We enjoyed the tour, overall. We considered it a taste of Scandinavia. There wasn't enough time in Oslo to experience it at all, and we were definitely rushed through other cities. But we knew this going in. The guides on the buses did n excellent job of providing information in a variety of languages. We really enjoyed the various tours on the water, from taking a cruise across a fjord, to the car ferry, to the overnight ferry on the Baltic Sea. The only drawback is that we were on a bus for many hours, many days, hardly anyone wore masks, and some people were coughing. In the end, I tested positive for COVID two nights before the trip ended, and my husband and I had to leave the tour and isolate ourselves in the hotel room. It ruined the rest of our vacation. I would urge Europamundo to be more careful about COVID and require masks on the bus.

We enjoyed the tour. The tour leader was engaging, informative and professional, the sights interesting and on the whole pretty spectacular. Only thing to improve is that the optional extra tours are not prominently shown and require cash payment in Euro’s. This was a bit inconvenient and costly as we didn’t know the cost of the options or realise how many euro’s we would need, and changing money to Euro cash when we were travelling in UK just prior to the tour was a pain.

Basically, I give our tour a real thumbs up rating. There were parts about it that left us exhausted (such as a long day on the bus with late arrival at the hotel), but overall I enjoyed the tour and rate your staff as a real plus. My wife was disappointed that the tour was done in two languages and that the Spanish-speaking guide seemed to enjoy talking more than needed. The hotels and morning breakfasts were excellent. Loved the ferry rides and change of scenery. I was amazed with the driver's ability to maneuver through tight streets.

- Winter 2025 / 2026
In winter, Scandinavia shows off a completely different character. Our most popular winter routes mix city discoveries with outdoor activities - you'll wander through Copenhagen's cozy cafes and winter markets before heading into Norway's snow-covered terrain. The real treat in Lillehammer is trying out bobsledding on the actual 1994 Olympic track, while over in Sweden you can join husky hikes through the quiet forests of Torgås. The places you'll stay work really well for winter - think traditional mountain lodges and smart city hotels where you can warm up after being out in the cold. Our guests particularly love sitting down to traditional reindeer stew and getting to know authentic Nordic winter culture. These tours usually run for 10-14 days with comfortable transport linking each stop.

- Spring 2026
Springtime touring in Scandinavia shines between March and May, when the crowds thin out and temperatures stay pleasant. Our 10-day capital routes consistently get great feedback from travelers who love mixing guided walks through Copenhagen's Old Town with relaxed afternoons exploring the blooming Tivoli Gardens. Guides Mike and Chris stand out for weaving cultural stories into each day while keeping everyone comfortable. The journey itself becomes part of the experience, as you drift through the calm Baltic archipelago on overnight ferries from Stockholm to Helsinki. Many groups enjoy countryside lunches in beautifully restored 19th-century Swedish churches, where hosts Niklas and Anna prepare seasonal dishes with local ingredients. The longer 12-day routes let you blend city exploration with nature - starting in Copenhagen's vibrant Nyhavn district and winding through to Oslo's Vigeland Sculpture Park, surrounded by spring foliage. Travelers particularly appreciate having space to discover Stockholm's medieval Gamla Stan and Helsinki's creative Design District before the summer rush begins. Each destination connects smoothly with well-chosen hotels and comfortable transport options that keep the pace relaxed throughout the journey.

- Summer 2026
Summer in Scandinavia means making the most of those long, light evenings. Our travelers love kayaking around Vrango Island's sheltered coast and discovering Copenhagen's hidden spots by bike. With daylight stretching late into the evening, you've got extra time to explore Bergen's old Bryggen district and Stockholm's island-dotted waters. The mix really works - you might start your morning with traditional fika in Alingsas, then spend your afternoon cruising through Norway's Naeroyfjord. Our guests often tell us how much they value having free time to explore the colorful waterfronts and local markets, especially around Copenhagen's Nyhavn and Oslo's harbor area.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
Autumn brings rich colors to Scandinavia and the crowds thin out, which is perfect if you prefer a slower pace. Fall routes typically cover Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm and also Helsinki, with well-timed ferry crossings that let you experience the Baltic Sea properly. Our customers really enjoy visiting Stockholm's Vasa Museum and exploring Helsinki's Design District when it's quieter. These tours stand out because they blend city experiences with nature - you'll see the Norwegian fjords without the summer crowds and walk Stockholm's Gamla Stan when the streets are calmer. You'll have plenty of time to explore local food markets and museums, and our guides know just where to find seasonal specialties and indoor spots if the weather turns cool.

What's the Best Way to Get Around Scandinavian Countries?
Getting between Denmark Norway and Sweden is actually really straightforward thanks to their excellent network of trains ferries and buses. The Norway in a Nutshell route is particularly special combining the scenic Flåmsbana Railway with stunning fjord cruises that our travelers absolutely love. If you're wanting to explore the capitals you'll find really convenient train connections linking Copenhagen Oslo and Stockholm which works perfectly for longer trips like our 13-day Copenhagen to Helsinki tour.
What Local Cultural Experiences Can You Join In?
You've got to try fika while you're in Sweden it's this wonderful coffee and pastry tradition that's best experienced in Alingsås actually known as the Capital of Fika. When you're in Copenhagen dive into hygge which you'll find in cozy cafes and bars it's this really special Danish concept about feeling content and warm. Don't miss trying smørrebrød these amazing open-faced sandwiches loaded with local ingredients you'll find them all over Denmark for lunch they're absolutely delicious.
What Are the Must-Try Local Foods?
Swedish meatballs are a total comfort food classic served with lingonberry sauce you'll find them all over Stockholm's restaurants and traditional spots. In Bergen Norway the seafood is incredible especially at the bustling fish market where restaurants serve up fresh cod salmon and mackerel straight from the sea. When you're in Copenhagen make sure to try wienerbrød these amazing Danish pastries come in all sorts of shapes and flavors they're wonderfully buttery and flaky.
Where Can You Experience Natural Landscapes?
Norway's fjords are absolutely breathtaking and they're UNESCO World Heritage Sites for good reason especially the Nærøyfjord and Aurlandsfjorden. You can experience these on scenic cruises like the one in our 6-Day Pearls of Northern Europe tour. And don't forget Sweden's archipelago right outside Stockholm thousands of islands waiting to be explored by ferry it's really peaceful out there.
How Do You Get Around Using Public Transport?
The public transport in Scandinavia just works really well it's super efficient and reliable. The train network connects all the major cities Copenhagen Oslo and Stockholm with regular services throughout the day. If you're heading to coastal towns or islands the ferries are great with schedules that change based on route and season like the Hirtshals to Kristiansand connection.
