Very good tour, well-organized with professional guides. Pick-up and drop-off all worked like clockwork. Communication with the travel agency was also very good. The tour allows travellers to see the major sights of Oman in just five days, from the city to the beaches and the great outdoors. One suggestion is that the tour to Wadi Shab can be challenging for people over 55 as it involves walking on pebbles and slippery surfaces and swimming in caves etc. which is more suitable for the younger and more adventurous. The tour to the islands also involves a 45-minute choppy ride in the open sea on a speedboat. However, overall an excellent tour.

The most value for money tour of Oman- good transport, accommodations and food. Points for improvement- - Tour guide should be engaging and imparting lots of information regarding the sights, which I found lacking. There was no formal introduction even and most of the time, he was repeating some very basic information about the places unless asked further questions. He needs to have room numbers and some people's phone contacts to be better organised. - Although it was not a problem for me being young, a lot of the locations are not truly accessible for people with mobility issues eg Wadis and this should be mentioned beforehand as they are essentially cannot be explored by the elderly. - Nizwa fort should be included on the last day - longer time at the mosque, the wadis and Nizwa souk - restaurants need to be chosen to include vegetarian mains or this needs to be explained beforehand as I accidentally ate meat on the first night thinking it was the alternative vegetarian option, which it was not. The starters were the only veggie thing. Apart from this meal, the other meals were good/ ok

What's really cool is how they've kept their cities authentic especially Muscat where they don't allow super tall buildings and have preserved all these beautiful old areas. The thing that really stands out though is how genuinely welcoming the Omani people are you can experience this firsthand during Bedouin coffee ceremonies in the Wahiba Sands. They've got great tourist facilities but it never feels crowded or overly touristy.

There's so many ways to dive into Omani culture and they're all really authentic. Ever been to a traditional cattle market? The Friday morning one at Nizwa Souq is fascinating watching local traders do business the old-school way. In Muscat you can learn to cook with the ladies from Sidab women's cooperative which is great because you're helping support local female entrepreneurs too. The Bedouin camps in Wahiba Sands are amazing - you'll get to enjoy traditional music while having dates and this delicious cardamom coffee. Don't miss Sur's dhow builders they're still making boats just like they did centuries ago. And up in Misfat Al Abriyeen you can check out these incredible UNESCO-listed falaj irrigation systems that mountain communities have used forever.
What natural areas can you visit outside the cities and how do you get there?
Getting to Oman's natural wonders is pretty straightforward with organized tours and 4x4 trips. Wadi Shab's hidden waterfall cave is worth the 40-minute hike while Bimmah Sinkhole's easier to reach with its amazing limestone pools. Want to experience the desert? Wahiba Sands camps are accessed by 4x4 from Al Wasil and you can go dune-bashing at sunset then stargaze at night. If you're into wildlife head to Ras Al Jinz turtle sanctuary between June and September to watch green turtles nesting. For something really special take a 4x4 up to Jebel Akhdar's rose gardens and ancient villages at 2000m - the views are incredible.
