What people love about touring Egypt And Jordan solo
- Epic Tour to Egypt, Jordan and Jerusalem Historical & Religious Experience
I enjoyed the trip very much - and saw so much; however, the accommodations could be improved (especially in Israel) - and a couple of itinerary items never happened (the included camel ride & the belly dance show). I needed to ride a camel, so I later paid to do this in Petra.
- Jordan and Egypt 14 days
We loved our tour guide in Aswan and Luxor region. Very knowledgeable, spoke excellent English and very personable. I recommend this guide highly. (Ahmed Hakim) All our airport pickups were on time and very helpful. Got us through immigration quickly and efficiently. Accommodations were good. Not quite up to American standards but good. Hotels had buffets. Some better than others but all good. The trip went smoothly with no issues. I have no complaints.
- Egypt, Jordan and Dubai 15 days

What our customers ask about Egypt and Jordan Tours for Solo Travelers
What's the best time of year for solo travelers to visit Egypt and Jordan?
The most comfortable time to visit is October through April when the weather suits outdoor exploration. During these months you can walk through Petra and the Pyramids without extreme heat. Winter nights (December to February) can get cool in desert areas like Wadi Rum but hotels such as the Mövenpick Nabatean Castle provide warm shelter. Skip the summer months of June through August when places like Luxor and Aswan reach 104°F (40°C). A TourRadar traveler notes: "I visited in March and it was perfect - comfortable enough to explore Valley of the Kings in the morning and enjoy the rooftop pool at Steigenberger Nile Palace in Luxor in the afternoon."
What is the typical group size and social atmosphere on Egypt and Jordan guided tours for solo travelers?
Tours typically run with 12-15 people creating a close-knit travel experience. The schedule includes plenty of shared activities from meals in Aswan's Nubian Village to Nile felucca rides and Wadi Rum desert explorations. Common spaces at hotels like the Steigenberger Nile Palace in Luxor and Pyramisa Island Hotel in Aswan make it easy to connect with other travelers. A TourRadar traveler shares: "Traveling solo was no problem at all - our group became like family within days sharing amazing experiences like camping under the stars in Wadi Rum and cruising down the Nile together."
What safety considerations should solo travelers keep in mind when visiting Egypt and Jordan?
Guided tours in Egypt and Jordan offer strong safety measures with professional guides and drivers throughout the journey. Tourist areas including the Pyramids of Giza Luxor Temple and Petra have visible security presence. Hotels such as Swiss Inn Pyramids Golf Resort in Cairo and Mövenpick Nabatean Castle in Petra sit in protected tourist zones with round-the-clock security. Guides handle travel logistics and provide cultural guidance. According to a TourRadar traveler: "As a solo female traveler I felt completely safe throughout the entire journey - our guide was extremely professional and protective of the group especially in busy areas like the Khan el-Khalili bazaar in Cairo."
What type of accommodation can solo travelers expect on Egypt and Jordan tours?
Accommodations range from standard hotels to unique stays. You'll find well-appointed single rooms with private bathrooms at properties like the Steigenberger Nile Palace in Luxor and Mövenpick Nabatean Castle in Petra. How much spending money should solo travelers budget for additional expenses in Egypt and Jordan?
Plan for 50-70 USD daily beyond the tour cost of 300-350 USD per day. Extra activities cost around 120 USD for Abu Simbel 124 USD for Luxor hot air balloons plus personal expenses. Non-included meals range from 15-30 USD per person. While most entrance fees come with the tour some sites like the Pyramids interior require extra payment (700 EGP). You'll find ATMs for local currency in major cities including Cairo Amman and Luxor.
How do meals work for solo travelers on Egypt and Jordan tours?
Tours cover daily hotel breakfasts at places like Steigenberger Nile Palace and select group lunches and dinners at local spots.
