18 Day Atlantic Canada Itinerary, incl. Nova Scotia and Newfoundland
An 18-day route through 17 Eastern Canadian destinations from Halifax to St. John's awaits. Visit UNESCO sites at Lunenburg and Gros Morne, cross Confederation Bridge and sail Bonne Bay. Features six strategic two-night stays and 33 meals.

- Days 1-2
Halifax & South Shore
Start your trip in Halifax, the vibrant capital of Nova Scotia. Get to Peggy's Cove early on day 2. The lighthouse looks best at sunrise before the crowds show up. Take a drive down the South Shore to the UNESCO site of Lunenburg. Visit the Fisheries Museum in the afternoon when fishing boats come back to port. You'll get a real look at Nova Scotia's maritime culture from the museum's working wharf.

- Days 3-4
Prince Edward Island
Cross the impressive 13km Confederation Bridge and explore Charlottetown's historic area. A local traveler shares: "The walking tour through the old town really brings the Confederation story to life—but wear comfortable shoes as the cobblestones can be tricky." Make time for the red-sand beaches at PEI National Park. Visit Anne of Green Gables Heritage Place later in the day when it's less crowded.

- Days 5-6
Cape Breton Island
- Days 7-8
Newfoundland's West Coast
- Days 9-10
Northern Peninsula & Labrador
- Days 11-12
Gros Morne National Park
Take the Bonne Bay boat tour to see the fjords. Get a guide for the Tablelands hike. They'll help you understand the unique geology. Bring extra layers since the weather changes quickly.
- Days 13-14
Central Newfoundland
Start your day early at Gander's North Atlantic Aviation Museum to avoid crowds. It's about 2 hours to Twillingate. Watch for moose near sunset. Long Point Lighthouse is perfect for spotting icebergs in May-June.
- Days 15-16
Trinity & Bonavista
Get a walking map from the visitor center to see Trinity's historic sites. The Cape Bonavista Lighthouse has a steep climb but great views. One visitor noted: "The historic interpreter's stories about lighthouse keeping brought the harsh reality of their lives into sharp focus."
- Days 17-18
St. John's
Set aside 3 hours for whale and puffin watching in the bay. Bring a windbreaker for Signal Hill even on nice days. The East Coast Trail near Cape Spear offers great ocean views but gets slippery when wet.
