Marie was wonderful. We saw & learned so much. I didn’t think there would be that much walking , walking on the paved streets was interesting. We were surprised when we got dropped off to wonder for several hours without previous warning. My only complaint is that we were not allowed to use the bathroom on the bus. We picked this tour over others because it clearly offered a bathroom on the bus. Very uncomfortable & limited coffee in the morning. The other issue was handling our own luggage. Especially hard when there were steps involved

I just finished an amazing 15-day tour through the Balkans, and I have to give a huge shoutout to our guide, Goran. From start to finish, he made this trip so smooth and fun. I had flight delays and some stressful arrival issues, and Goran kept in touch the whole time, making sure I felt comfortable and got to the group without a problem. We were lucky to have a small group, and Goran was awesome at listening to what we all wanted and adjusting things so everyone had the best time possible. He knows so much about the culture and history in all the areas we visited, and his recommendations for food and things to do during free time were always spot on. As a solo traveler, I really appreciated how welcome he made me feel. He went out of his way to take photos when I asked, explain the area so I felt confident exploring, and just made the whole experience feel easy and fun. Plus, Goran has a great sense of humor—our running “very nice” Borat impression became a theme of the trip and kept everyone laughing. I’d 100% recommend Goran as a guide and hope I get to do another tour with him someday. Very nice! Also Tour Radar was marvelous. They made booking easy. The itinerary was clear. They helped me book airport arrival and departure transfers. Customer service was available and effective when I needed them, especially in the beginning when I faced the flight issues. Thank you so much for helping me have a memorable trip I will talk about for years to come!

To be honest, part of what made the trip fantastic was our group of 12- could not have had a better group to travel with- which is clearly luck, but a piece of our group being so cohesive was Nejca, our guide. She was perfect! Available but not pushy. Laid back, but willing to assert herself to make our experience the best. She made each person in the group feel special and appreciated. Thank you, Nejca! The itinerary was quite good as well. Although there were places I could have stayed for a day longer, I think it’s important to not stay too long and feel like time is wasted on a certain place on the tour. Transportation was efficient and Nejca did a great job getting us to our destinations easily and without rushing. Accommodations were very good- with the exception of Prague. Although our apartment was nice, it was clear that the residents of Prague feel that their space is being taken over by tourists- which is clearly true. I would have preferred to have stayed in a hotel in Prague-honestly, I would have paid more for it. Other than that, cannot day enough good things about the trip! Thank you!!

What Kind of Local Food Can You Try in Central Europe?
You'll find amazing food all across Central Europe with each country putting its own spin on traditional dishes. Hungary's definitely known for goulash - it's this really hearty beef stew that'll warm you right up and you've got to try lángos which is this incredible fried bread topped with sour cream and cheese. The best places to find these are in Budapest's markets and local restaurants. Over in the Czech Republic you'll love their pierogi - these are like dumplings stuffed with meat cheese or potatoes and don't miss trdelník a sweet pastry that's roasted right in front of you in Prague's Old Town Square. Poland's got their own version of pierogi too plus amazing kielbasa sausages - try these at Krakow's milk bars and basement restaurants they're really authentic. Austria's famous for Wiener Schnitzel and if you've got a sweet tooth the Sachertorte is incredible especially at Vienna's traditional cafes. There's this really special place called Vollpension in Vienna where older locals work making coffee and cakes it's such a unique experience.

Getting around Central Europe's actually pretty straightforward. The train system's really efficient connecting major cities like Prague Vienna and Budapest - you'll love the scenic route from Berlin to Budapest through the Labe Valley. Buses are great if you're watching your budget especially for smaller towns. Big cities have metro systems and trams that make it super easy to explore. You can rent a car if you want more freedom but honestly parking in old city centers can be a bit tricky.
