It's about 17km of good trails that take you through forest hills before dropping into the wine villages around Barr. Our travelers really like the route from Haut Koenigsbourg castle through the Forest de Ribeauville on the GR5 path - you get both history and nature in one go. The walking itself suits regular hikers, with daily distances between 10-17km and climbs of 360-700m, but there's plenty of time built in to explore the villages and culture.
