7 camp dinners and 11 picnic lunches. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "Our guide cooked amazing dinners at camp including an incredible campfire burrito recipe that made sure we had the best time ever." Tour guides often handle meal preparation making sure campers are well-fed throughout their journey.
What are the most popular USA camping destinations?
The national parks draw the most campers with Yosemite Yellowstone Grand Canyon and Denali leading the list. Each destination offers distinct natural features from Yosemite's towering granite walls to Denali's expansive wilderness. Popular spots like Upper Pines in Yosemite and Bridge Bay in Yellowstone provide quality facilities amid natural settings. One TourRadar traveler shared: "Camping in Denali was incredible - we saw grizzly bears moose and had the most amazing views of the mountains."
How physically demanding are USA camping tours?
Physical requirements vary between tours with most suited for people of average fitness. Yosemite offers both gentle valley walks and steeper climbs like the Mist Trail. Yellowstone trails typically cover 5-7 miles daily with elevation changes between 400-1400 feet. According to one TourRadar traveler: "The hikes were well-paced and our guide accommodated different fitness levels always accompanying the slowest hiker."
What wildlife might I see on a USA camping tour?
National parks offer rich wildlife viewing opportunities. Yellowstone's landscape teems with bison elk and grizzly bears. Denali houses moose caribou and Dall sheep. Near Yosemite's Tuolumne Meadows Campground black bears and mule deer regularly appear. A TourRadar traveler recalled: "During our Alaska camping tour we saw grizzly bears bald eagles and even had otters swim right up to our kayaks near Shoup Glacier."
How do bathroom and shower facilities work at USA campgrounds?
National Park campgrounds maintain modern comfort facilities. North Pines in Yosemite offers flush toilets and hot showers while Denali's grounds provide clean restrooms and coin-operated showers costing $1-3.
