This tour of Georgia was exciting, hugely informative, and superbly organised. This was my first visit to the country but it won't be my last. I have nothing but praise for my guide, Paata, who not only fed me huge amounts of information but did so with charm and enthusiasm. And humour: we laughed our way through every day. I highly recommend both the tour and the guide.

The tour is very well balanced. The route every day is not exhausting, plenty of time to visit places of interest without a rush and enough time to relax in the evening. Hotels were very good, three had swimming pools which was a great opportunity to unwind after a day of travel and sightseeing. Special thanks to our excellent guide Paata who was knowledgeable, helpful and caring. We enjoyed every minute of our trip and learned a lot about Georgia.

Both Glad Travel Georgia and Leri were very responsive and flexible to our needs and I would highly recommend that you do this trip! We have to thank Glad Travel and Leri not only for an incredible trip but for all the support and care particularly with my 72 year old mother being so unwell on arrival at the start of the trip and with us both being away from our home countries. Both made us feel we were in good hands and very welcome as guests here in Georgia. Our memories and experiences will never be forgotten but all for the right reasons and because Leri was so kind, fun and generous to share his passion of this beautiful country. This year we are even more thankful for health and to have made connections with such friendly and kind hosts. We wish you and your family a Merry Christmas, peace, good health and happiness too. What are you waiting for? You'll not regret booking this trip!

Best tour companies for Georgia tours
Looking at Georgia tours, TourRadar's "Around Georgia" gets solid marks from our travelers, especially for including that unique toastmaster evening where guests learn about traditional Georgian wine culture and dining customs. The 5-day format packs in quite a lot, though several travelers mentioned they felt a bit rushed between sites and would have preferred an extra day or two to really settle into each stop. Intrepid's "Georgia Adventure" tour has sparked mixed reactions - while their itineraries cover good ground through both cities and rural areas, quite a few travelers felt the price point didn't match up with what was delivered. The local guides were hit or miss; some absolutely brilliant and others seemed less prepared or engaged with the group. For something different, Explore!'s cycling tour through Georgia consistently earns high marks. Their guide Nika gets special mentions in reviews for bringing Georgian history, culture and also food traditions to life while managing the logistics smoothly. The accommodations were well-chosen too - clean, comfortable and right where you want to be for exploring each area. Travelers particularly appreciated how the cycling routes balanced interesting terrain with accessibility for most fitness levels. The tour companies each have their strengths - TourRadar for comprehensive coverage, Intrepid for diverse locations and Explore! for active travel with strong local expertise. Just keep in mind that the shorter itineraries can feel rushed, so consider opting for longer versions if you want a more relaxed pace.
Best places to start your Georgia tour
Most Georgia tours kick off from Tbilisi - about 61 of our routes start right in the capital. While you can also begin from Yerevan with 5 tours, Baku with 3 tours and Kutaisi with 2 tours, Tbilisi just makes sense with its central spot and good transport links. Looking at our booking patterns, you'll want to lock in your dates around 63 days ahead, especially for those intimate experiences like family dinners and mountain trips that tend to fill up quick. Most people spend about a week exploring Georgia, though keen hikers often stay longer to really dig into those Caucasus trails and UNESCO sites. Tbilisi works so well as a base - you've got old town charm mixing with modern city life, plus it's easy to get out to the wine regions and mountain villages that our cultural explorers and nature fans love.

- Winter 2025 / 2026
Winter tours through Georgia blend great value with seasonal charm across multiple routes. The most popular 5-day winter journey begins in Tbilisi, where guests discover local culture and winter traditions, and the highlight tends to be spending evenings with Georgian toastmasters sharing wine customs over traditional winter feasts. Our mountain excursions into Kazbegi remain steady through winter months, as travelers take in the snow-blanketed vistas of Mount Kazbeg and settle into local homes for hands-on khinkali dumpling workshops. Another favorite route weaves from Tbilisi into Georgia's wine country, where the cooler months mean intimate cellar tastings with families and learning to bake Georgian bread away from the tourist crowds. While snow affects some highland paths, our local guides know exactly which winter routes work best. Our travelers often mention how winter's quiet atmosphere and seasonal celebrations bring out Georgia's authentic character, whether they're wandering through Uplistsikhe's rock-hewn city or joining festive family meals high up in mountain communities.

- Spring 2026
Spring tours in Georgia really shine when the mountain flowers start blooming. Our most popular route takes you from Tbilisi into the Caucasus Mountains, where you'll trek up to Gergeti Trinity Church and explore traditional villages. The farmers' markets come alive this time of year - our travelers love shopping with local chefs before cooking traditional dishes in their homes. Another excellent option focuses on food and wine experiences in Kakheti, where you'll learn to make churchkhela sweets and help bake Georgian bread in family kitchens. Some tours head into Lagodekhi National Park for hiking through spring forests full of birdsong, while others explore the ancient cave city of Uplistsikhe when the weather's perfect for walking. Our customers particularly enjoy how the spring tours mix outdoor activities with cultural experiences like wine tastings and cooking classes.

- Summer 2026
The weather's just right in summer for getting up into Georgia's mountains. Most of our travelers pick tours heading to Svaneti - it's a place where medieval towers rise against snowy peaks, and the trails take you right up to glaciers and flower-filled meadows. People really love how they can do some solid hiking and then drop by places like Ushguli, this amazing UNESCO village that shows you how mountain life used to be. There's also this great route that combines walks around Mount Kazbegi with visits to families who'll teach you to make proper khinkali dumplings. If you're into wine, we've got tours through the wine regions where you'll spend evenings tasting wines made in clay qvevri pots and joining these incredible family feasts. For people who want to stay active, we run tours that include boat rides through Martvili Canyon and walks in the Prometheus caves - the summer weather makes these spots particularly nice to explore.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
The mountains put on quite a show in fall when all the colors change. Our travelers can't say enough good things about hiking in Svaneti with golden forests all around and temperatures that make walking a pleasure. Down in Kakheti, it's all about the rtveli - that's the grape harvest - where you can get hands-on with traditional wine making. We've got several routes that take you through Tbilisi's old streets, out to Mtskheta's UNESCO monuments and up into the Caucasus Mountains where autumn brings these incredibly clear views. What makes these fall tours special is how you can join cooking sessions in local homes and visit small villages to try freshly made churchkhela and wine straight from the press. The path up to Gergeti Trinity Church sees fewer people this time of year and honestly, seeing Mt Kazbeg with all those autumn colors is something else.
