Halong Bay Cruise
Take a morning drive to Halong Bay (3.5 hours). Board your traditional junk boat for an overnight stay. Travel to Mai Chau Valley through Hoa Binh City. Consider taking motion sickness pills as the roads can be rough. Some interior roads are still under construction in 2023. Take afternoon walks through villages with beautiful valley views. Stay at Bakhan Village Resort and watch traditional dance shows in the evening.

Mai Chau to Ho Chi Minh City
Start with a morning trek along East Mountain. Drive back to Hanoi (3.5 hours) for your flight south. Book after lunch to skip morning traffic. Once in Ho Chi Minh City, you'll feel the warmer weather right away. Bring light clothes and drink plenty of water.

Cu Chi Tunnels
Take a trip to the Cu Chi tunnel network (75km, 1.5 hours each way). It's optional but worth it. "The excursions were SO much fun, and the planning behind the itinerary was so well organized." Wear clothes you can move in if you want to explore the tunnels. Later, tour the city's Notre Dame Cathedral and Central Post Office.

Mekong Delta
Leave at 8 AM for My Tho in the Mekong Delta (75km south). Visit Vinh Trang Pagoda and take boat rides to islands known for local crafts. You'll be back in Ho Chi Minh City by late afternoon.
