What people love about touring USA solo
- Yellowstone & Rocky Mountain Explorer
5 STARS!! We had a fantastic 7 day trip to Yellowstone, Grand Tetons & Bryce. Our guide was informative and super friendly. The campsites had great views and overall, the trip was spectacular! Highly recommend Bindlestiff Tours!!
- Death Valley Day Tour from Las Vegas- Small Groups Tour
Christy our guide is excellent and knowledgeable. We learned a lot of things about Death Valley..Verywonderful experience. What a wonderful tour with an excellent guide and places to go to.We took lots of memorable pictures with us.
- Grand Canyon, Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend and Lake Powell Small Groups Overnight Tour
Overall the trip was excellent. The drive was very comfortable with appropriate stops for lunch and dinner. The trip was very well organized and we managed to see everything that was planned. I would have preferred though that our guide be with us during the Grand Canyon walk and the horseshoe bend walk for some explanation. But otherwise, I had a great experience as a solo traveller.
What our customers ask about USA Tours for Solo Travelers
How social are USA guided tours for solo travelers?
USA guided tours provide natural opportunities for connection with over 50% of participants typically traveling solo. You'll spend time with fellow travelers during daily activities like hiking through Yosemite exploring Las Vegas or sharing meals at local spots such as the Talkeetna Roadhouse in Alaska. One TourRadar traveler noted: "The group meshed well and we all just had fun together making these days unforgettable."
What's the typical group size on USA guided tours?
Tours in the USA keep groups small ranging from 10-15 people to create comfortable social settings. The Georgia History Trail tour usually runs with 8-12 people while National Parks excursions limit groups to 15 travelers. These smaller numbers make it easy to get to know others as you explore Bryce Canyon or walk across the Golden Gate Bridge together.
What type of accommodation can solo travelers expect?
Lodging ranges from standard hotels like the Sheraton Salt Lake City to unique stays such as glamping sites in Zion National Park. Most tours use 3-4 star properties near key attractions. The Georgia History Trail features historic hotels like The Slate Hotel Denver Downtown while National Parks routes mix traditional lodges with properties like the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel.
Which USA destinations are most popular among solo travelers?
Booking data shows Alaska Yellowstone National Park and the Southwest National Parks draw the most solo travelers making up 39-54% of reservations. These locations balance structured activities with personal time. National Parks create natural meeting points through shared experiences like watching wildlife in Yellowstone or hiking glaciers in Alaska.
What's the best time for solo travelers to visit USA national parks?
The best timing changes by region. Summer months work well for Alaska and most national parks while spring and fall (April-May or September-October) suit the Southwest and Southern states. Winter brings smaller crowds to Death Valley and Southwest parks. One TourRadar traveler recommended: "I did the Southwest in October - perfect weather and a great mix of solo travelers seeking similar experiences."
How much interaction is there with local communities during USA tours?
Local connections form a key part of many tours especially in Alaska and the Southwest. Programs often include stops at Native American communities and family businesses that share their traditions and daily life. A TourRadar traveler shared: "Meeting local guides in Monument Valley and learning about Navajo culture was a highlight of the trip."
