The overall experience was amazing. Italy is amazing and Francesco our guide was also excellent. Knowledgeable, caring, attentive, helpful. Mostly, everything was very enjoyable and ran smoothly and I know it was in large part due to him being on top of everything (like transports).

Loved this Italy trip! At the end of March I was on this 5-day tour of the Amalfi Coast, Capri, and Pompeii, and it was really good! Getting from Naples to Sorrento was easy, and seeing Capri and Pompeii was amazing: the Blue Grotto was so cool, and Pompeii was just as impressive as I expected. But my favorite day? Definitely the trip to Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello (Day 3). Seriously, the drive along the coast is beautiful. Positano is like a picture, all those colorful houses on the side of the hill. It was fun just walking around there. Amalfi was lively, and then Ravello, up in the mountains, had the most incredible views. Those gardens were something else! That whole day was just perfect, and our guide was a big reason why. He shared fascinating insights into the history, culture, and hidden gems of Positano, Amalfi, and Ravello, transforming what could have been a simple sightseeing trip into a rich and engaging learning experience. If you're thinking about seeing this part of Italy, I'd totally recommend this tour!

Our private tour of Naples, Sorrento, Almalfi, Pompeii, and Capri Island trough Soleto Travel for four people for foue nights was great. The tour guides Sonia (Naples and Amalfi/Vesuvius) and Merella (Capri), as well as the Pompeii guide were excellent. We would recommend enhanced audio ear pieces even for the small group. The accommodations were very good, although the Sorrento hotel was a long walk from the center of town anid heavy vehicle traffic. We ended up extending the stay in Sorrento a couple of nights. Highly recommended.

What our customers ask about Naples Tours & Trips
What are the best areas to stay in Naples for first-time visitors?
Naples' historic center (Centro Storico) puts you right in the middle of the city's energy and main attractions. The area around Toledo Street combines convenience with excellent access to shops and restaurants while the upscale Chiaia district offers quieter streets and sea views. The Grand Hotel Vesuvio and Hotel NH Napoli Panorama are solid choices near key sites. A TourRadar traveler noted: "The hotel NH Napoli Panorama was wonderful with the staff being exceptionally helpful and the rooms offering stunning views of the bay."
What's the best time of year to visit Naples and the Amalfi Coast?
Plan your visit between April and October when the weather is reliable and attractions run at full capacity. Spring (April-May) and fall (September-October) bring mild temperatures and smaller crowds perfect for exploring. Summer sees all activities running including boat trips to Capri and Blue Grotto tours though expect more tourists. A TourRadar traveler shared: "The weather was perfect for exploring Pompeii and taking boat rides to Capri." Winter visits from November to March are possible but some seasonal activities pause especially around the coast.
Are there good day trips from Naples?
Naples serves as an excellent base for exploring the region. The ruins of Pompeii sit just 30 minutes away by train with one TourRadar traveler calling it "an incredible archaeological journey." Capri awaits a 45-minute ferry ride from the port complete with its Blue Grotto and high-end shops. The Palazzo Salgar hotel can arrange transport to Sorrento the Amalfi Coast or Mount Vesuvius. Each spot offers distinct experiences from Roman ruins to seaside towns.
What unique food experiences should I not miss in Naples?
Start with authentic Neapolitan pizza at local institutions like Sorbillo or Da Michele in the historic center. The bustling Pignasecca market lets you sample street food classics including sfogliatella pastries and fresh mozzarella. Head to the Spanish Quarter for traditional trattorias serving pasta alla genovese and seafood dishes. A TourRadar traveler noted: "The food tours through Pignasecca market were incredible - getting to taste real Neapolitan street food and learning about the local culinary traditions was a highlight."
What are the most important historical sites in Naples?
The city center packs centuries of history into its streets. Key stops include the Naples Cathedral with its baroque interior the medieval Castel Nuovo and the extensive Catacombs of San Gennaro. A TourRadar traveler reported: "The guided tour through Naples' historic center revealed incredible sites like San Carlo Theatre Plebiscito Square and the Spanish Quarters." The archaeological museum holds treasures from Pompeii while underground Naples reveals ancient Roman structures beneath modern streets.
How many days should I spend in Naples to see the main attractions?
Set aside 3-4 days to explore Naples without rushing. This allows time to walk the historic center visit the Archaeological Museum and Royal Palace plus take a day trip to Pompeii or Mount Vesuvius. Plan half a day for underground Naples and the Bourbon Tunnel. As one TourRadar traveler put it: "We spent 4 days in Naples and it was perfect to see both the city highlights and take a day trip to Pompeii without feeling rushed."
