- From Luxor 4 Days 3 Nights Nile Cruise WITH GUIDED TOURS + FREE GIFT TOUR "ABU SIMBEL"
Our family enjoyed the cruise along the Nile River. The entire staff was great!
- Nile Odyssey: Luxor - Aswan -Abu Simbel - Hot Air balloon A5 days with tour guided
Great tour though the idea of 4 nights on the Nile is rather deceptive. While it is 4 nights on board the boat, there are only 2 actual days spent sailing enjoying the views, while the other two are spent docked, in Luxor & Aswan respectively. If parked between two other ships, this means no views for those days. There seems to have been poor communication between Tour Radar and the local company also. The contracted company used one guide for Day 1 and 2 who was based in Luxor, and then sent me a new person, for Days 3 and 4 who has only been instructed to join me the afternoon before. He also seemed unaware of my itinerary (!) The guides were all friendly and knowledgable but seemed to rush through the information before dispatching me to take photos at the various sights.
What our customers ask about Nile Cruises for Solo / Single Travelers
What's included in meals for solo travelers on Nile cruises?
Most Nile cruises include three daily meals served buffet-style. The Le Fayan II cruise represents the standard offering with breakfast lunch and dinner featuring Egyptian international and vegetarian dishes. The dining setup encourages socializing with fellow travelers making meals a natural time to connect. A TourRadar reviewer shared: "The food variety was excellent with both Egyptian and international dishes making it easy to find something you like even as a picky eater."
What's the best time of year for solo travelers to cruise the Nile?
The prime season runs from October through April when temperatures are pleasant and cruise ships see more travelers. The Steigenberger Nile Palace in Luxor reports its highest solo bookings during these months. November and February tend to draw the most solo travelers. As one TourRadar traveler noted: "Traveling in February was perfect - comfortable temperatures and plenty of other travelers to socialize with."
Which areas along the Nile are most recommended for solo travelers?
The route between Luxor and Aswan offers the best experience for solo travelers. This stretch combines strong security organized tours and regular interaction with other travelers. Key stops include the Valley of the Kings Philae Temple and Kom Ombo Temple. The Temple of Karnak and Abu Simbel are especially good for solo visitors thanks to reliable group tours and a steady flow of tourists throughout the year.
What is the average group size for Nile River guided tours?
Tour groups typically range from 15 to 25 people creating an environment that balances personal attention with social opportunities. Ships like the Royal Ruby and MS Opera run at 70% capacity to ensure comfort. A TourRadar review of Beyond the Nile Tours noted: "Our group of 18 was perfect - small enough for personalized attention at sites like Abu Simbel and Karnak Temple yet large enough to meet interesting people."
Do I need to book optional excursions in advance as a solo traveler?
Popular extras like the Abu Simbel tour ($100) and hot air balloon rides ($100) are available onboard but booking ahead is smart especially during busy seasons. Egypt Gift Tours reports that activities like the Nubian Village tour and evening shows often reach capacity quickly. One TourRadar traveler advised: "Book the Abu Simbel tour in advance - it's a must-see and tends to fill up quickly."
How safe is it to travel solo on a Nile River cruise tour?
The structured nature of Nile cruises makes them a secure choice for solo travelers. Ships like the Mayfair and Sara cruise provide round-the-clock staff guides for all excursions and organized transfers. A TourRadar traveler noted: "As a solo traveler I felt completely safe the entire time with our knowledgeable guide Hassan who took great care of us and even recovered my lost phone from a temple!"
