São Miguel Active ExperienceGreat tour to see the Island quickly. Hotel Turim Santa Maria in Funchal was excellent - large, well equipped rooms, 5mins walk from the market and near old town area for restaurants. Excursions were well paced, transported in mini-bus with informative guide/driver. Levada walk well worth doing. Agent handled everything efficiently and responded quickly to messages. A very enjoyable and memorable experience.
Best of Madeira in 5 Days: The Eternal Pearl of the AtlanticI had an absolutely wonderful week enjoying Maderia's nature and culture. Joao was an incredible guide - so knowledgeable, accommodating, kind and patient the entire week. All the walks were beautiful and there was a nice balance of physical activity and down time. I felt very comfortable as a female solo traveler and really enjoyed the time we spent in nature. Two things to note - the airport transfers are included; however, I waited over an hour when I arrived only to realize that I had to wait for other group members to land. It would have been appreciated if this was communicated to me beforehand. Explore responded immediately via WhatsApp but failed to mention that I would need to wait for as long as I did. Secondly, Hotel do Carmo (the last hotel we stayed in) is undergoing extensive construction which iwas incredibly loud (throughout the entire day). Overall, I would highly recommend, especially if you can get Joao as your guide!
