It was well organized and our tour guide Mo was very patient and informative. The reason why I'm giving them 4 stars is because it was rushed.

Our Highlights of Jordan journey (Feb 21–28, 2026) with G Adventures offered a beautifully curated introduction to an extraordinary country. Excluding arrival and departure days, the tour provided six full days of immersive exploration across landscapes that felt at once ancient, cinematic, and deeply human. The itinerary itself was thoughtfully designed and smoothly executed. We appreciated our guide, Mays, for her knowledge and steady coordination throughout the journey. Our private vehicle and driver were exceptional — professional, attentive, and instrumental in making long desert stretches comfortable and safe. The highlights were unforgettable. A full day wandering through Petra was nothing short of magical — emerging from the Siq into that rose-carved grandeur is a moment that lingers long after departure. The 4x4 jeep ride across Wadi Rum, paired with generous traditional Bedouin meals under the vast desert sky, offered both exhilaration and grounding. The Aqaba Boat Trip with snorkelling or diving was an excellent change of pace. Gliding across the Red Sea and slipping into clear, tranquil waters offered rare, suspended moments of stillness — a gentle coastal counterpoint to the vast desert landscapes. Floating in the mineral-rich waters of the Dead Sea was equally memorable. That said, there are areas where clearer communication and adjustments would have meaningfully enhanced the experience. On the first evening, during our initial group meeting, we were asked to contribute 40 JOD per person for tips intended for the driver and hotel luggage handling, with clarification that this amount excluded tips for the guide. While we understand the importance of tipping and are always willing to support those who provide service, it would have been helpful for this to be communicated more transparently in advance, including how the amount was determined. Accommodation overall was adequate, though the contrast at Mena Tyche Hotel in Amman was noticeable. The lobby presents at a local four-star standard; however, the guest room fixtures felt closer to a two-star international level. Given the multiple nights spent there, this disparity stood out. Meals and optional activities were the primary area of concern. The tour included daily breakfast and one lunch, with all other meals described as “optional.” When meals are labeled optional, we expect the freedom to choose where and what to eat. Instead, we were often taken directly to specific restaurants without prior information about pricing, and initially only buffet options were presented. After we raised concerns with the guide, an à la carte option was made available. Clearer communication from the outset would have avoided the feeling of being directed into predetermined spending. There were also numerous optional add-ons requiring additional payment. Considering that the package price is already at the higher end, these extras sometimes felt less like true choices and more like opportunities for additional revenue collection. For example, in Wadi Rum, the itinerary included a two-hour 4x4 excursion with an option to extend for 70 JD per group. Instead, we were charged 20 JD per person, with five people per vehicle — totaling 100 JD. It was not clearly explained how this price difference was allocated, which left travelers confused. Greater transparency in pricing breakdowns would foster trust and clarity. We would also suggest a small pacing adjustment: extending the time at the Dead Sea, as two hours felt brief given the scenic drive there and back. On the final day’s long return drive to Amman, incorporating one or two light activities — perhaps a short coastal walk along the Dead Sea to stretch our legs — in addition to the visit and lunch at Al Safi Community would create a more balanced and engaging close to the journey. Jordan itself is a country of profound beauty and generous hospitality. Many moments on this tour were deeply moving and memorable. With greater transparency and clearer communication around costs and expectations, the overall experience would more fully reflect the remarkable quality of the destination itself.

We were promised a friendly driver who speaks English. Unfortunately, our driver’s English was so severely limited that we could not enjoy our trip as much as we had hoped. Between his language skills and his general attitude, we would not be able to recommend Mr. Adnan to anyone planning to visit Jordan.

Best time to visit Jordan
- Spring 2026
Spring in Jordan hits that sweet spot for exploring - the weather's just right for desert camping and wandering through ancient sites. Our 5-6 day trips give you proper time at Petra, and the morning sun really brings out those red and orange tones in the rock. Lots of our travelers say having two full days here works perfectly - one with a guide who knows all the history and then another day to roam around on your own, especially for that hike up to the Monastery when it's cooler. Week-long options add Jerash with its massive Roman ruins and cooking sessions in local Petra homes. For those wanting to move, we've got routes mixing Dana Biosphere Reserve trails with jeep rides through Wadi Rum, while our luxury travelers get premium desert camps complete with private decks for night sky views.

- Summer 2026
Summer needs smart planning around the heat, but guides like Mohammed and Basil have got it down to an art. The 6-day tours hit Petra early, getting you through the Siq before the real heat kicks in, then time it perfectly for afternoon floating in the Dead Sea when you're ready for that cool water. Our premium camps in Wadi Rum come with air conditioning and make great bases for dawn 4x4 trips and evenings with Bedouin meals. The 5-day focused trips mix morning activities with afternoon hotel downtime, and according to our guests, that rhythm really works. Week-long tours add Aqaba time where you can snorkel and catch those Red Sea breezes.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
Fall's when our longer Jordan trips really come into their own. The 8-day tours get consistent praise from travelers who love how we mix historical sites with real cultural connections. Time with Bedouin hosts in Wadi Rum becomes something special - sharing stories over mint tea and getting to know desert life properly. Several routes take you through Petra's less-known "back door" and into local homes for cooking sessions. The 6-day express options still fit in all the main sites at a nice pace, and our customers tell us the weather's just right for that Monastery hike in Petra and exploring the sprawling ruins at Jerash.

- Winter 2026 / 2027
Jordan's winter travel season gives you some great advantages with shorter days setting up perfect timing for Petra visits in the early hours. Our 5-day express tours have earned high marks from travelers for smart scheduling - you'll enter the Siq right when morning light creates that perfect glow on the Treasury, while exploring Jerash's ancient Roman sites during mild midday temperatures. Many of our guests choose the 8-day trips that include two nights at Petra, letting them capture the ruins in changing light conditions and discover hidden pathways at a relaxed pace. Winter nights out in Wadi Rum become something special, as our traditional Bedouin camps serve warm zarb feasts under impossibly clear starlit skies. Our guides Mohammed, Sami and also Jalal get frequent mentions for their winter expertise, timing Dead Sea floats perfectly for warmest afternoon hours and working around seasonal schedules at Madaba's churches. The tours often feature cooking sessions in local homes, which our travelers tell us provide both a warm break from winter weather and genuine connections with Jordanian families.
