Our CEO, Huseyin, is knowledgeable, attentive, and caring. His knowledge of history, Turkey, and the world is top-notch. He’s also well-read—when I mentioned Orhan Pamuk’s novel My Name Is Red, he was familiar with it and even recommended more Turkish literature. Overall, it’s a fantastic tour with the perfect blend of history and nature.

I paid $250 deposit for a tour in March. I made it 6 months before the tour was supposed to start and cancelled it less than 30 days later. I got NOTHING back, not even 50%. That is their policy. At the time, I would have made the reservation anyway because I was definite I was going (aren't we all). When I cancelled the trip, they assured me I can use it for a deposit on another trip and they will "bank it for me". I would not book again with them anyway as a result of this policy. They had a better chance of me doing so if I would have gotten at least some of my refund back like other travel companies do.

You spend about 2 days on each island (Santa Cruz, Floreana and Isabela). You will see sea turtles, giant turtouses, pinguins, iguanas, flamingos and many other animals. Galapagos is beautiful so you are likely to be happy with your experience. Accommodation and transportation The campsites are very basic. We didn’t have hot water for the most part. The tents are old. We didn’t have sleeping bags, just blankets. So bring your own sleeping bag if you are sensitive to cold weather, because all the campsites are located in highlands (cold&windy). G Adventures uses trucks with wooden benches for transportations. There are no doors, seatbelts. Drivers go 60 - 80 km per hour. So if an accident happens (there are no real hospitals on the islands, just clinics), you are going to get gravely injuries. There was an accident in 2014 on the way to the volcano hike (day 5) when this happened. Other tours operators don’t use open trucks to transport people after that. All the accommodations are very basic and if you book yourself you will not spend more then $40/night. They use Avianca to fly to the Galapagos. It is a very unreliable airline (it is the cheapest). They book the flight that departs at 3am and 6am (on the way back). These flights have a stop over (take much longer). We were delayed both ways for the total of over 10 hours. So full day of our vacation was wasted. Be safe and make sure they book Latam or another airline for you. Or book yourself. Do not fly Avianca. GAdventure They treat their employees very badly. We had only 1 guide. He was with us 16 hours a day every day. He had to do everything from carrying bags, checking tents, holding flashlight, navigating around the islands, working with service providers, etc. Poor overworked people. He had to go to the bars with some of our groups members till 3am (because our safety is his work) and then get up at 5am to deal with whoever got up early to watch the sunrise. They are paid about 1000 dollars a month (minimum cost of meal in Galapagos is 6 US dollars, which lives them with almost nothing for their family). Gadventures says that service is their everything, but they make their employees work long (too long) hours with minimal pay. Overworked people like that should provide good service?! I don’t think so. Calling them CEOs is a joke. Because you are on vacation, you may not notice that, but pay close attention to what you are contributing to. 16 people paid about 2000 dollars for 7 day trip (~32K). They guide gets probably about $250. That’s just not right. GAdventures should pay to their people more and treat them better. I don’t want to have someone slave 16 hours a day so that I can have fun.

Our tour guide, Hana, was exceptionally knowledgeable in local culture, places to eat, activities and optional activities, local transportation, etc. Her natural caring for people has shown throughout the trip. She always reassured each member of the group and that they are enjoying the time and don’t feel left out. The tour was very well planned and I feel I have learned a lot more about the culture and people of this country. I would strongly suggest anyone to do this tour.
