As They say, you get what you pay for! The CEO was great ! We could not have asked for more. The accommodations in Bayeux were the poorest and most uncomfortable. The TV mounted on the wall in front of the twin beds made it impossible to pass during a night time visit to the toilet without banging your head. The tour bus to needs new shocks !! Charge a little more, fix the above, add some professional guide time at sites and some photo opportunity stops.

After booking this cruise on line with fingers crossed it would be ok, I was very pleased with all facets of the cruise. Great value for money! Food good, though a lighter buffet lunch would have been better for most of us. Ship good, staff really nice and although I was travelling alone, I met some really nice people I hope to keep in contact with. Congratulation Croisi!

Best tour companies for Normandy tours
Based on what our travelers tell us, Globus really delivers on the essentials - they plan routes well, pick great stops and keep things running smoothly day to day. Their guides Riccardo and Phillipe get a lot of praise from guests who appreciate their deep knowledge about each location and ability to handle the unexpected. The coaches are modern and comfortable which helps on longer travel days between cities. While the bus WiFi can be spotty at times (especially in mountain areas), most guests find the seats spacious and appreciate having charging ports at each seat. I hear consistently that it's the little touches that make Globus tours work so well - the guides adjusting plans based on the group's interests, finding those perfect lunch spots off the main squares and sharing fun local stories that you won't find in guidebooks. The company clearly puts effort into hiring guides who know their regions inside and out. Just keep in mind that like any group tour, you'll be traveling with others and following a set schedule. But Globus builds in enough free time for guests to explore on their own, grab dinner at local spots and take things at their own pace when possible.

- Spring 2026
Spring is when Normandy's gardens really come alive, and our tours make the most of it. We start in Paris with dinner at the Eiffel Tower's first floor restaurant before heading to Giverny where Monet's gardens show their first colors. Our guides Philippe and Marie Claire know every detail about both the D-Day beaches and Loire Valley castles. Mont Saint-Michel works particularly well in April and May - the weather's just right for the climb up to the abbey and you get clear views across the bay. The Loire Valley part includes wine tasting sessions where you'll learn about their impressive production of over 320 million bottles each year.

- Summer 2026
Normandy shines brightest in summer, when our most popular tours blend D-Day history with authentic French culture. These carefully crafted 8-day experiences start with morning visits to historic sites when the lighting creates perfect photo conditions, followed by afternoons exploring medieval towns and gardens in full bloom. Our guides Philippe and Marie Claire consistently adapt the pace to match weather conditions and group dynamics. Many routes kick off with an Eiffel Tower dinner on the first floor, then continue to Giverny's gardens, which showcase their most vivid colors during summer. The D-Day focused itineraries include privileged early access to Utah Beach and the American Cemetery, while incorporating tranquil Seine cruises past illuminated Paris monuments in the lingering summer light. Our travelers tell us they particularly value how these summer routes balance structured visits with independent time to wander through Bayeux's medieval heart or stroll at leisure through Monet's color-filled gardens. Groups often have the opportunity to participate in memorial ceremonies during June visits, adding depth and meaning to their Norman journey.

- Fall / Autumn 2026
Normandy comes alive in autumn with comfortable temperatures and quieter sites along our routes. Seine cruises in the fall draw high marks, especially during evening cocktails as Paris shifts into its autumn glow. Small-group D-Day tours led by expert guides Philippe and Marie Claire work perfectly in the cooler weather, giving visitors time to absorb the powerful history of these beaches. Mont Saint-Michel reveals its true medieval character under clear autumn skies, offering photographers ideal conditions for capturing the abbey. Our combined cycling and walking tours shine during harvest season, as Norman villages buzz with activity - you'll visit cider farms at peak production, and wander through colorful foliage on paths connecting Paris, Giverny and Rouen. Our travelers tell us that autumn's relaxed atmosphere lets them fully discover both the major landmarks and those hidden local gems that busier summer visitors tend to overlook.

How long should I spend checking out the D-Day sites in Normandy?
You'll want to set aside at least 2-3 days to really take in the key D-Day locations. Places like Omaha Beach Utah Beach and the American Cemetery deserve proper time to explore and understand. If you're looking at organized options the Paris & Normandy Highlights tour from National Geographic gives you 3 full days which is perfect for getting deep into the history of these incredible sites.
Which beaches should I make sure to visit in Normandy?
Each landing beach tells its own powerful story. Omaha Beach really resonates with American visitors while Juno Beach has some fascinating Canadian exhibits and Gold Beach was where the British forces landed. Think about what interests you most and how much time you've got. The WWII D-Day Landing Beaches tour covers Utah Omaha and Juno Beach giving you a really good overview of different allied perspectives.
Can I mix D-Day sites with other Normandy attractions?
Absolutely you can! Normandy's got so much more to offer beyond the historical sites. You've got these gorgeous little towns amazing coastline and cultural spots like medieval Rouen. Maybe add in a visit to Monet's Gardens in Giverny if you're into art. Check out the 5-Day Paris Mont Saint-Michel Adventure it includes this incredible abbey built right on a tidal island or try the Cycle Northern France tour that lets you bike along canals and explore historic towns like Saint-Malo really nice way to blend active travel with all that history and culture.
