Kenya and Tanzania Tours & Trips

Best time to visit Kenya and Tanzania

• Fall / Autumn 2026

Fall touring captures East Africa as short rains start greening the landscape. Our most booked trips run 21-24 days, linking multiple countries and environments. Starting in Nairobi, you'll explore Kenya's parks, Tanzania's northern circuit and also finish with time on Zanzibar's beaches. Our travelers often mention how well these tours mix serious wildlife viewing with cultural experiences - one week you're tracking gorillas in Bwindi, the next you're snorkeling Zanzibar's coral reefs. Camping safaris become especially popular in autumn, offering great value while keeping you close to nature. Guests tell us they love drifting off to sleep hearing lions in the Serengeti and waking up to see the sun rise over Lake Victoria.

• Winter 2026 / 2027

The winter season in East Africa brings perfect conditions for both gorilla encounters and wildlife viewing. From December through February, our most requested tours connect Rwanda's forests with Tanzania's vast plains. These quality wildlife journeys begin in Kigali and take you into Bwindi's misty forests to meet mountain gorillas before heading into classic safari areas. Our travelers particularly enjoy the evening chats around the fire with Gorilla Doctors vets who tell fascinating stories about their work protecting these remarkable animals. We also run focused tours through Kenya and Tanzania's wildlife circuits, spending three to four nights in the Serengeti during wildebeest calving season. The camps sit in prime spots for both morning and evening game drives, and guests love watching newborn calves take their wobbly first steps while lions linger nearby.

Spring offers lighter crowds and better value, making it ideal for longer explorations. Our most popular routes span 15-24 days, giving proper time at each stop. The tours linking Rwanda's primate experiences with Kenya and Tanzania's parks consistently get top marks from our travelers. You'll meet gorillas in Bwindi, then move through Lake Nakuru, Masai Mara, Serengeti and also Ngorongoro Crater. Longer trips include real cultural connections - you'll cook traditional dishes with local families in Stone Town and learn about women's craft projects in Maasai villages. The safari camps are perfectly placed for wildlife viewing, and guests particularly enjoy their morning coffee while watching elephants gather at nearby water sources.
