This was such a good tour. Janelle was an incredible tour guide and our driver was excellent. Hotels we stsyed at were comfortable with good facilities- be prepared for 2 long days on the bus- but incase s necessity to get to the places we needed to see. Would have liked some time in Banff when the gift shops were open.
Rockies Summer Classic TourIf you want to get an overview over the Canadian rockies in winter I recommend. Be aware its a lot of time spent on the bus unless you sleep. I was lucky with my room mate and won a new friend. :) annoying on our tour was a group of late comers because of which we lost the outside of the bus time. to give an example: we only had 45min at lake Louise instead or 2 hours net. Those guests never apologised and the group lost the time. I recommend this tour to those who are ok with sitting a lot and do sightseeing through the bus windows as an overview and to experience a memorable new Year in Banff. I don't recommend if you are a more active person and need the majority of your time outdoors. this tour does not allow time for skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing day trips neither a huskey tour. you will go snow tubing 2 hours and maybe part of it also a little bit ice skating in one place; in lake Louis if lucky you have 2 hours and in Banff expect a 2 hour hike to pay for and a 1 hour trip up the gondola. or shopping. I still am glad I went. I got to tick off Bucket list items and made new friends. 😀
Rockies Winter Explorer New Years Eve TourI had a blast! Mother nature threw rain, mosquitos and an aching hip my way, but all I have are fond memories of this adventure. Marge and Louie were well organized, keeping us informed of the itinerary and (mostly) on schedule while having the flexibility to adapt to unexpected things like a highway closure or the group wanting to go for beers after a day of rafting and adventure. The food was a great balance of healthy and comfort food meals - the bison burgers were a bonus. The hikes were amazing! I like how they made adjustments depending on the group's fitness level. The option to go rafting on the last day was a great addition to the adventure. I live close enough to the mountains I could do a lot of these hikes on a weekend trip, but I would definitely book again with Fresh Adventures just for the added experience they provided.

Fall brings golden larches and quieter trails once the summer crowds head home. The 5-day autumn tours use the clear mountain air and steady weather for exploring Johnston Canyon, Maligne Canyon and also the Icefield Parkway's lookouts. Our September and October groups often see more wildlife - especially elk during rutting season around Jasper. You'll still visit all the major spots like Lake Louise and Moraine Lake before it closes for winter, but with better timing since the peak crowds are gone. You'll reach Moraine Lake right as it opens, usually from late May, watching the ice break up to show those blue waters underneath. Our groups really like combining walks through Marble Canyon with warm soaks at Radium Hot Springs in Kootenay National Park.
