We had an amazing time on our sailing trip from Dubrovnik to Split! Our docked stops were all beautiful and the swim spots along the way offered crystal-clear turquoise waters in secluded bays which were amazing. Our Skipper, Ben, was skilled and attentive, keeping us informed on our itinerary while ensuring we were all enjoying our time. He was kind, fun, and reliable and we are grateful to have been on his tour! Oana was our host and completely exceeded our expectations when it came to our culinary experience. We expected simple food and instead were served gourmet, artfully prepared dishes which we would not have expected to be possible on a sailboat. I couldn’t help but take a picture of every meal because it all looked so beautiful, and we always cleaned our plates. She was also quite helpful in making recommendations for food and activities on our stops and we enjoyed getting to know her. We did daily yoga led by Alex which added balance with movement to our relaxing trip. Such beautiful settings for yoga flows! Overall, it was a unique and fun way to tour some of the most beautiful areas in Croatia and we would highly recommend it!

As a first-timer on a small sailboat, this was a truly authentic and memorable experience. We visited remote locations far off the usual tourist trail—places I never would have discovered on my own. The staff and tour leader went above and beyond, consistently finding the best swimming spots and ensuring everyone was happy throughout the trip. I was also fortunate to share the journey with a wonderful group of travelers. Although we couldn’t visit the island of Vis due to a storm forecast, which was beyond anyone’s control, the overall experience exceeded my expectations. The tour offered excellent value for money, especially as a solo traveler.

Best time to visit Adriatic
- Winter 2025 / 2026
Winter along Croatia's Adriatic brings a different pace - it's when we focus on cultural experiences and inland spots. Split's UNESCO sites like Diocletian's Palace feel more intimate without the summer rush. Our routes mix Zagreb's museums and galleries with historic coastal towns, while some head to Sarajevo and Montenegro's Bay of Kotor where clear winter skies open up incredible views. Local guides know just where to take you for authentic Dalmatian food and regional wines in warm, cozy cellars that feel miles away from the winter chill.

- Spring 2026
By spring, conditions are just right for cycling and sailing the coast. Cyclists cover about 35-45km each day, winding through Korcula's medieval lanes and past Hvar's hilltop vineyards. The April and May sailing conditions really deliver - steady winds and calm seas make island hopping a joy. Over at Plitvice Lakes, walking tours catch the waterfalls at full power from the winter melt. We always work in cultural stops too, like visits to Trogir's UNESCO old town and local wineries just opening their doors for the season.

- Summer 2026
Summer tours naturally lean into swimming, sailing and culture. The island-hopping routes take you to hidden bays around the Pakleni Islands and sea caves near Sipan. Our travelers tell us they love starting with early walks through old towns before it heats up, then cooling off at spots like Zlatni Rat beach later on. Sailing trips mix busier stops like Hvar Town with quiet coves perfect for paddleboarding and snorkeling. As evening comes, we often visit places like Dubrovnik's walls when the heat drops and the light turns golden for photos.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
Autumn brings that sweet spot for active coastal trips. The September and October weather hits just right for our cycling groups - warm enough to swim but perfect for pedaling through Brac's olive groves and Korcula's vineyards. Walking tours can really take their time in places like Mljet National Park's pine forests and lakes without summer crowds. It's also when we catch local olive oil tastings and wine harvests in full swing. Our customers say they love how the mellower temps and quieter towns let them get closer to local life and traditions. Based on their guide Luca, Outdoor Croatia really knows how to keep families happy with activities that work for everyone. Kids and parents tell us they love getting out on the water for stand-up paddle boarding and working up an appetite with some cliff jumping - though there's no pressure if you prefer to watch. The day wraps up nicely with a proper Croatian dinner at a local farm where everything's fresh from the garden. If you're after a cycling holiday with some extra comfort, Laganini has built quite a reputation. They've got the logistics sorted with quality bikes and carefully chosen hotels, plus they make sure you're well fed with some really good local food along the way. Our travelers consistently give Intrepid Travel solid feedback for their Croatian tours. Their local guides actually live in the areas you're visiting, which makes a real difference - they know exactly where to take you and can share genuine local knowledge rather than just tourist facts. Katerina Lines runs good cruises with excellent food and well-planned stops, though some of our customers mention they'd prefer adult-only sailing options. Their crew is professional and their excursions hit the right spots, but if you're after a quieter atmosphere you might want to check when families are less likely to book.
