Our river cruise was better than we imagined. The entire staff was friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and the wine and beer a pleasant surprise. The valley was beautiful and going through the locks was a special bonus. The only negative thing I have is the location of our cabin was near the engines and noisy when they would start up in the morning. I highly recommend This river cruise. I hope to go back one day and do it again. Thank you for the great memories.
DOURO EXPRESS, MS DOURO CRUISER: PORTO - PORTO (6 days)Delightful trip on the Douro. Great to have a happy crew who assisted queries efficiently and with a smile. Food was great and we met some lovely fellow travellers. Entertainment on the last evening was hilarious. A Fado group, dancing initiated by the Hotel Manager, beautiful music by the resident pianist and a surprise karaoke by one of our fellow passengers. Songs we all knew meant lots of singing, smiles and memories to take away. I would sail on the Spirit of Chartwell again in a heartbeat.
Douro Luxury Cruise - Spirit of Chartwell (4 Days)The staff onboard were amazing, and they went out of there way to make us feel welcome! I can not speak highly enough about them! However, the excursions were a bit of a mystery to us as we had been given very little information regarding them. They had several large groups onboard at the same time and the excursions seemed to be just for them🤷♀️
