Budget Tours & Trips to Brazil Reviews
- Standard Argentina, Rio And Iguazu Falls
Everything was perfectly organised and communication from the Team was excellent. All places worth going as they are magical.
- Manaus Amazon Jungle Adventure 5D/4N
Best value for my money I've ever received. Amazing guides, flawless English, great customer service, so many stories/memories made. Would definitely recommend for anyone headed to the Amazon!!
- Pantanal Adventure 4D/3N
The tour was good, the only thing that I would like to suggest is about mosquito, they(workers of Pousada Santa Clara) should put mosquito screen to prevent entering of mosquitos. Because of mosquitos, we could not enjoy a meal(the taste was great!). There were so many mosquitos but other things were fantastic!
What our customers ask about Budget Tours & Trips to Brazil
What type of accommodation can I expect on budget tours in Brazil?
Budget travelers will find a range of places to stay from basic 3-star hotels to simple jungle lodges. In Rio de Janeiro the options include backpacker-friendly hostels in beach areas like Copacabana and Ipanema. Those heading to the Amazon often stay in rustic lodges near Manaus. Some tours let you stay with local families or camp outdoors. A recent TourRadar guest noted: "The accommodation was very nice and comfortable. Obviously there are lots of insects everywhere including the huts which is expected."
When is the most affordable time to visit Brazil?
Plan your trip during March-May or September-November to find better deals and fewer crowds. These shoulder seasons help avoid the premium rates of summer carnival (December-February) and winter break (July-August). Hotels in Rio de Janeiro often cut prices by 30-40% during April-May. The Amazon stays relatively steady in price but sees fewer visitors in shoulder season making for a more relaxed experience.
What's included in entrance fees on budget Brazil tours?
Standard packages generally cover major sites like Christ the Redeemer (25 USD entry) and Tijuca National Park. Extra activities such as the Sugarloaf Mountain cable car ride (40 USD) usually cost more. A TourRadar visitor noted: "Taking an optional boat trip in Iguazu Falls (you may purchase this additional activity upon arrival) is another way to enjoy the day."
What's included in meal plans for budget tours in Brazil?
Your tour typically covers hotel breakfast plus select meals during excursions. Amazon tours tend to include all meals while city tours in places like Rio or Salvador provide breakfast only. A recent guest reported: "The included breakfast at Gamboa Rio Hotel was plentiful and during our Amazon stay all meals were fresh and authentic Brazilian cuisine. We only needed to budget extra for lunch and dinner in the cities."
How much additional money should I budget for meals not included?
Set aside 25-40 USD daily for meals outside your tour package. City restaurants in Rio offer set lunch menus called pratos feitos for 10-15 USD. Dinner runs 15-25 USD. Smaller destinations like Paraty or Manaus tend to cost less. One traveler shared: "We found great value at local restaurants in Copacabana averaging 30 USD per day for two meals including drinks."
What's the best way to save money on activities during free days?
Free activities in Rio include lounging on Copacabana and Ipanema beaches walking the vibrant Selaron Steps or exploring the bohemian Santa Teresa district. In Salvador wander through the historic Pelourinho area at no cost. A traveler suggested: "We saved money by exploring Rio's beaches and free attractions like the Metropolitan Cathedral then splurging only on must-do activities like Sugarloaf Mountain."
How much should I budget for local transportation during free time?
Getting around Brazilian cities costs about 10-15 USD per day. Rio's metro charges roughly 1 USD per ride with buses costing even less. Rideshare services and taxis work well for quick trips. According to one visitor: "Using Rio's efficient metro system saved us lots of money costing only about 5 USD per day for multiple rides between Copacabana and the city center."
