We thoroughly enjoyed our 7 day tour through the beautiful Mongolian county. Our guide and driver were installed class and provided excellent services and information throughout out trip. We stayed with local nomad families and enjoyed their lifestyle and living arrangements which was 1 of the many highlights of the trip. We especially liked the local cooking and had some great food during these overnight stays. The country side is magnificent and the long daily drives pass by with different scenery at each turn. Thourghly recommended this experience for everyone.

Overall, a good tour. I enjoyed seeing the countryside, it's a beautiful country, and it was really nice getting to know my host family. I was very glad for my translator Amarbat, who was a fantastic translator and guide, especially because the host family knew very little English. We had fun together though, as they showed me what life is like for them and taught me some Mongolian skills and recipes. I also enjoyed showing them an Aussie recipe, which was a new experience for them. Shout out to Zula and Bata for being great hosts. I was a little disappointed when I visited Amarbayasgalant monastery, because the monk there didn't seem super interested in giving us much of a tour, and basically just described one room and left. Thankfully, Amarbat came through with some interesting explanations and insights. May was a pretty good time to visit, but I'd definitely want to come in the summer if I came back. If you're booking this tour, be prepared for a very slow and relaxed time, and expect to eat lots of meat and dairy.

What our customers ask about Adventure Tours & Trips in Mongolia
What are the must-see highlights of an Adventure tour in Mongolia?
Adventure tours in Mongolia center around several key natural and cultural landmarks. The Orkhon Valley Waterfall which emerged from volcanic activity 20,000 years ago stands as a natural centerpiece. In Kharkhorin the Erdene Zuu Monastery reflects Mongolia's Buddhist heritage while the Khongoryn Els sand dunes stretch an impressive 100km across the Gobi Desert. Nature enthusiasts often visit the Tsenkher Hot Springs which bubble at +85.5°C at 1,860m elevation. The Hustai National Park lets visitors observe the rare Przewalski's wild horses in their natural habitat. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "The Orkhon Valley was absolutely stunning - the combination of waterfalls historic sites and nomadic culture made it an unforgettable experience."
How do I get around during a Mongolia Adventure tour?
Getting around Mongolia requires a blend of modern and traditional transportation. Tour operators use modified 4WD vehicles like the Mitsubishi Delica or Hyundai Straex for long-distance travel across the country's varied terrain. Local experiences often include horseback and camel riding for specific routes and cultural authenticity. One TourRadar traveler noted: "The 4WD vehicles were essential for the rough terrain while riding Bactrian camels through the Gobi provided an authentic desert experience."
