Budget Tours & Trips to Nordic / Scandinavia Reviews
- 8-Day Summer Iceland Ring Road & Landmannalaugar Highland Small Group Tour
Overall, the tour is good. The three tour guides (one for the six days tour, the other two for the two trips respectively ) are all good, especially Beggi.
- Highlights of Scandinavia
Our guide was very informative, friendly and well organised. The bus driver was excellent. The itinerary was great and I loved the early starts so that no time is wasted.
- Scandinavia (Summer)
Rianna is an awesome TM! Her knowledge in the local culture and the surrounding environment is outstanding and I learnt so much throughout the tour. The work she puts in behind the scenes really shows, everything was well organised and I feel like this trip went so smooth. One thing that really stood out for me is her dedication to making sure everyone on the tour is happy and included in every activity that we did. I’ve been on many tours in the past, I’ve never had a group that came together like this one and I truly believe that’s all because of Rianna. She develops a connection with everyone in the group and loves to bring out the best in them. There was never a dull moment throughout the tour. whether it was fun games to fill in time, jokes, puns or teaching us about the area we were in, Rianna always knew what the group needed. I’m really impressed with Rianna and she definitely made this a trip of a lifetime, best TM I’ve ever had.
What our customers ask about Budget Tours & Trips to Nordic / Scandinavia
When is the most affordable time to visit Nordic/Scandinavia?
Plan your Nordic trip during March to May or September to November to find the best rates. These shoulder seasons offer significant savings while winter (December-February) brings premium prices due to Northern Lights tourism and summer (June-August) sees peak season rates. Tours to Stockholm and Oslo in March are typically 30% cheaper than summer prices. A TourRadar traveler noted: "I went in early February and the area was fairly quiet snow was good and there was plenty of daylight. Mid-February is busy with Danish families on half-term."
What type of accommodation can I expect on budget tours in Nordic/Scandinavia?
Budget tours balance comfort with practicality in their accommodations. In cities you'll find places like Stockholm's Scandic No 53 hotel or Oslo's centrally located Scandic Karl Johan. Remote destinations such as Lapland feature shared cottages that house 4-8 people with kitchen access and communal facilities. As one TourRadar traveler noted, "The lodge is described as remote but has good facilities at the Fjellstoge and superb food and kindness."
How can I save money on activities and attractions in Nordic/Scandinavia?
Budget tours often include city cards and hop-on-hop-off passes for Stockholm and Oslo providing free entry to key sites. Some tours cover specific attractions like Helsinki's Suomenlinna Islands boat trip which saves about 20 USD. A TourRadar traveler suggested: "Take advantage of the included walking tours and boat trips. Buy a few bottles of wine at Heathrow duty free as alcohol in Scandinavia is expensive due to high taxes."
Are entrance fees included in budget Nordic tours?
Essential sightseeing like Helsinki's Suomenlinna Fortress and Stockholm's Gamla Stan walking tours usually come included. Extra costs apply for optional visits such as Stockholm City Hall (65 USD) and the Vasa Museum. As one TourRadar traveler commented: "The basic itinerary included enough sights but adding select optional activities like the City Hall tour really enhanced the experience."
What are the best budget-friendly areas in Nordic cities?
Look for accommodations in neighborhoods like Copenhagen's Nørrebro Stockholm's Södermalm and Helsinki's Kallio. These areas offer value lodging options such as Generator hostels and affordable restaurants. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Staying in Södermalm saved us money on food and drinks compared to central Stockholm plus it had a great local vibe."
