What people love about Mount Annapurna Tours
- Annapurna Circuit Trek 12 Days
Trekking in Nepal is one of the most wonderful activities. The Annapurna circuit is amazing because you get to see all types of climate and vegetation and interact with several sub cultures. The guide was always explaining details about the culture, the people and the nature we were seeing. He was kind and always cheerful. He took good care of us. The food in the tea houses is not very creative but it is good and the guide would always tell us which dish is better in which place. The views are breathtaking and it is surprising how the guide could identify all the peaks.
- Annapurna Kora Trek
Me and my four other friends went to Annapurna Circuit Trek during March 2022. We really had a great time and experience. The team at World Travel Experiences worked very professionally, itinerary design and content were perfect to match the available time and an options for side trip. We will definately travel with WTX whenever we plan a visit to Nepal.
- Annapurna Circuit Trek
I highly recommend this company as we did the Annapurna Circuit Trek. We were taken care of from start to finish. Each and every question were quickly answered, we were all picked up and dropped to the airport. The trek itself was wonderful. I'm usually responsible for all aspects of our family trip. The planning, meals, rest stops were made by Peregrine Treks and were all of the best quality.

The Annapurna Base Camp trek gives serious mountain lovers exactly what they're after with soaring snow-capped peaks, genuine cultural moments and properly challenging hiking days that pay off big time. Our trekkers keep telling us about those magical mornings at Poon Hill, where first light hits the whole Annapurna range in shades of gold. You'll walk through some incredible changes - starting in thick forests full of rhododendrons, winding through mountain villages and finally reaching that massive natural amphitheater at base camp. The hot springs at Jhinu Danda are a real treat after long hiking days, and our customers really appreciate that natural muscle therapy. While you might find the food simple and a bit expensive along the way, the local guides are fantastic at sharing all the details about the area's rocks, traditions and where to get those perfect shots.
See all Annapurna Base Camp toursThe Annapurna Circuit really stands out as Nepal's top trek, and our travelers keep telling us about the incredible changes they experience through different climate zones and local cultures. You'll walk from subtropical valleys with their rice paddies, move up through forests full of rhododendrons and find yourself in high-altitude desert landscapes. After long days of walking, you can soak tired muscles in natural hot springs while the guides show you the massive peaks of Manaslu, Dhaulagiri and also Annapurna II. What makes this route special is how it mixes physical challenges with real cultural connections - you'll walk through traditional Gurung villages, stop at ancient Buddhist monasteries and share cups of tea with local families. The tea houses along the way leave a lasting impression on our trekkers, who often mention the warm hospitality they receive, plus the traditional Dal Bhat that keeps them going on the trail. You'll want to set aside 14-21 days for the full circuit, which gives you proper time to adjust to the altitude and really connect with the local culture.

The Annapurna region offers several distinct trekking paths, each with its own character and challenges. The full Annapurna Circuit gives you the most complete experience, taking you from lush subtropical forests right up to high desert plateaus. Our groups really appreciate stopping at Manang's largest monastery - it's a cultural highlight that breaks up the walking nicely. If you're looking for something more direct, the Annapurna Base Camp trek cuts straight to the range's core, where our guides lead small groups through rhododendron forests and Gurung villages. Those new to Himalayan trekking often choose the Ghorepani route; it's got shorter daily walks and excellent cultural stops along the way. The Mardi Himal path is our quiet achiever - you'll see fewer other trekkers but still get those close-up views of Machapuchare and also the Annapurna peaks.
The Annapurna region isn't just about walking - there's quite a mix of active experiences here. Mountain bikers can follow old trade routes, and our cyclists say the technical descent from Thorong La Pass at 5,416m is worth every bit of the tough climb up. We've got some interesting combinations too: yoga treks with daily sessions by the Modi River (with some optional rafting if you're up for it), and programs that mix high-altitude hiking with jeep safaris around Pokhara's lakes and caves.
Mountain biking has opened up a whole new way to experience the Annapurna Circuit. The full route takes 14 days, starting with some easier rides around Kathmandu Valley before taking on the main challenge - cycling up to Thorong La Pass at 5,416 meters, the highest rideable pass in the world. Our cyclists tell us reaching the top makes all the effort worthwhile, though you should know you'll probably carry your bike for about half the high-altitude sections. The trail mixes technical descents with more relaxed valley riding, and the guides know all the perfect spots to stop for a soak in natural hot springs. You'll need some mountain biking experience under your belt to handle the rough trails and altitude, but don't worry - the support team carries oxygen and knows exactly how to pace things for different skill levels.
The Annapurna region offers some really special explorer treks that mix challenging trails with genuine local connections. On the classic circuit, you'll wind through oak forests to reach Ghorepani, where joining the 4:30am climb to Poon Hill pays off with an incredible sunrise over Dhaulagiri and the Annapurna peaks. A lot of our travelers opt for the direct route to Annapurna Base Camp, staying in traditional tea houses along the way - the Sherpa guides here have walked these paths countless times and love sharing their knowledge over dinner. We've also designed a women's trek that combines the mountain experience with cooking lessons from Buddhist nuns and visits to local women's cooperatives. What makes these routes special is how naturally they flow between the physical challenge and cultural moments - you might find yourself learning to make momos with Tibetan refugees or quietly observing morning prayers in a mountain monastery.

The 3-day treks give you a quick but authentic taste of Annapurna. Take the Dhampus Village Trek through terraced fields to reach traditional Gurung villages, where families welcome you into their lodges each evening. Another great 3-day option starts at Nayapul and leads to Poon Hill - yes, it's 3,381 stone steps up, but our travelers say the sweeping views of Dhaulagiri and Annapurna make those burning legs worthwhile. We've also got routes mixing cultural stops at Bindabasini Temple with easy walks around Phewa Lake and also peaceful nights in mountain villages like Sarangkot.

A week in Annapurna lets you dig deeper into the region. The Mardi Himal trek winds through thick forests where you might spot Nepal's national bird, the Lophophorus, before reaching high viewpoints at 4,200m. The classic route to Annapurna Base Camp takes you through Bamboo, Dovan and other villages while giving your body time to adjust to the altitude. Our guests often mention how the guides know exactly when to push and when to rest, making these demanding trails feel doable. Nights are spent in carefully picked tea houses, usually gathered around wood stoves sharing trek stories over steaming bowls of dal bhat.

Ten days really lets you settle into mountain living. You'll start in Kathmandu with time for UNESCO sites before hitting the trails. The route typically goes through Ghorepani, up to Poon Hill for sunrise and continues to villages like Tadapani, Ghandruk where you'll learn about Gurung culture. Our travelers love having extra days for detours - whether that's relaxing in Jhinu Danda's hot springs or exploring the Annapurna Conservation Museum. These longer trips include time in Pokhara too, perfect for rowing on Phewa Lake and visiting the World Peace Pagoda after your trek.
Demographics
Young travelers connect naturally with Annapurna Circuit tours that blend physical challenges and authentic cultural insights. Our hikers tell us that crossing Thorong La Pass at 5,416 meters delivers pure accomplishment mixed with wonder, while evenings at local tea houses create natural bonds with fellow trekkers. First-time Himalayan visitors often choose Ghorepani Poon Hill treks, where manageable daily walks combine with village visits, sunrise viewpoint climbs and evenings sharing stories with other adventurers beside warm wood stoves. The full circuit takes things up a notch with technical challenges including icy river crossings, high-altitude passes and significant elevation changes that test your limits. Young groups particularly appreciate our guides who weave deep cultural knowledge into each day, especially around Manang, where monastery visits and meditation sessions provide welcome breaks between challenging hiking stretches. The small group dynamic on these routes often creates lasting friendships that become just as significant as the mountain panoramas themselves.

Best time to visit Mount Annapurna
- Winter 2025 / 2026
The winter trails through Annapurna offer something special - you'll find fewer people and incredibly clear views of the mountains. The Ghorepani Poon Hill circuit really comes into its own this season, with quiet paths winding through oak and rhododendron forests. That crisp morning air makes sunrise at Poon Hill particularly memorable. For the Annapurna Circuit, we build in extra days for proper altitude adjustment, and our guides keep close watch on weather patterns to adjust routes when needed. Small groups heading to Base Camp via Poon Hill get to mix steady hiking with stops in Gurung villages, and we maintain safety with emergency oxygen for the high sections. The tea houses are nicely quiet in winter, though you'll want to prepare for some frozen facilities around Thorong La Pass.

Spring transforms the Annapurna region with rhododendrons bursting into bloom and perfect hiking conditions. Our travelers really enjoy the Circuit trek now - crossing suspension bridges over the swelling rivers and watching local farmers start working their terraced fields. The Base Camp routes are at their best, following well-kept trails from lush valleys right up to the glacial areas. Many guests choose tours with rest days in Manang, where you can join meditation sessions at Buddhist temples and explore old monasteries. The Sanctuary trek works particularly well in spring, mixing challenging hiking with stops at natural hot springs, village visits and time in traditional Magar communities.

- Summer 2026
The summer monsoon brings out a different Annapurna, with green hillsides and dramatic cloud patterns. Our guides have refined several routes that work well in these conditions - shorter Poon Hill treks catch the clear morning views, then mix in visits to Gurung villages when afternoon rains roll in. More experienced hikers often head to the northern Circuit sections, which stay relatively dry in the rain shadow. The trails near Pokhara offer good alternatives, combining day hikes with visits to the Peace Pagoda and boat trips on Phewa Lake when weather allows.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
Autumn brings the most reliable conditions across Annapurna, with steady weather and excellent visibility. The Circuit trek really shines - our travelers consistently mention those crystal-clear views from Thorong La Pass and also the warm atmosphere in the tea houses along the way. Base Camp routes benefit from stable conditions, letting you focus on the incredible shifts from farmland through bamboo forests and into the alpine zones. Many guests pick the Sanctuary trek, loving how the clear skies show off the complete ring of peaks around Base Camp. The Ghorepani paths work especially well now, mixing perfect sunrise conditions at Poon Hill with pleasant temperatures for exploring mountain villages. From what our travelers tell us, two companies really stand out for Annapurna treks. Adventure Himalayan Travels and Treks has built a solid reputation, and Eco Holidays Nepal keeps getting great feedback from people who've booked with us. The guides make a big difference here - particularly Tenzi Sherpa, Bhakta and also Basu. They know the trails inside out, stay attentive throughout the trek and handle all the practical details that make these trips work smoothly. Our customers often mention how these guides share interesting details about local culture and help everyone feel comfortable, even on challenging sections. Both companies have figured out the logistics well - they choose good tea houses along the routes, plan sensible daily distances and make sure everything runs on schedule. The pricing is straightforward too, with no hidden costs popping up later. It's especially helpful that they include proper gear recommendations and actually check everyone's equipment before heading out.
