An amazing tour of Turkey! The itinerary was great, well planned and checked off all of the places that were top of my list! Our guide, Barb, was incredible. So knowledgeable and made our tour that much more joyful! Would highly recommend this tour. LOVED the cave hotel in Cappadocia!

Well organised tour overall. The pick-ups were all early or on time (but at IST airport, you have to wait like 20-25mins for them to get the car). Communication was very good, and this tour hits the major tourist attractions. I'd say lunch was the biggest let-down. Really hit and miss - some really good and some just unacceptable (the lunch buffet in Pumakkale was swarming with flies). They also take you to 2 jewellery stores, 1 rug store, 1 pottery store, and 1 jacket store. All are really expensive, and the guides get commission if you buy, but they don't tell you that. Some transparency around this would have been good. This part of the tour can be a bit of a waste of time, and some of the stores really put the pressure on for you to buy, e.g. the rug store tried to sell us a rug for $5k, then went down to $2k when we weren't budging. Should be fine if you don't mind saying no a lot though. Regarding paying the tour guide for tickets in cash, you can also pay at the destination with card, but if it's really busy (like the palace), there may be a queue. Outside of Istanbul, there were no queues for tickets. If you need to get money out, either get out your euros (or Lira) in another country, or find a Ziraat ATM that's attached to the bank or a HSBC atm - these are the two that don't charge fees. They were about a 5 min walk away from the hotel. The free-standing ATMs you see everywhere in the touristy areas charge an extra 8-10% of whatever you're taking out, so if you take out 500 euro, the fee is 50 euro. Don't use those. We got our tour on sale, so it was $1800 AUD per person, and for the convenience of having everything organised, esp the transfers and tour guides, I'd say it was overall worth it. If you like organising and have the time to do it, I'm sure you could do it yourself for a bit cheaper, as most of the day tours can be booked on Tripadvisor/Viator, but this was much more convenient and low-stress method for us.
