7 Day Southwest USA Itinerary, incl. Zion and Grand Canyon
The Utah circuit showcases 9 destinations including Utah's Mighty 5 parks plus Monument Valley and Grand Canyon. Cover 1,600 miles in modern van, staying at scenic campsites. Activities balance hiking, cultural experiences, and optional adventures like canyoneering (approx. $120).

- Day 1
Zion National Park
Start your trip with an early morning drive from Las Vegas to Zion (about 2.5 hours). Get to the Narrows trail before 9 AM to avoid crowds and heat. One traveler shares: "Angel's Landing hike was worth getting up at 4:30 AM for – the views are incredible with hardly anyone else around." The afternoon is perfect for exploring the easier Emerald Pools trails.

- Day 2
Bryce Canyon National Park
Take the scenic drive to Bryce and begin at Sunset Point. The Queens Garden/Navajo Loop combination trail offers the best views of the unique hoodoo formations. Early morning or late afternoon light is best for photos. Wear shoes with good grip since trails can get slippery. The campground offers great amenities including hot showers and a hot tub for tired hikers.

- Days 3-4
Arches and Canyonlands National Parks
Make Moab your base for exploring these parks. Get to Delicate Arch early before the day heats up. Consider taking a sunset Hummer tour in Canyonlands. One traveler notes: "The Hummer tour was an unexpected blast. The guides took us to incredible viewpoints we never would have found ourselves." Remember to pack extra water since summer temperatures often go above 100°F.

- Day 5
Monument Valley
The drive from Moab takes about 2.5 hours through stunning desert landscapes. Take a Navajo-guided 4x4 tour for unique cultural insights. Stay overnight along the rim for incredible sunset and sunrise views. A visitor recalls: "Camping at Monument Valley was the highlight – watching the sun rise over those iconic buttes from your tent is an experience you'll never forget."

- Day 6
Antelope Canyon and Grand Canyon
Book a morning tour of Antelope Canyon well in advance. Drive 2 hours to reach the Grand Canyon South Rim. Watch the sunset from Hopi Point using the free shuttle. Many visitors recommend the helicopter tour. One traveler notes: "The perspective from above really shows the canyon's immense scale." South Kaibab Trail offers excellent views for hiking.

- Day 7
Route 66 and Return to Las Vegas
7 Day Southwest USA Itinerary, incl. Zion and Grand Canyon
The southwestern loop connects 8 major destinations, including Zion, Bryce, Arches, and Grand Canyon National Parks. Accommodation at 3-star properties like Zion Canyon Inn and Ruby's Inn, with included Navajo-guided Monument Valley tour.

- Day 1
Zion National Park
Leave Las Vegas early to avoid traffic and drive 2.5 hours to Zion. Plan to arrive by 9 AM when crowds are lighter. "The Emerald Pools trail offers a perfect introduction to Zion's dramatic landscape." You can either hike the famous Narrows (bring water shoes for the slippery river rocks) or take the more relaxed Riverside Walk. Spend the night at Zion Canyon Inn.

- Day 2
Bryce Canyon National Park
The 1.5-hour drive to Bryce takes you up to 8,000 feet elevation. Start your visit with the Rim Trail for impressive views before heading down into the amphitheater on the Navajo Loop Trail. "Hiking down into the hoodoos gives you an up-close experience with this fascinating landscape - but bring plenty of water, the elevation makes even easy hikes more challenging." Stay at Ruby's Inn right by the park entrance.

- Days 3-4
Arches and Canyonlands National Parks
Make Moab your home base for exploring these two parks. Get to Arches early to tackle the 3-mile round trip to Delicate Arch before it gets too hot. "Book the sunset Hummer tour in advance - it sells out quickly in peak season." Use your second day to explore Canyonlands' Island in the Sky district. You'll find several short walks leading to spectacular viewpoints. The Moab Valley Inn is a good place to stay.

- Day 5
Monument Valley
- Day 6
Antelope Canyon and Grand Canyon
Start your day at Antelope Canyon (the 10 AM tour has the best light) then visit Horseshoe Bend nearby. "Arrive at Horseshoe Bend before 9 AM to avoid intense midday heat and crowds." Continue to the Grand Canyon's South Rim. You can book a helicopter flight ($280-400) or walk part of the Bright Angel Trail. Stay at Red Feather Lodge.

- Day 7
Route 66 to Las Vegas
7 Days in Western USA, incl. San Francisco and Las Vegas
A western states circuit visits 8 major destinations across 4 states. Take in San Francisco's bay cruise, Yosemite's El Capitan, Sedona's Chapel of the Holy Cross, Monument Valley's jeep tour, and Antelope Canyon's unique formations.

- Day 1
San Francisco
Get to Fisherman's Wharf before 9 AM to beat the crowds. Book your bay cruise for early morning when the fog usually lifts around 10 AM for better Golden Gate Bridge photos. Spend your afternoon exploring Chinatown and grab lunch on Grant Avenue for the most authentic food options. A recent visitor shared: "The evening city views from the Bay Bridge were incredible, but bring layers - San Francisco nights get surprisingly chilly even in summer."

- Day 2
Yosemite National Park (Summer) or California Coast (Winter)
Your plans will depend on the season. Summer visitors can reach Yosemite in about 4 hours from San Francisco. Set aside 4-5 hours to explore the valley and take the short paved walk to Lower Yosemite Falls. Winter visitors should take the coastal route through Monterey and Carmel instead, spending about 2 hours in each town.

- Day 3
Las Vegas
Plan for a long drive through the desert (7-8 hours) with a shopping break at Barstow outlets. You'll reach Vegas by late afternoon. Take an evening walk down the Strip around 7 PM to see the Bellagio fountains perform every 30 minutes. First-time visitors should consider staying at central Strip hotels like Bellagio, Caesars, or Paris for easy access to attractions.

- Day 4
Hoover Dam
Drive 45 minutes to reach Hoover Dam by 9 AM before it gets too hot. The tour takes about 2 hours. Back in Vegas, plan your afternoon carefully. A previous guest suggested: "Skip the resort pools during peak afternoon heat (2-4 PM) - they're packed. Go early morning or hit the air-conditioned casinos during this time instead."

- Day 5
Sedona
- Day 6
Monument Valley & Horseshoe Bend
- Day 7
Antelope Canyon & Valley of Fire
What people love about 7-day USA tours
- 7 Day Southwest National Parks Grand Canyon Camping Tour
Brilliant tour! You see so much in such a short time period! Literally can’t believe I’ve seen and experienced everything I did, life changing! I do think the camping price is expensive for what it is but I had a great time. Do your homework on the parks before you go! I took the guide’s advice and had a great time but you only have between 2-5 hours in each park so be savvy if you have your heart set on doing something! HOWEVER, just a couple of things you should know for the camping option: - the camping grounds are HARD, I mean rubble/gravel/stones in 5/6 grounds. Only one was on grass. I asked for 2 yoga mats by day 4 because I was so uncomfortable (I’m 33) - do NOT take a hard cased bag, mine wasn’t allowed in the tent which I get so it doesn’t damage it but it was left outside the trailer overnight (just as well I had a code lock on it) and it was battered and dirty by the end from opening it on the hard ground/gravel.
- 7 day Southwest National Parks Grand Canyon Tour
We had a great time. The views were amazing. Our guide was excellent. We spent each afternoon at a different park. A can’t miss experience.
- Magnificent West - 7 Days
Well planned tour with nice hotels, comfy beds, quiet rooms. The first two days in San Francisco, Sausalito and Yosemite were the best! We saw everything and it was beautiful. The two days in Vegas were not my scene but the beds in Harrah’s hotel were a dream. Route 66 and Sedona were fun but I was sick of the bus by the time we did Monument Valley then started the return home the next day. It was great being in a group. Everyone was really friendly and the guides and driver were so kind.
