What people love about Bolivia And Peru Tours
- Southern Divide
This trip was amazing and our tourguide was excellent!
- Southern Divide
This tour was fantastic and our tour guide Eddie was the best CEO ever. If every G Adventures tour is like this, I would have no problems recommending them. I did get quite sick with altitude in Peru and Bolivia, so make sure you take precautions just in case. Limit your expectations for buses etc and you will be pleasantly surprised. The people were great, the local food was great (make sure you get recommendations from your CEO so you don't end up sick, we didn't get food poisoning at all once we joined the tour). If you opt to do the death road tour it was a great experience. I went in the bus, which I think was more dangerous then doing it on the bike.

Amazing tour. South America is such a beautiful and unique place. Our tour guide was really helpful and easy to come to with questions and concerns. Highly recommended

Our Peru-Bolivia routes run between 19 and 28 days - enough time to really get under the skin of these fascinating places. The Amazon portion has you paddling canoes to reach hidden jungle lodges, where you'll spot macaws, countless butterflies and monkeys swinging through the canopy. Over at Lake Titicaca, travelers tell us they love staying with local families on the Llachon Peninsula, often ending up in friendly soccer matches with the village kids and learning traditional weaving from the community. For those after a proper physical challenge, the Altiplano section includes some serious cycling. You'll pedal from high Andean peaks down into the lush Yungas rainforest below. The descent from Huayracpunku at 4250m is a highlight - you'll follow old Inca trails with the Vilcanota range spread out before you. When we head to the Salt Flats, we use 4WDs to reach spots like Laguna Colorada, where three different flamingo species wade through the mineral-rich waters. Our routes mix cultural experiences with active challenges. You'll spend time in traditional Quechua villages throughout the Sacred Valley and wander the fascinating witches' market in La Paz. What makes these real adventures? Try mountain biking down the 'Death Road' descent, then learning about healing plants from local Amazon guides and getting hands-on with pachamanca cooking underground. It's this blend of physical challenges and genuine local connections that sets these journeys apart.

Everything starts in Lima with a relaxed walk through Miraflores before you head deep into the Amazon, where canoe trips bring you close to macaws, monkeys and literally thousands of butterflies. What works well is how these tours mix guided parts with time to explore - you'll do the classic Inca Trail trek to Machu Picchu, visit Lake Titicaca's floating communities and cross those vast Bolivian salt flats, but you'll also have free time to find your own favorite spots in Cusco, La Paz and also Arequipa. Our customers tell us this balance of famous sites and hidden corners is exactly what makes these trips special.

These 7-day Peru and Bolivia tours really nail the main Andean highlights without rushing things. Starting in Lima, you'll work your way to Lake Titicaca with some excellent stops along the way. The Church of Andahuaylillas is a particular gem - our travelers often say it's like Peru's answer to the Sistine Chapel with those incredible ceiling murals. You get quality time in Cusco to explore both the Spanish colonial architecture and Incan ruins before heading up to Machu Picchu. The private guides there help you understand all the clever engineering that went into building this mountain city. What works really well is how these tours mix guided visits with free time - you can browse local markets, try different foods and also take it easy while adjusting to the altitude.
Don't miss out on visiting:
Lima, Cusco, Sacred Valley, Chinchero, Ollantaytambo, Machu Picchu, Puno, Lake Titicaca
Ten days gives you room to properly experience Peru's diverse landscapes. The journey kicks off in Lima before heading to the Ballestas Islands, where you'll spot sea lions lounging on rocks, penguins waddling about and thousands of seabirds swooping overhead. There's proper adventure too - you'll zoom down massive sand dunes in Huacachina and fly over the enigmatic Nazca Lines. These trips really blend the coast, mountains and culture nicely: you'll explore traditional Cusco markets, learn about ancient weaving in the Sacred Valley and spend time with families on Lake Titicaca's floating islands. Our customers consistently tell us the local guides make everything click, especially when explaining the engineering at places like Moray's agricultural terraces and also Machu Picchu's precise stonework.
Don't miss out on visiting:
Lima, Arequipa, Canon del Colca, Puno, Lake Titicaca, Cusco, Machu Picchu
Two weeks lets you dig deep into both countries without rushing. These trips typically start either in Chile's Atacama Desert or La Paz, then take you through Bolivia's remarkable landscapes - from the weathered formations in the Valley of the Moon to the endless white expanse of the Uyuni Salt Flats. You'll stay in some unique spots, including hotels built from salt blocks and small island communities on Lake Titicaca. In Peru, you'll visit less-touristy places like the ancient salt pans at Maras and textile workshops in Chinchero, alongside the major sites like Machu Picchu. Our travelers really value how these longer trips connect them with local life - cooking with families in Sucre, meeting La Paz shamans and also learning traditional farming methods in the Sacred Valley.
Don't miss out on visiting:
La Paz, Challapampa, Uyuni, San Juan, Huayllajara, Copacabana, Puno, Uros Reed Islands, Cusco, Aguas Calientes

Best time to visit Bolivia and Peru
- Spring 2025
September through November tours catch Peru and Bolivia's spring energy in full swing. We time several routes to hit local market days in Pisac and Chinchero, where spring brings fresh produce and local weavers showing off their latest textiles. The popular Arequipa, Lake Titicaca and Cusco combination works really well now - our travelers consistently tell us how the mild spring weather makes those altitude changes much gentler on the body. Many groups hop over to the Ballestas Islands where you'll spot active sea lion colonies and penguins doing their thing. The northern Argentina stretch into Bolivia shows off spring wildflowers through the Quebrada de Humahuaca, while groups finishing in Rio get caught up in the early carnival atmosphere.

Peru and Bolivia shine during winter months from June to August. Lima kicks off most routes before heading deep into the Amazon - you'll actually see more wildlife since it's the dry season with macaws, monkeys and otters hanging out along the river edges. The Inca Trail really comes into its own this time of year; those mountain views look incredibly sharp against winter's clear skies. Our groups love playing with perspective photos on the Uyuni Salt Flats, where the dry winter surface creates perfect mirror effects. The journey through La Paz, Sucre and Potosí lets you take in Bolivia's colonial buildings under deep blue skies, and many travelers add stops at Iguazu Falls where winter brings pleasant temperatures and lighter crowds.
