La Gomera Hiking & Trekking Tours

Walk the Path of the Gods through Garajonay National Park's ancient laurel forests, where centuries-old trees create a tropical rainforest atmosphere 1,000m above sea level. Descend steep barrancos into the Hermigua valley's terraced fruit groves, then tackle the challenging 735m ascent to Santa Clara chapel with its 700m cliff-edge views. The route covers varied landscapes from arid cactus-covered coastal paths near El Teide viewpoint to the palm-filled Valle Gran Rey gorge.

You'll do 3-hour treks through Garajonay's UNESCO-protected laurel forest with 300m climbs to La Gomera's highest peaks, where Tenerife's Mount Teide (3,718m) sits across the water. Coastal paths from Hermigua to Agulo pass 300m rock faces and stone terraces, then Valle Gran Rey's gorge leads down to beach.

Daily walks cover 5 to 14 kilometers through La Gomera's varied terrain. The challenging 10-kilometer Barranco de Guarimiar ascent gains 500 meters through steep, palm-lined gorges. The 14-kilometer Chijeré ridge trail gains 730 meters from Vallehermoso valley, then you'll summit Alto de Garajonay at 1,487 meters for views across the Canary archipelago. Walk through UNESCO-protected laurel forests in Garajonay National Park, descend alongside Cedro stream to Hermigua's waterfall, and cross volcanic landscapes dotted with the iconic Roque de Agando monolith.

You'll trek 13km through Barranco de Monteforte to find El Chorro waterfall dropping 175m down the cliffs, then climb 1,250m up through moss-covered laurel forest in Garajonay to reach La Gomera's highest point. The Red Wall hike above Agulo takes you up 1,000m through layers of volcanic rock.

La Gomera's varied terrain includes the climb to Garajonay peak at 1,487m and forest trails in UNESCO-listed Garajonay National Park thick with laurel and heather. You'll visit the mountain village of Chipude below Fortaleza table mountain and trek to the old Chorros de Epina springs past terraced farms.

Summit Garajonay peak at 1,487 meters for panoramic views of Tenerife, La Palma, El Hierro, and Gran Canaria, then head down past the Ermita de Lourdes pilgrimage chapel along the year-round Arroyo del Cedro stream. The 6-kilometer Vallehermoso basin crossing takes you past Roque Cano's imposing cliffs. Tackle the 8-kilometer Valle Gran Rey trail from Arure, dropping 875 meters to the Atlantic coast.

La Gomera's UNESCO-listed Garajonay National Park has moss-covered laurel trees and tall heather growing in the mist. The GR 131 trail takes you from Ayamosna to Roque Agando, up to Garajonay's 1,487m summit with views of Tenerife and La Palma, then down 800m from Arure village to Valle Gran Rey's coast.
