Reviews of Small Group tours to Georgia
- 7 Day Visit Georgia
Everything has gone in the best way: good hotels, comfortable car, good driver Mr. Robert for transfer from airport, excellent guides: Ms Giuli for Tbilisi and especially Mr Temor, for the rest of the tour, who was very capable in explaining us many things about the country, was always helpful and has given us excellent restaurant recommendations. The itinerary is well organized and is useful to give an idea of the country. There was no mishap or unexpected. Keep in mind that if you want you can ask to replace the hotels proposed in the program.
- 3-Day Tusheti Tour: Explore The Unspoiled Wilderness
The tour was way above my expectations. And really can recommend it. Koba wat an great guide and we felt very save with our driver Archill in Tusheti. We visites many places and had also time enough to relax. The Friendly Georgia is also helpfull and communicate very well. Thanks again.
- 8-Day Trekking Group Tour in Svaneti
Totally satisfied with the trip and the guide Tato, who has taught us a lot about the history and culture of Georgia. He has served as the toast master the Georgia way, and his speech before each drink is very profound and soul touching. The only suggestion for improvement is to modify the last day’s information to remove the visit to glacier Chalaargi on the way back to Tbilisi. It’s in the program but we are told if we go there, we’ll arrive at Tbilis at 10 pm.
What our customers ask about Georgia Small Group Tours
What is the ideal length for a small group tour in Georgia?
Most successful small group tours in Georgia run between 7-10 days. This timeframe gives travelers enough time to explore key destinations without feeling rushed. The Georgia Highlights tour takes 10 days through Tbilisi Kazbegi and Svaneti while the Georgia Real Food Adventure runs a compact 8 days. A TourRadar traveler noted: "Eight days was perfect to really get to know both the country and our small group."
What type of accommodation can I expect on small group tours in Georgia?
Accommodations range from modern city hotels to traditional mountain guesthouses. In Tbilisi travelers often stay at places like Hotel Heritage & Suites while remote areas like Svaneti offer stays at family-run properties such as Mestia Inn with views of medieval towers. The remote Tusheti region features traditional guesthouses in villages like Omalo and Dartlo where modern amenities meet local architecture.
What kind of dining experiences are available on small group tours in Georgia?
Small groups enjoy access to intimate dining venues that larger tours cannot visit. Travelers can join a traditional supra feast in a Tbilisi family home taste wines at smaller producers like Chateau Mukhrani or eat at family-run restaurants in Mestia. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "Our small group size meant we could dine at authentic family restaurants and even join cooking classes to learn traditional Georgian dishes like khachapuri and khinkali."
How much more expensive are small group tours compared to larger tours in Georgia?
Small group experiences cost 20-30% above standard tour prices with daily rates from $172-$306 based on itinerary and comfort level. While regular group tours average $142 per day premium small group tours staying at boutique hotels like Piazza Four Colours in Batumi or including private wine tastings reach $306 daily. TourRadar travelers often note that the personalized experience justifies the higher cost with one sharing "the personalized attention and unique experiences justified the higher price point."
What regions in Georgia are best suited for small group travel?
The mountainous regions of Svaneti Tusheti and the wine country of Kakheti work especially well for small groups. These areas have fewer tourists but offer rich cultural experiences. Small groups can explore UNESCO villages like Ushguli or visit family wineries in Sighnaghi. A TourRadar traveler noted: "Our small group size allowed us to stay in remote mountain villages and really experience local life in Svaneti."
How does transportation work on small group tours in Georgia?
Tours use minivans or 4x4 vehicles equipped for both city streets and mountain paths. In remote areas like Tusheti specialized vehicles such as Mitsubishi Delica handle the challenging terrain. According to TourRadar travelers "Levan was an excellent guide and driver making us feel safe even on the most adventurous mountain roads while providing detailed information about the places we visited."
What makes small group tours in Georgia more special than larger group tours?
Small groups can adapt their schedule and access experiences unavailable to larger tours. Travelers can join wine-making at family vineyards in Kakheti take cooking classes in Tbilisi homes and dine at small local restaurants in Sighnaghi's old town. Boutique accommodations like Hotel New Port in Kutaisi welcome small groups. A TourRadar traveler shared: "The small group size meant we could stop at local markets meet families and have authentic experiences that would be impossible with a big bus tour. Our guide could also give us more personal attention and detailed explanations about Georgian history and culture."
