I had an amazing 5-day tour in Oman with GidOman tours, and I truly enjoyed every part of the experience. The itinerary was very well planned and allowed us to see a great variety of landscapes, culture, and history, from beautiful deserts and mountains to charming towns and breathtaking coastlines. Our guide, Abdullah Alhabsi, was outstanding: extremely professional, knowledgeable, and always kind and attentive. He explained the culture, traditions, and history of Oman in a very interesting and clear way, and he made sure we always felt comfortable and well taken care of! Overall, everything exceeded my expectations! Oman is a stunning country and this tour was the perfect way to discover it. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Oman!

I couldn't ask for a better experience! It was perfect from start to finish! We didn't even know it was going to be private! That was a better deal than expected! Amer was our guide and we learned so much about the omani way of life, the culture, the religion... we could not of asked for a better guide/driver. He was really patiente, drove really carefully, took really good care of us! With this tour we had the chance to experience desert, souks, deserted beach and even seeing a big green turtle covering her eggs!! We had a nice car, a Land Rover! The hotels with the tours were also really good. We went during Ramadan. There were more positives than negatives. No traffic, nowhere!! Great for taking pictures, not a lot of tourists in the pictures! We started the tour with a guide and finished with a friend. Amir was so nice! We really got to know alot about the muslim religion, the way of life in Oman, what to do and not do, it was so eye opening! I would recomend this tour for sure!

The thing that really stands out though is how genuinely welcoming the Omani people are you can experience this firsthand during Bedouin coffee ceremonies in the Wahiba Sands. They've got great tourist facilities but it never feels crowded or overly touristy.

There's so many ways to dive into Omani culture and they're all really authentic. Ever been to a traditional cattle market? The Friday morning one at Nizwa Souq is fascinating watching local traders do business the old-school way. In Muscat you can learn to cook with the ladies from Sidab women's cooperative which is great because you're helping support local female entrepreneurs too. What natural areas can you visit outside the cities and how do you get there?
Getting to Oman's natural wonders is pretty straightforward with organized tours and 4x4 trips. Wadi Shab's hidden waterfall cave is worth the 40-minute hike while Bimmah Sinkhole's easier to reach with its amazing limestone pools. Want to experience the desert? Wahiba Sands camps are accessed by 4x4 from Al Wasil and you can go dune-bashing at sunset then stargaze at night. If you're into wildlife head to Ras Al Jinz turtle sanctuary between June and September to watch green turtles nesting. For something really special take a 4x4 up to Jebel Akhdar's rose gardens and ancient villages at 2000m - the views are incredible.
