Picture cycling Spain's rugged coast north of Barcelona. Costa Brava means cycling between beaches and medieval villages, with Tossa de Mar, Begur, and Cadaqués (Dalí's town). You're riding coastal roads with Mediterranean views, climbing into hills, stopping in towns for seafood. The terrain varies from flat coastal sections to serious climbs inland. It’s an adventure that combines scenery, culture, and food beautifully.

What people love about Bicycle Tours in Costa Brava
- Best of Catalonia Cycling Holiday (Easy to Moderate)
We consider ourselves to be “veterans” of self guided cycling tours - we have now done 18 self guided tours across 4 countries, over 5 years. We came back to Creative Catalonia on the back of the most wonderful experience with them the year before, this time sharing our holiday with friends. We were not disappointed and our experience confirmed that this is indeed one of the best parts of the world for cycling, and that Lucy and Daniel are outstanding hosts. We had plenty of contact before we arrived to ensure that all was in order. Lucy met us for the pre-tour briefing - informative, super helpful and prepared to do anything to make sure we had a good time. We met again mid-tour, once again to answer any questions we had, more tips for the rides in front of us, assistance with transit arrangements - and Creative Catalonia t-shirts! Finally the end of the trip a phone call once again to check that everything had gone well and wanting to see if there was anything else she could do for us. Creative Catalonia is an outstanding, customer focussed business. You can’t help but feel special when these guys are looking after you. It’s also great value - hotel quality including breakfasts, trip notes, road riding all 5 stars and very reasonably priced. Totally, thoroughly recommended. We will be back!
- Best of Catalonia Cycling Holiday (Moderate)
The Medieval Villages of Catalonia self-guided tour was the best cycling trip I have ever done. The route was stunning and the hotels were top notch. Best of all was the quality of bikes and navigation equipment, and the care and attention provided by the tour operators, Lucy and Daniel. They went out of their way to ensure we were all comfortable and happy. We were a group of 10 ladies, so I'm sure it wasn't easy for them. But, they were always ready to answer questions, provide recommendations, and deliver lost items or seat pads. I just can't say enough about this amazing company. I can't wait to come back and do another tour.
- Medieval Villages Cycling Holiday (Easy to Moderate)
We had an amazing 6 day tour this August (2018) in the Costa Brava region. The weather was quite hot (32-35 C or 90-95 F every day) and we were traveling with our three teenage kids. Nevertheless, everyone had a great time! The itinerary is very well planned out, with most of the riding on cycle paths, dirt roads, or very minor paved roads with virtually no car traffic. The scenery ranged from peaceful farmland to the gorgeous coast, with some optional rugged hills on the last day. We visited archeological sites, medieval villages, and upscale beach towns. Another nice thing about the itinerary were several days with optional loop rides, which was good for those of us who wanted a bit more riding. The map and cycle network is so good that you can easily add little loops of 5-10+ km to the planned itinerary if you want. The hotels were all very nice by any standard. We especially enjoyed the last stay in Monells. We arrived in Girona by train, had an easy walk to the hotel there, and they met us the next morning with the bikes. Our luggage was transported on time every day and the hotels were used to Creative Catalonia, which made it even easier. Bikes are stored in locked garages at the hotels. We had no trouble and everything was very easy. I will absolutely recommend this tour to friends!
