The 5 day tour that I enjoyed certainly exceeded my expectations. I had hoped to join a group tour, and was apprehensive when I discovered that I was own with a driver, but Kasun Nilanga was everything a driver/guide should be and made my tour a wonderful experience. The highlights were certainly Sigiriya, the Dambulla caves and the Temple of the Tooth in Kandy. I would have chosen to miss the village experience, a pressured tourist trap, and preferred to visit another ancient site. The train journey to Ella was an experience not to be missed and an opportunity to see the glorious hill country. As I had already been on safari in a national park, I chose to miss Yala on the last day, which Kasun agreed to, getting me to the airport in plenty of time for my flight. I cannot heap enough praise on Kasun, who looked after me ( a 79 year old) superbly. I feel strongly that the contrast between my top grade accommodation and his shared digs was embarrassing and would prefer my fees to have been more fairly distributed. I had not expected such high grade accommodation, nor my driver to stay in such basic digs. Overall, a great trip. Thank you.
