Self-Guided Tours & Trips in Camino De Santiago
Picture walking the Camino de Santiago at your own pace, no group schedule dictating your days. You could follow the full Camino Francés from Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port (about 800 km), or shorter sections like the last 100 km from Sarria. Stop in villages, and meet other pilgrims. It's meditative, challenging, and genuinely transformative.

What people love about Self-Guided Tours in Camino De Santiago
- "Camino de Santiago" (Way of St James): French Way from Sarria -100 km
Great tour. Good transfers and accommodations. Suggest that breakfast be served earlier at ALL hotels and no later than 7 AM since we need to START walking no later than 7:30 AM to cover the long distances. Taxis also need to show up on time. Also do some research and let clients know where public laundrys are located near hotels. These suggestions would make your tour even better.

When is the best time of year to walk the Camino de Santiago self-guided?
The sweet spot for walking the Camino falls between April and October with July and August drawing the largest crowds. Those seeking quieter trails and comfortable temperatures should consider spring (April-June) or fall (September-October). The French Way from Leon to Santiago gets particularly busy while the Portuguese Camino from Tui offers more solitude throughout the year. For those interested in the Le Puy route the window between May and September provides optimal walking conditions. Tour operators report their highest availability from June through September.

Accommodations along the Camino range from 2-3 star hotels to family-run guesthouses and countryside B&Bs all with private bathrooms. In Santiago de Compostela travelers can experience the grandeur of the Parador Hostal dos Reis Católicos while smaller towns like Caldas de Reis offer intimate stays at places like Casa Herreria.
