We did a 26 day tour. For the most part, out itinerary was good. However, the travel could have been planned more efficiently. For example, we were a few hours from Cambodia by bus, yet we returned to our hotel and took a PM flight the next day to our destination. We lost a day of touring because of this. I'm wondering if Tour Radar used an AI app rather than thinking about this in depth. As expected, some guides were better than others. Overall, our guides were excellent. They were college educated with degrees in history and English. They had great communication skills and were pleasant. We had seven guides throughout our travels. Four guides were outstanding, one was good, one was fair and one was awful. Not bad. Our outstanding guides were responsive to questions, attentive, and knew the history of the country. One guide that we rated good had difficulty with English, but after listening to him for a few hours, we tuned into his accent and were good. One guide we rate fair knew English, but little of the history or topography of Laos. We could not understand the terrible guide. When he finished, he dropped us off at the train station and we had a four hour wait for our train. Poor planning on the part of Hoi An. For most part, out hotels were good and in the center of the city or at an accessible location. All our connections worked out well and the descriptions in the brochure about our itinerary were accurate. Food. You will get breakfast in the hotel and these are generally more than ample. When Hoi An says you get lunch, they have a $ limit on what you can get for lunch. When we started out, we had some really bad lunches because we didn't like what was offered under their budget. We ended up negotiating with them. We paid extra for lunches we chose that exceeded their budget for lunch. That way, we had a choice and actually ate our lunch rather than picking something that wasn't to our liking and then not eating the meal.
Southeast Asia 21-Day Highlights Tour - S

This trip was an incredible 25 days experience for my husband and me. We appreciate all that Legand Tours Danny Nguyen (our tour coordinator) did to make our experience the best. He really solved every concern we had with an amazing quick response and his expertise and kind ability. There are many people we want to acknowledge. In Vietnam our guide Own and driver “F” were great. Traffic was crazy with all the scooters but we felt safe and arrived on time to each planned stop. We saw the palace and mausoleum, climbed in the war tunnels and cruised the Mekong Delta and Halong Bay to mention a few highlights. In Laos our tour guide Savai was fantastic. He arranged for us to be a part of the 6am morning pilgrimage of the monks and for us to take part in contributing to their breakfast collection with sticky rice and cookies. This was an amazing experience to join this tradition. We had a very good driver in Laos, Keat. We loved the cave exploration and the river cruise and the Khouangsi waterfall. The food at lunch was delicious. Our guide in Cambodia, Sam, was our favorite. Sam is extremely knowledgeable and spoke perfect English. Land was our driver in Cambodia and he always had cold water and infused cold cloths waiting in the car for us. Very much appreciated. It was very hot when we hiked around the many pagodas and temples (Wat) in Cambodia and visited the floating villages on Tonie Sap Lake. Pond was our guide and Jar our driver in Thailand. The days we had in Thailand were some of our favorite: one day was a 5 Mike hike in the National Park, visiting the elephant sanctuary- feeding and giving them a bath in the river was a blast and the white water rafting trip was fantastic fun. We spent a day snorkeling and relaxing at Phi Phi Islands. We ended our journey with relaxing beach time in Phuket. It was a well organized trip with diverse adventures- historical and new. We loved every minute and we want to thank your wonderful staff.

- Summer 2026
From Ho Chi Minh City through Vietnam and into Laos, our popular 10-day circuit fits perfectly with summer travel patterns. In Luang Prabang, the peaceful morning light provides ideal conditions for watching monks collect alms, while you can spend afternoons learning local recipes in village cooking classes or drifting along Halong Bay on traditional junks. Those opting for our 15-day routes get to experience the Mekong Delta at a gentler pace, cycling past brilliant green rice paddies, exploring floating markets full of seasonal produce and visiting Angkor's ancient temples in the cooler morning hours. Our travelers appreciate how summer itineraries balance cultural experiences in the early hours with free time to wander places like Hoi An's historic streets at their own rhythm. The extended 21-day journeys include peaceful nights aboard premium vessels in Halong Bay, intimate cooking lessons with local families and also hands-on sessions where you'll master regional dishes like cao lau noodles using ingredients from Hoi An's vibrant markets.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
Autumn's a fantastic time for our full 30-day circuit from Bangkok. Post-monsoon brings fewer tourists and really nice light for photos - great for capturing monks collecting alms in Luang Prabang's misty mornings or late light at Angkor. The 18-day cultural route works nicely for mixed groups, balancing guided activities with independent exploration. Our customers particularly enjoy Hoi An's cooking classes when the markets are full of fresh seasonal produce. The 16-day highlights tour makes sense in autumn when sites are less crowded. Recent visitors loved exploring Hanoi's Old Quarter in cooler temps and taking Ha Long Bay overnight cruises with ideal kayaking conditions. For those wanting more action, the 15-day route includes village cycling and national park hikes when trails are drier after the rains. The 10-day express option rounds things off well - you'll check out Mekong Delta floating markets, explore quieter Angkor temples and cruise to hidden Mekong caves in mild and pleasant weather.

- Winter 2026 / 2027
Winter's really the sweet spot for exploring Indochina, especially from November through February. Our 29-day circuit lets you take it slow when temperatures are just right. The overnight trains are a highlight - you'll drift off and wake up to misty views over rice paddies between Bangkok and Chiang Mai, and later between Hanoi and Hue. If you're pressed for time, the 15-day route focuses on temples in the cool, dry season. Getting to Angkor Wat early means beating both crowds and heat, plus you'll find perfect conditions for cycling through Mekong Delta villages and their bustling floating markets. The 21-day cultural route hits a nice balance in winter, mixing structured temple visits with free time to explore. Recent travelers tell us they loved this flexibility. Ha Long Bay overnight cruises are particularly good this time of year - cool evenings make for great kayaking through limestone caves and sleeping under clear night skies. For a quicker trip, the 10-day tour efficiently covers key sites while weather's on your side. You'll explore Luang Prabang's morning markets, take quiet Mekong tributary cruises and join monks for their morning alms ceremonies.

- Spring 2027
Spring lets you experience Indochina at its finest, with perfect weather and fewer tourists around. Our comprehensive 29-day journey from Bangkok takes full advantage of post-monsoon conditions, giving you exceptional morning light to photograph monks collecting alms in Luang Prabang and soft evening sun at Angkor's temples. The 18-day cultural routes balance guided activities with free time to explore, and you'll find Hoi An's markets bursting with seasonal ingredients for cooking classes. A 16-day highlights tour becomes even better when sites are less crowded, creating ideal conditions to discover Hanoi's Old Quarter and paddle through Ha Long Bay. Active travelers tend to choose our 15-day route with village cycling and national park hikes, especially now when the trails stay dry. Those with tighter schedules appreciate the focused 10-day journey covering essential stops like Mekong Delta floating markets, quieter Angkor temples and hidden Mekong caves in mild, pleasant conditions. The overnight trains between destinations add authenticity to your journey, offering misty morning views across rice paddies between Bangkok and also Chiang Mai.
