Our guide was Hugh O’Reilly and he was truly a wonderful person. He had everything running smoothly, and delivered us on time to all locations. He made the journey personal and by the end our group felt like a family much to the credit of Hugh who fostered communication and activities amongst the group. You can tell that Overland has a good reputation as all of the hotels and attractions were happy to see us. Most of the hotels were 4 star or more, only two were about 3 star level. Food recommendations were spot on. Overall I really enjoyed myself and would love to travel with Overland again. I am hoping to take the Portugal tour next. I’m leaving Ireland with great memories AND new friends!

Our tour guide, Jerry was incredibly informative and enthusiastic about the sites he showed us. As a local, he gave us unique insights into Ireland that truly reflected his love for the country—so much so that you can't help but fall in love with it too. Our driver, Tony, was extremely capable and made us feel safe throughout the journey. Even when navigating narrow roads and bridges, I never felt worried—his skill behind the wheel was clear. Despite some rainy weather and a few fellow tourists who seemed to complain about every little thing, I had an amazing and memorable experience. Jerry and Tony made our first trip to Ireland not just pleasant, but truly unforgettable.

Wow what an experience, thanks Greg and Darius. Loved the night at Trad on the Prom and the best regional pub in Ireland. Everywhere we went was brilliant. Thanks

Best time to visit Ireland Wild Atlantic Way
- Spring 2026
Spring is prime time to explore the Wild Atlantic Way - you'll find wildflowers covering the Burren's limestone and puffins making their return to the Cliffs of Moher. Our 6-8 day tours really come into their own this season, with each day bringing something different. You might be kayaking across Killarney's lakes one morning and walking through ancient monastery ruins at Glendalough the next. We keep groups small at 8-12 people, perfect for navigating those narrow coastal roads where big tour buses just can't fit. Our travelers tell us how much they love watching working sheepdogs with their handlers on family farms, then heading to local pubs where traditional music plays well into the night. These tours mix active days outdoors with real cultural experiences - like food walks through Galway's vibrant streets and also quiet moments exploring medieval castle gardens.

- Summer 2026
Summer brings long daylight hours that let you make the most of every stop along the Wild Atlantic Way. The 10-day tours give you proper time in special places like the Aran Islands, where you can cycle between ancient stone forts on quiet roads. Our small groups of 12-16 people work brilliantly in summer - while larger tours queue at popular spots, we can slip into local Kinsale restaurants or catch that gorgeous morning light at the Cliffs of Moher before the crowds show up. Our guides adjust each day based on weather and what the group wants to do - maybe switching a planned hike for sea kayaking alongside dolphins in Dingle Bay. Evenings are special too, with castle banquet feasts, tastings of craft whiskey and also proper Irish music sessions in Doolin's authentic pubs.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
The Wild Atlantic Way shines in autumn, when wildflowers still speckle the Burren's limestone and powerful waves meet the Cliffs of Moher. Our small group tours, lasting 6-10 days, blend guided walks with local culture in ways that work perfectly for the season. Mornings might find you paddling across Killarney's lakes in the crisp air before heading to Kerry, where skilled sheepdogs work with handlers on family farms. With fewer cars on autumn roads, our compact vehicles can reach hidden spots - those tucked-away Dingle beaches and quiet overlooks above Killary Harbour that larger groups miss. Many guests opt for tours combining castle exploration and hiking, with the 750m Mount Brandon climb delivering endless Atlantic views on clear autumn days. The season brings out the best in local flavors, from Galway's oyster tastings to authentic pub music sessions in Doolin that stretch into the evening. Our guides Marie, Sean, and Ray earn consistent praise for their flexibility, whether that means swapping a planned hike for dolphin watching by kayak in Dingle Bay or sliding into an artisan whiskey tasting when weather shifts.

- Winter 2026 / 2027
Winter tours along Ireland's Wild Atlantic Way give you an intimate, off-season perspective that our customers consistently value. The 7-day itineraries carve out proper time at signature spots, including the Cliffs of Moher, where winter swells display the ocean's untamed nature. Experienced guides like Carmel, Kevin and also Will know exactly how to adjust the daily program to winter conditions, weaving in their deep local expertise. You'll find a thoughtful blend of indoor and outdoor discoveries - perhaps starting with Dublin's heritage-rich lanes before settling in for an Irish coffee session on the Ring of Kerry. Several routes feature distinctive cultural touches like watching master craftsmen at Waterford Crystal and dining at medieval castle feasts. The hotels are positioned right in town centers, which makes perfect sense in winter when daylight hours are shorter, so you can easily walk to nearby pubs and dining spots in the evening. The routes through Galway, Killarney, Waterford and also Dublin balance guided portions with independent exploration time, while staying adaptable to winter weather shifts.
