Such an awesome experience! The one life tour guides are on point. This is my first time doing a tour like this rather than backpacking solo but I cannot recommend it enough! Hes a very down to earth person and from sharing a room with him on the tour i really got to know him and couldnt ask for more! The activities organised were very fun and each was jam packed (worth waking up at 6am for!). I can highly recommend this tour for a beautiful, fun and culture rich experience. Especially if its with a guy like Jonjo! :)

Accomodation ranged from quite basic (Port Barton- no electricity from morning to evening or wifi) to very good (Canvas in PP). Port Barton although beautiful has many stray dogs and is quite 3rd world.
Some of the highlights of the trip was snorkelling with turtles and sleeping on hammocks on beautiful islands. My favourite though was playing games with the kids during the school visit and seeing them laugh and smile (through many rotten teeth- donations of toothbrushes and toothpaste gratefully received).
Tour guide Jonjo checked in on us from time to time to make sure we were enjoying ourselves. This was much appreciated.
I would recommend this tour noting that it is more as an experience than a luxury trip. A+++

I started my tour with Jonjo as my tour guide for the first couple days, and I couldn’t be luckier to of been able to of met him! He was so helpful and got us where we needed to be on time, such as catching a flight to El Nido, Some people forgot there bags at the hostel, and jonjo straight away organised everything to be on time at the airport, without stress.
In such a short time we became so close, his fun personality made the first days of the tour the best. Saying goodbye was really sad, I would love to do a tour with him as my guide the whole time!

The next morning super organised jonjo transfers us all to the airport and got us to El Nido. That afternoon we met our guide that would take us through the rest of our journey but it was super sad saying goodbye to jonjo because he is a legend and I would love to do a tour under him one day.

All activities and days out were really well thought out and fun! Island hopping and visiting the school was insane, memories that will never leave me! Our tour guide was helpful and always went the extra mile even when things did go slightly wrong! But can honestly say One Life has created a great experience out in the Philippines, as without being a part of the tour you wouldn’t be able to camp on a private island or visit the Iwahig prison! One Life has been great and hopefully I will be back for a tour in the future with them!

There was lots of varied activities and restaurant choices for all, some activities that would have been difficult to visit without one life, these included the school visit, the prison visit and the night on Kalipan island. Our tour guide was very helpful with reccomendations and kept in touch via Facebook chat and was always available to contact if needed. He also arranged to meet a few tour members before it began as we were unsure of what to do in manila, this was very helpful as I was there for a few days on my own and didn't feel confident going round the city on my own!
When the hostel in El nido messed up the booking, jonjo and one life sorted the problem very quickly with minimal disturbance to the tour plan.
I will definitely be using one life as a tour again. :)

This tour truly has something for every type of person. You can relax on the beach, party on a boat, learn about the Filipino culture, it has it all. My favourite part about one life is how much they contribute to the community. It’s so nice to see a company give back so much and really make a difference. The locals just adore them. Also, there are so many things included!! I had a basic idea of what was included when I booked but we did so much stuff, our days were jam packed with fun activities, we stayed in great places, and all our travel was so easy. Our tour guide Jonjo was an absolute beauty. He made sure we were all always having an amazing time, took care of anything we needed, and really became a good friend even after the first night. I can’t wait to do Sri Lanka!! Book this trip, you won’t regret it!

Transport was fine with the longest trip being about 4 hours on a coach but with plenty of stops and entertainment on the coach. One life were able to put us up in a new hotel when the current accomdation had lost the booking for 4 nights at very short notice. Jonjo was extremely helpful throughout the trip, answering any of our questions and ensuring we got from place to place safely. I particularly enjoyed the afternoon at the prison, the island hopping and staying over night on a secluded beach, they have given us opportunities that would have never been able to organise myself. A very varied and full 10 day tour. Thanks again.

The places are spectacular, especially going off the beaten track at port Barton which was one of my highlights. The days are well planned with cultural experiences spread throughout. I particularly like how the company gives back to the community and the school (which you get to visit).
The tour guide was really friendly and approachable with nothing seeming like a hassle. Everything ran smoothly Special thanks to Jonjo.
The accommodation was always clean and in good locations. Due to an issue with bookings, we were even upgraded to a luxury hotel.
Overall I was very happy with he tour, what it included and how it was run.

Finally, Jonjo was our tour guide and did a phenomenal job - Organising alternate activities at the last minute due unforeseen circumstances, making dinner arrangements for a group on multiple occasions, assisting/booking various onward travel plans and genuinely being a great professional to bring our group together. Great tour guide, informative and always willing to help the group.

Exploring the islands was a lot of fun and got to see some incredible sites. One of the things that I found to set this apart was the culture side of the tour where we got to imurse ourselves in the Philippineo culture and give back to the local communities, and I would definitely recommend for anyone to do while here in the Philippines. All of the accommodation was safe and secure as well as in great locations for going out and getting around town. The highlight of my trip was the island hopping and camping trip on a private island, swimming with turtles was an amazing experience and bonus. After meeting so many new people on this tour, I can’t wait to go to the one life Sri Lanka tour with my new friends who I’ve met through one life. Thanks so much to Hugo and Jonjo for everything they did on this trip, you’re both legends!

This tour was hands down one of the best trips of my life. Both Jonjo and Patrick were great guides. Even as photographer, Jonjo took 5 of us out on a boat trip when everyone else was ill or hungover.…This tour was hands down one of the best trips of my life. His photography has been a great memory and keepsake post tour and he marked some of the most fun parts of the tour with great snaps.

The accommodation was better than I could have imagined. This tour exceeded all expectations I had and I would recommend it to anyone in a heartbeat.

Throughout the trip the organisation was unreal, so much more than what I was expecting! The accommodation on each island blew my mind, the scenery and standard was brilliant. Unfortunately, when in Koh Tao I fell ill, Jonjo and Ryan were fantastic, throughout the free day they both came and checked on me offering to go and get me anything I need and supplying me with a laptop to keep me occupied when I was bed ridden. Overall experience with TruTravels and especially Jonjo has bee fab!!

I arrived on this tour with low expectations of reps, after having spent 3 weeks travelling with another company whose reps were pretty useless. As soon as we arrived, Jonjo and his colleague were amazing! They introduced themselves, let us know how to contact them if needed, gave us loads of information about our trip and the local area and organised a meal in the evening. Jonjo really made a great effort to get to know each traveler and was able to answer all of my questions. One day our boat tour had to turn around due to stormy weather - instead of just giving us a free day, like the reps at the other organisation I traveled with would have, we were given a free massage, cinema trip and evening meal! Amazing customer service! I can't wait to book my next trip with this incredible company!

Tru Travels was a great company to go with. We travelled around two of the Thai islands and visited places i would have definitely missed out on if i had travelled by myself. Everything was organised insanely well that there was never any need to stress or worry about what we were doing or where we needed to be because it was all done for us and so we were able to enjoy every moment of the tour without any stress. Whilst it was all organised and planned well, there was also a good balance of having activities planned and also having free time to go and explore or just chill as we pleased. All accommodation was beautiful, some better than others of course (the floating bungalows being a huge highlight), but all lovely. To have got this far into a review without mentioning the guides is wrong of me. Patrick and Jonjo made the entire trip and without them the experience would not have been half of what it was. Whilst being the source of all knowledge and managing to get all 20 odd of us to the end of the trip in one piece, they also brought the group together and enabled us all to become a small family by the time the trip had ended. I have made friends that I will stay in contact with for a very long time, it is designed to accommodate many, a 10+ year age gap between some group members went unnoticed. I would recommend this tour to so many people, in fact, I already have. I would also jump at the chance to do it a thousand times over. Thank you again to Patrick and Jonjo for being just so awesome! Less than a week after finishing the tour and I miss it like crazy, TruTravels did very well.

Plenty of activities were included, including travel and some meals even, and we were never pressured into anything so everything we took part in felt enjoyable and natural. We saw some of the most beautiful places on earth and our group bonded well, seeing as we were being taken care of so well. Everything was organised for us and even in 'free time' we were given recommendations for things to do and see.

The entire tour was well organized from the moment I was met at the airport to our final goodbyes. Our tour leaders, Adam and Jonjo, were extremely welcoming, helpful, and easy to talk to. We would receive a message from Adam every day outlining the plans for the day with meeting times and suggestions of places to see or things to do in our free time. There were a couple differences from the itinerary online and what we actually did but Adam was sure to explain the reasoning behind the changes and what the activities were replaced with. Our accommodations were incredible, each one with a private pool which was wonderful in the blistering heat. The tour was packed with excursions yet we had a ton of free time as well. It’s unbelievable how much we managed to cram into 10 days. I’d like to thank Adam and Jonjo for being absolute gems and providing us with a lifetime of memories. I’ve made new friends for life on this trip and would highly recommend it to anyone!

The Northern Tour guides Hein, Jonjo and Art were incredible - friends from the get go, they organised everything so smoothly and made every experience more fun (even long bus rides). They are really part of the group! Every experience was incredible and every accommodation was perfect - clean, safe, A/C, warm showers... The two weeks flew by because I was loving every minute. The Beaches tour was run by Dan - also an amazing guide, so positive and happy all the time, and brought together a pretty big group - and was such a different experience to the Northern tour, you should definitely do both. There is a perfect amount of flexibility so it still feels like your own trip, there is a perfect balance between activities, chill time and partying, the food was amazing and (again) best of all the people. I would recommend this to ANYONE because I've made friends for life and every fear I had before I came solo completely vanished within the first day. If in doubt just do it anyway - I couldn't be happier that i did ! But once again particular kudos to the amazing guides. The coolest guys ever!

I travelled on my own to Thailand but there was not a single moment I felt alone. I never felt like I was being babysitted or under watch, I just felt like if I needed to ask something, he was the guy to go to. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and made so much friends because of this. It won't be my last tour with trutravels.

Our tour guides were Harry, Dave and Jonjo all wicked guys that always joined in with the fun and got to know everyone. They always kept us informed and up to date with any changes as we had some bad weather which meant we weren't sure if we could get to one of our destinations and our boat trip got cancelled but they soon arranged another activity for us.
Overall it was a wicked experience with wicked people! Will definitely be looking into other tours available in the future and recommend TruTravels to family and friends

They had a way of making me feel like we were all just a bunch of friends traveling together. If I were to go somewhere in SE Asia, I'd choose TruTravels
