Journeys: Best of Borneo National GeographicExcellent tour if you like animals , good food and well organised activities. Mosquitoes everywhere and be prepared to live a bit in wooden houses/cottages. 3 river cruises and 3 night walks (in the mud- you can skip). Bring more tipping money than Gadventures booklet says. Food was great, too much fried foods sometimes. Turtle island was great. A real adventure!
Borneo - East Sabah AdventureGuides were good, especially in Sabah. Wildlife at a greater distance than expected, except in the Sepilok Sanctuary. Kuching hotel basic but clean. Kota Kinabalu accommodation totally unacceptable- I would not recommend this trip to anyone while this is the KK accommodation. Tabin needs to improve the quality of it's food as it does not match the quality of the other services at the resort.

Autumn brings some nice conditions for exploring Borneo's different environments. The Kinabatangan River tours work really well because lower water levels mean more animals gather near the riverbanks - it's pretty normal for our travelers to spot several orangutan families during just one river cruise. Longer tours include both Sepilok and Semenggoh sanctuaries, giving you two different ways to learn about orangutan conservation. Our trekking tours in autumn combine walks in Kinabalu Park with visits to local villages and tea plantations, which active travelers really enjoy. Photographers particularly like this time of year; the morning light along the river is perfect for getting good shots of proboscis monkeys, hornbills and also other wildlife.
