- Day 1
Melbourne to Warrnambool via Great Ocean Road
Meet at the Immigration Museum in Melbourne at 7:20 AM for a 7:35 AM departure. The scenic drive takes you through Anglesea and Apollo Bay where you'll stop for lunch. If you get carsick bring some motion sickness tablets since the road has lots of curves. Your guided rainforest walk in Great Otway National Park is perfect for wildlife spotting. A recent visitor noted: "The guide was perfect at finding the right spots to see koalas and kangaroos in their natural habitat!" You'll spend time at the famous Twelve Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge before spending the night in Warrnambool. The total drive is 375km.

Warrnambool to Halls Gap
After breakfast you'll explore Tower Hill Conservation Wildlife Reserve set in an extinct volcano crater. Wear good walking shoes for the afternoon's 4.5km Pinnacle lookout hike in the Grampians. The hike is a bit challenging but the views from the top are incredible. According to a recent guest: "Halls Gap is a lovely and very friendly little town. The BBQ dinner on the second evening was a nice touch to the trip." Watch for kangaroos and emus near your accommodation around sunset when they often come out.

Grampians to Melbourne

- Day 1
Melbourne to Warrnambool via Great Ocean Road
Leave Melbourne early for your 375km journey on the Great Ocean Road. Your first stop will be Anglesea where wild koalas often hang out in the eucalyptus trees. Pack binoculars if you have them. After about 2.5 hours of driving stop for lunch in Apollo Bay. A recent visitor shared: "The variety of breathtaking views of the coastline makes this a very memorable trip." In the afternoon take a guided walk through Great Otway National Park. The paths can get slippery after rain so wear good shoes. Visit the Twelve Apostles around 3pm when it's less crowded and make sure to stop at Loch Ard Gorge. You'll spend the night in Warrnambool.

- Day 2
Warrnambool to Halls Gap
Start your day exploring Tower Hill Conservation Reserve, set inside an old volcano crater. It's a great spot for seeing native wildlife. From here you'll drive 190km to the Grampians National Park. Take the 4.5km hike to the Pinnacle Lookout in the afternoon. One visitor noted: "The climb up the Pinnacles at Hall's Gap was tough but manageable, even for a 75-year-old." Take plenty of water and sun protection since most of the trail is exposed. Stay in Halls Gap for the night and enjoy a classic Australian BBQ dinner. Look out for kangaroos around your accommodation at sunset.

Grampians to Adelaide
You'll need an early start for this 520km journey. Begin with a morning hike to Mackenzie Falls. The 2km path is steep but well-maintained. Stop at The Balconies and Boroka Lookout for some great views before heading west. Your drive to Adelaide will take you through Dimboola with its Pink Lake and across the South Australian border at Bordertown. You should reach Adelaide around 7:30pm.
